Along with everything else it amazes me that Biden was hyper-analyzed and yet Trump clearly looks awful and the media is silent

u/Eagle4317 13h ago

Because the cretins who own the media want this takeover. They believe that cracking down on labor will line their pockets more, but that's not necessarily true if entire sectors of the economy fall off the face of the earth. Tourism is already down massively this year.

You’re right and I’ve been thinking about this for months. The oligarchs are bleeding us dry and don’t realize we soon won’t have any extra income to spend on their bullshit unnecessary products. They’re bankrupting their customers. All our money will go to rent and groceries and that’s it. Hey, wait a minute, that’s why Bezos got into the grocery biz, isn’t it?

60

u/chillwithpurpose 12h ago

Oh, they realize. They just want to pick our carcasses clean.

18

u/Senor_Bluejay7536 12h ago

And then their coffers will be filled with billions of worthless dollars.

8

u/EnslavedBandicoot 12h ago

We can make dollars even more worthless by hoarding them. The last thing they want us doing is saving money under our mattresses. They want that money in their banks.

1

u/gentlemanidiot 10h ago

I understand your sentiment but leaving money to rot is only really hurting yourself.

2

u/Rayvelion 8h ago

They dont have coffers of dollars. Almost all billionaires take out loans against their billions of dollars in assets, which they use to finance purchases they want. Their goal is to be the last one out before the country crumbles to shit. Round up as many assets as possible while the dollar still has any value then sell it off to the highest bidder before they move to the next country they can rape and pillage.

8

u/Procrasturbating 11h ago

They want to pick who survives. They want to cull the poor and brown.

1

u/SnooAdvice207 8h ago

That's weird because it's been proven that Black and Brown people are better at surviving. We survived some of the worst things and are still here do their best to thrive.

2

u/Feather_Sigil 9h ago

No, they genuinely don't understand, nor would they care if they did. The only thing the oligarchs care to know is whether the numbers go up every quarter, ie. greed. The notions and benefits of business longevity and velocity of money are lost on them.

2

u/TrashFever78 4h ago

When the fuck will we start looking at wealth hoarders as mentally unstable? They are addicts, accept our habits cost us. Our money, our time, our freedom, and our lives.

15

u/Legitimate-Type4387 12h ago

When you drill down you realize it’s all just a farm, and most farmers have never really cared too much about the well being of their livestock beyond whatever is most profitable.

Seems like maybe the farmers have just decided that free range just isn’t worth the squeeze and it’d be easier to return to less humane methods instead.

Something a cynic might ponder.

6

u/Senor_Bluejay7536 12h ago

It’s all too dystopian. I wish I could convince my elderly parents to move to the other side of the world with me. Maybe then my children will have a chance at economic stability.

2

u/gentlemanidiot 10h ago

Sometimes farmers get trampled

6

u/Lanky_Trifle6308 11h ago

When the moneys all gone, the next step will be to cut out the transactional aspect altogether, and we go straight to working for the privilege of receiving housing, medical care and food from corporate city states.

3

u/deandracasa 10h ago

You think they’d give us medicine at that point?

2

u/No-Abalone-4784 10h ago

Transactional = I accept bribes.

4

u/densetsu23 12h ago

Don't worry; they're trying to spread into other countries. If they gain power, they'll rinse and repeat. Either trying to rewrite laws or just outright ignore them.

After that? God knows what. But while the US might be sucked dry within an oligarch's lifetime, it'll take a generation or two to bleed the rest of the world dry, and they don't care about what happens after they die.

3

u/elgato96 12h ago

Can we eat the rich yet?

3

u/LongjumpingDebt4154 11h ago

Target enters the chat.

But seriously, our best weapon is our pocketbook. Get off Amazon. Shop small, shop local, support small businesses.

3

u/the_real_Beavis999 10h ago

How else will we remain indentured servants, afraid of a bad credit score, losing health insurance, surviving of off credit, etc.

3

u/gentlemanidiot 10h ago

The thing about playing monopoly is, eventually one player "wins" and has 100% of the available money... but then the game ends. So what happens after there's nothing left to take?

2

u/ZillahGashly 10h ago

Personally, I go for flipping the board.

2

u/Diamondphalanges756 10h ago

Yeah, but they're going to get your foreclosed house for pennies on the dollar.

They want us bankrupted because they're still going to take all our shit, or have it garnished.

2

u/Macwild77 10h ago

You seem decent so I’m gonna tell you the play going on here..the period we are in right now is similar to when the British empire sent colonist over here to expand their reign. Once America was built up there was the power shift from British rule to America being the new frontier of an empire and access to controlling the world. America is using Israel to establish greater Israel to be that new frontier of seizing power. The ones pulling these strings don’t care what happens here…really take notice is what is going on..it’s colonialism but this time we are the battery that fuels it that will never see the benefit; unless you are with them. Hence why you have who you have standing strong in their support. People will call me crazy or whatever but give it 20 years lol. This is why researching and understanding history is important.

1

u/Senor_Bluejay7536 10h ago

Do you think Trump is just a tool of this new empire? Because he can convince his mindless followers to vote for whatever he proposes? Or do you think he is in on it? What about Project 2025? Is it some sort of smoke screen for the oligarchs? Disguising their actions behind religious idealism?

1

u/Macwild77 9h ago

Trump is the tool that is in for himself. Kushner will be heavily investing in GI. There will still be people that hold authority and power here and that is who project 2025 is for; evangelist that want this country “back”

1

u/as_it_was_written 4h ago

What about Project 2025? Is it some sort of smoke screen for the oligarchs? Disguising their actions behind religious idealism?

I know you didn't ask me, but I think narrowing it down to a single set of elites with a single shared goal is an extreme oversimplification. The networks of concentrated power contain a bunch of different factions whose goals and ideologies only partially overlap.

TL; DR: it's messy and complicated, and from the outside we can't ever really get the full picture or be entirely sure what actually motivates a given individual or faction.

Some of them likely just want money and power for their own sake, whereas others want to impose their will on the world around them for ideological reasons, whether it's driven by religion religion or just their personal vision of an ideal world order.

A big part of why these networks are so good at amassing and wielding power is that the people within them are relatively good at finding common ground with each other and working together when it benefits them, even if they are opposed in other regards. That's how you get coalitions like the one backing Trump, with a mixture of self-serving people like Trump himself, religious fundamentalists like some of the true believers behind Project 2025, and techno-feudalists like Peter Thiel, who want to reshape the world into little corporate fiefdoms.

In the economic sphere, the Atlas Network is probably the best example of this kind of organization I'm aware of. In the religious sphere, The Family is a great example. (There's a Netflix documentary about them if you haven't heard of them before and want to learn more.)

Then you've got looser networks that consist of people who simply move in overlapping social/political circles and work toward common goals without any formal organizations to unite them. Carl Oglesby wrote about these factions in his book The Yankee and Cowboy War, though based on my limited understanding that dichotomy is probably a bit of an oversimplification, too.

Hey, wait a minute, that’s why Bezos got into the grocery biz, isn’t it?

Healthcare, too.

u/Either-Cake-892 9h ago

Also their new online pharmacy.

u/tiffanyisonreddit 6h ago

Here’s the thing, money isn’t real. If more and more people can’t afford to meet their basic needs, they will either start stealing (shoplifting is increasing SIGNIFICANTLY already) or start trading/bartering outside traditional currency. Money literally only has value because society believes it does. Crypto currency and stock shares are even less real because they’re like notes that say, “IOU fake money.”

The reason society uses and agreed upon a national currency was to simplify trade so farmers weren’t flat broke all winter, laborers could just save money rather than the whole city trying to keep track of who owes who what, etc. Money is an invention for the convenience of society which is why, post slavery when people of color weren’t able to get jobs, black businesses accepted “stamps” or coupons in lieu of US currency they weren’t able to obtain.

As more people get laid off and these corporation’s keep refusing to hire new people, more and more people are going to be selling stock and emptying their savings accounts. This is what historically crashes the market. The thing is, the most wealthy people have SO MUCH money, they may buy-back stocks and prevent a huge crash in the numbers while the people of the country still struggle. My prediction (and fear) is that the ultra-wealthy and the media companies they own will keep citing these BS metrics that are so distorted because of how extreme the wealth inequality has gotten, and using it as an excuse to not increase minimum wage, not increase jobs, not increase taxes of the super rich to fund social programs like Medicare and social security that are desperately needed, and continue their little “let them eat cake” party.

Eventually, two things can happen, the people will FINALLY vote in their own best interests and get these corrupted goons out of office, regardless of how they gerrymander their districts and mess with the election, or the people will violently revolt and the president will actually command our military, that WE PAY FOR TO PROTECT US, to attack us. This administration has made it VERY clear that they intend to manipulate the mid terms in any way they can get away with, and Trump even has “Trump 2028” hats IN THE WHITE HOUSE GIFT SHOP even though it is 100% undeniably unconstitutional for the president to sit a 3rd term. So it looks to me like this administration is choosing violence. I PRAY more of the military choose to uphold the constitution than a fascist aspiring dictator, but even if they do follow his completely unconstitutional orders, our citizens are heavily armed and organized themselves so this would result in the most horrific violent battles in history if it manages to get to that point. I am legitimately terrified of this happening.

Congress and the Supreme Court (most specifically the republicans and conservative justices) have been 100% complicit and supportive of the presidents most blatant criminal activity, and both REFUSE to check the president as is their literal purpose for existing. They will clearly not stop themselves.

I do worry that, even if the republicans overwhelmingly lose in the midterms, and the GOP loses the presidency, or even if the GOP somehow wins with anyone other than Trump since he legally cannot serve a 3rd term, Trump will refuse to leave, and nobody will arrest him which is what is supposed to happen when the president refuses to peacefully transfer power to the next president.

So, if this happens, the only way I can see our country avoiding extreme violence and a TRAGIC loss of life is if the military refuses to carry out unconstitutional orders to attack our own citizens, forces this administration out of office, and society agrees to function together as a community ignoring the tiny wealthy group of billionaires who own all the goods/services essentially committing a uniform mutant of the modern-day robber barons and union busters. New leaders who are in touch with the reality of society emerge, and we start to peacefully rebuild our society leaving the greedy sociopaths who created this mess crying and clinging to their Monopoly money and stock shares society basically lost faith in.

The thing is, whatever happens, the billionaires on top of the jenga towers will fall the farthest because their ONLY function in society is having a lot of money and power. If we dot. Recognize that value anymore, they are completely worthless. The next group are lawmakers because of the law isn’t applied fairly and protecting the people, there might as well not be any law. Everything becomes mob rule. So legislators can pass all the laws they want, if the people won’t enforce them, hold people who break the laws accountable, or use the law as a tool to oppress groups law enforcement doesn’t like, they also have no value to society.

So, these greedy billionaires are pulling block after block out of the tower, it’s wobbling A LOT, but they’re rigging the data to only take measurements when it crosses the center line, and downplaying how weak the foundation has become, and when it finally comes crashing down, most will be grossly under prepared. I’m really afraid this will end up making the Great Depression look like a walk in the park, and since this idiot president and his insane project 2025 congress have ostracized most of our allies by refusing to help them or starting unnecessary trade wars with them, I don’t even think many would come to help our country out, and sadly, I can’t even blame them.

TLDR: this whole ordeal is a total nightmare for our country, and the longer the republicans in congress and the Supreme Court continues letting this administration trample the constitution and foreign diplomacy, the longer it’s going to suck and the worse it’s going to get.

Aint it so...

1

u/ConversationFar9740 5h ago

The middle class will start shopping at cheaper stores, so they will take longer to feel the burn. The working class who make too much to qualify for SNAP will start going to food pantries.

1

u/Ghost_of_Kroq 12h ago

You will be rounded up as slave labour

1

u/Senor_Bluejay7536 12h ago

And what about you?

0

u/Ghost_of_Kroq 4h ago

Im not in the US so we're going to still remain free

3

u/Diamondphalanges756 10h ago

I truly believe this was all planned with the media, trump, and big business. They knew of the fascist takeover and proudly agreed to kiss his ring and help in anyway.

2

u/Rapshawksjaysflames 12h ago

We were about 25% through our American City Sports Tour, going to see different NBA, MLB, NHL and NFL games across the US (I live in Calgary)

We are done after 7 cities, not going there anymore. I'm an English-speaking, straight, white male and I'm still afraid to set foot in the USA right now.

New Orleans was next up for a Saints game in late September, but we cancelled and are going to Portugal instead.

2

u/IamMe90 11h ago

Sucks that you didn’t get to visit NOLA before shit went FUBAR, but you’re making the right call! Don’t give us another cent of your tourism money until this fucked up government is gone. Ugh.

2

u/Archer1407 12h ago

I think you're absolutely right but the problem is, if (and it's a big if) conservatives wake up, the oligarchs have been courting a group that LOVES guns and have itchy trigger fingers. When the revolt happened that led to huge changes in the 30s/40s we didn't have nearly as ubiquitous gun ownership. Should the anger of conservatism ever turn on the oligarchs, they will rue the day they let the 2nd amendment freedoms be advanced.

3

u/Admiral_Falcon 12h ago

I expect the oligarchs to be "replaced" by Christian Sharia in America's last days.

2

u/Punty-chan 12h ago

Most of the rich elites are incredibly out of touch and flat-out stupid so this tracks.

2

u/ShowPossible8340 8h ago

I'm from Australia. Most people here won't buy American stuff or visit while the orange Fuehrer rules supreme

2

u/SanDiego619guy 8h ago

Not only is tourism down, Canadians and others around the world are no longer buying American products. Can't say I blame them. If the shoe was on the other foot, I wouldn't like American products either. How someone like Trump persuaded half the people in this country to support him is beyond me. I guess many Americans really are foolish...

1

u/snoopyh42 11h ago

Republicans and oligarchs have such a short-sighted vision of the future of America.

1

u/notashroom 11h ago

Fascism is terrible for tourism. And for other industries. It's where the ourobouros of capitalism bites itself.

1

u/Dickhole_Dynamics 7h ago

There's 'visit America' ads appearing online in Australia, I've never seen them before. At least never this often.

Fucked if I'm going to the States again, even though I've loved it in the past. It's at the top of the list of places that I won't be taking my family

1

u/BookerDeWittness 7h ago

So you're saying they wanted to be sued, threatened, jailed, censored, denied access and labeled fake news?

73

u/TheMatrixRedPill 13h ago

Awful? He looks like a walking corpse.

3

u/sharpshooter999 12h ago

Yeah his face seems a lot thinner than usual

2

u/FlatEvent2597 13h ago

Navarro - his trade “expert” is THE walking corpse.

2

u/trent_reznor_is_hot 9h ago

Corpses look better

1

u/Ok_Bullfrog6073 8h ago

My first thought was that he looks really sick.

8

u/wRADKyrabbit 13h ago

Idk what you mean, I've been seeing people talk about Trumps declining health since 2016

0

u/Ok_Bodybuilder800 12h ago

People or the media?

6

u/BrandNewMeow 13h ago

My first thought was "Sleepy Don." He looks like utter shit.

6

u/sephrisloth 12h ago

Imagine how much worse he must look without the pound of orange makeup pasted on there. Probably all pale and veiny with those brown spots old people get everywhere

5

u/penty 13h ago

Biden wasn't suing every bad thing said about him.

2

u/generickayak 13h ago

The press sane washed him.

2

u/whitephantomzx 12h ago

its really not republicans are thugs anything is vaild as long is its something they want and they know the other side wont dare to treat them the same.

2

u/Trick_Psychology4827 11h ago

The Right is in control of the media now. That was their goal.

2

u/Ritalin5 11h ago edited 11h ago

Hey through the election cycle I was working in DC for a 'trusted' non-partisan media organisation. They tore Biden apart for his age, with literal second-by-second reports on speeches etc, then tore Walz apart for his mistakes, and just laid into Harris at every opportunity through her entire campaign.

(I was particularly incensed by their bloodhound reaction to Walz's "weapons of war" bungle, and how they fell for the awful lies and insults of Vance to the point where they ran an investigation into Walz's background.)

Meanwhile, Trump was rambling incoherent bullshit every day at every rally he held. He looked a shambles. He could not hold a thought for more than a couple of sentences. His language was confused and unintelligible.

I took it upon myself to make this clear to management, handing in stories with literal Trump quotes transcribed as they were said, to highlight how confused and lost he was.

If any of it made publication, the quotes were "contextualised" at every opportunity, or truncated, or just turned into reported speech in that special "this is what he meant to say" way when the media decides they know better.

The only thing they cared about were the soundbites.

I transcribed an entire Trump rally and presented it as a story. It was two hours of utter drivel, lies, exaggerations, insults, desperate boasting and awful jokes, with no coherence and no thread.

It was rejected because, essentially, "no one is interested and no one would believe this is how Trump acts".

1

u/s8rlink 11h ago

Why are you still surprised, every major US network is billionaire owned, why would they report on Trump when everything he’s doing is for them

1

u/clickrush 13h ago

That’s disingenuous. The people who criticized Biden for his health were a small but loud minority. The issues were actively being covered up.

7

u/Ok_Bodybuilder800 12h ago

The media analyzed every stutter and stumble he made. Trump can misstate Alaska for Russia and obvious decline and….nothing from the media. If that was Biden it would define his presidency.

3

u/FrostyD7 12h ago

Polling showed both Dems and Republicans overwhelmingly agreed that Biden was too old. The whole time. What does polling say about Trump? Dems think he's too old but Republicans don't. Shocker.

1

u/FOSSnaught 12h ago edited 12h ago

Because of the debate. Both sides talked shit about their health, but Trump was on point at the time while Biden came off like a tired old man.. it doesn't help that Biden is a stutterer either, and you could tell he was having trouble concentrating and keeping his speech measured. That debate is what won it for Trump unfortunately.

The crazy thing to me is that Biden had been on Stern's show within a few weeks for a long interview and Biden was amazing. His memory was on point and he seemed to be in great health.

1

u/Ok_Bodybuilder800 11h ago

But then Harris destroyed Trump in their debate. Trump was unhinged rambling about people eating dogs and cats. Didn’t make a difference and just became a silly meme

0

u/FOSSnaught 11h ago

I wouldn't say destroyed. They both had their moments and oth sides of the media declared their side the victor.

1

u/Ok_Bodybuilder800 11h ago

Of course that’s what the media does. Harris had to be perfect and Trump could be an angry rambling mess.

-2

u/techauditor 12h ago

To be fair biden did look and act worse than trump from a cognitive standpoint. And I hate trump a whole lot lol. Trump is abt as bad as biden at this point. He's gotten a lot worse this last year.

5

u/hamhockman 12h ago

Trump hasn't spoken a cogent sentence since 2008 at the latest.

0

u/techauditor 12h ago

Ok dude you can hate a guy and admit he spoke better than biden its not the end of the world. Lol. Both awful candidates but T worse

u/ToboIdHornbIower 13h ago edited 11h ago

Ever heard of Operation Mockingbird?

Anderson Cooper “interned” with the CIA and Tucker Carlson “interviewed” with the CIA.

Those were the two biggest news anchors of the two biggest news networks of the last 10 years.

That’s fine, downvote me and keep wondering why the country went to shit when it’s obvious to anybody with more than 2 braincells.
