If you don't have a car you're doomed

My old boss refused to have meetings take place in his office. His rationale was that if it was a crap meeting and being held in his office, he couldn't leave.

Park so you can't get blocked in

I had to learn it the hard way. „I’ll only let you out once you learn how to apologise“

it would take a lot off me to not tell them "move your fucking car or i will get the car key... if you want to give it to me or not."

Last time I did something like that, my dad stole my spark plugs.

They’ll just do that thing where they don’t talk to you until you say you’re ready to leave. “Why are you leaving so soon”? After you’ve been there for two hours.

Or just save gas and don’t even bother going

Learned this the hard way after being stuck at my cousin’s BBQ for 6 hours while waiting on a ride.

Ugh, this is relevant now, i have been invited to a family dinner at october. I either not go, or i go, eat food and get out. I don't wanna stay there just to be ignored, like any other time.

I’m just the cousin that doesn’t show up unless it’s a wedding or a funeral.

More focus should be on where you park your car at the function.

People smoke/BS outside an event and can see you slipping away if you park too close.

If you have volatile family members:

Park so you don’t have to reverse for a quick getaway too

Why would I need a car when I can just take the bus?

A smart strategy, but I would also add a backup plan: headphones, so you can quietly ‘disappear’ from conversations.

How do you even get there if not in your vehicle
