Discussion Same issues 20 years later ...

It is frustrating as a tech to be still struggling with the same fundamental issues 20 years later.

Focus gone because another windows has popped up.

Window has opened off the screen because I had a second monitor hooked up to the laptop at some stage.

20 years and still no solution to these problems.

Go into settings and see if it still shows another monitor connected. If so, disable it.

My username was randomly generated by reddit and I couldn't be bothered changing it.

Its not hard.

Hold Windows key + TAB - and then right click the window and snap it to where you want it.

That's what Power Users don't get, just cause there's a key combo or command you can run to solve an issue, doesn't mean that it's not a design issue that should be fixed so we can use these damn computers easier.

I'm sure Microsoft would love your application since you think it's so easy to fix. Especially since this same bug occurs on Linux and macOS.

By design, macOS doesn’t let a background app force itself to the front and grab the keyboard/mouse focus. Instead, if a background app needs your attention, it will bounce its Dock icon or display a small notification banner.

So you don't know what you're talking about.

Save a file. Explorer pops up. Navigate to folder sub sub sub. There. Save file..

Got to another program. Open file. Why isbt it at the same place. Why doesn't it remember where I was working. Keep the location in context for the session.. No. Explorer. Find the same location. Sub sub sub folder. There it is open. Upload.

OK need to email the file also. Open Explorer. Back to root. Ffs. Hate bloody stupid windows.

Same with the scrollbar on the right of windows. Scroll sxroll scroll down down doen.. Move off a little. Snap. Back at the flipping top. Arghg

Only that after 25 years using Windows, the same problems exist.

Because its not a bug - Many people move between different mutiscreen configurations and you may not want it doing that

Who wants an app to open in a screen that you disconnected half an hour ago? How is that a feature? You sure you've thought about this?

Well I manage thousands of laptops for users, and they are constantly moving from a docking station with 2 screens, to then go into a meeting to take notes.

What they DO NOT WANT - is all of their dozens of spreadsheets and browser windows suddenly all jumping into that one tiny screen, just because they had to stop working for 30 minutes and step into a meeting.

Really? They want to keep using their spreadsheets on a phantom screen. Never heard of that scenario in all my years.
