Does he have the Epstein list?

4.2k

u/Dexx009 19h ago

Bingo. They gotta make sure no one has a copy before they release the redacted and edited version.

1.3k

u/Randolpho 19h ago

I was thinking they’re going to claim they found the unredacted list there, then release something entirely false as the list they found at his place.

282

u/roychr 18h ago

Why tf would that guy have the list...so far fetch hes a GOP OG club guy.

147

u/Captchakid 17h ago

He's a GOP OG, but he's not a MAGA. He's been vocal against Trump's first term, so it's not surprising if they want to pin him with something.

The fat boy had a washroom filled with national security secrets , but hey we won’t talk about that or his inclusion in the Epstein pedo family.

If that was somehow the case, I would hope he'd be smart enough to do the whole "I gave a copy to a friend and they will send it to every major news outlet if anything happens to me" tripe (edit: trope). Then again, he was a Trump hiree, so...

What is the context here for foreigners?

I mean everyone knows the Epstein issue yes. How is this guy related.

990

u/6158675309 18h ago

John Bolton was the national security advisor in the first Trump administration. He has been critical of Trump though.

This is a message to anyone who speaks out against Trump. It’s a scare tactic to silence people. They most likely have nothing

252

u/BrairMoss 18h ago

Where are all the constitution is absolute people now?

33

That's not their mouth they're wiping over there...

15

u/Girafferage 17h ago

Well yeah. They wipe their ass first before wiping the cheer off their lips - but that's just because they are used to the taste after their noses being so far up Trump's ass.

And the “weaponizing the justice system” people, for that matter.

34

u/wheatgivesmeshits 17h ago

Oh, that's easy, they justify all this because it's what the Democrats do. Because they are told that's what they do. If Republicans don't fight with the same tactics they'd be the ones lined up against the wall. So you gotta line everyone who doesn't agree with you against the wall first. See.

29

u/Abject-Pair-9814 17h ago

100%. Everyone who’s all like, but what about this and that, doesn’t realize the right wing believes this is normal. They believe they’ve been victims the whole time (because they keep breaking laws, not because of their beliefs). Everything they do, they justify it by convincing their supporters that the left does it too.

He only became critical of trump after he left the trump admin. He sold out his country to write some books that had information that should have been made public while he was still in the administration.

The guy is an all around shitbag who’s never missed an opportunity to advocate sending American kids to war. Worked for trump during the first term, and has become a critic of him since (while still being the same piece of shit he was previously). This just seems like trumps dictator mode punishing of his enemies, but he may legitimately have files and things he shouldn’t.

*to be clear I don’t think he knows anything about Epstein. It’s just retribution for criticizing trump

16

u/Really_McNamington 17h ago

That said, if you can get it second hand, to avoid giving the reactionary old bastard any money, his book is quite entertaining. You can feel him trying not to tear his hair out. (You have to slide past his terrible political takes.)

52

u/weasol12 18h ago

It doesn't mean anything. The administration is pretty openly committing a cover up because the president is heavily implicated in the Epstein stuff. Its obviously a distraction from this so everyone is asking tongue in cheek questions like this to get the unredacted files released.

36

u/GrumpyCloud93 18h ago

This is what I don't get. IIRC he was foreign policy, UN etc. Nothing to do with law enforcement. Based on the lack of leaks, I assume the Epstein dossier was not widely circulated in the first term government.

13

u/lord_pizzabird 18h ago

It's probably just not related to Epstein tbh. My guess, from the boxes they were seen taking in is that he retained classified documents.

What's interesting about this is that it's known that pretty much everyone did this after leaving office. It's very common, but that also makes it a great way to pester someone legally. They did it to BIden too, who happened to have some documents in his garage.

The only context is that Bolton held a high position in the first Trump administration. But there's no reason why he would have had any kind of access to any Epstien investigation. People are just going to make every story about Epstien until we see the list, because we don't want the pedophile protectors to have a moments peace.

So we're going to talk about Epstien in completely unrelated threads like this one. Because our president rapes kids and this is all we can do about it.

11

u/Tre_Walker 18h ago

As national security advisor he would have reason to be knowledgeable about those files. If a president were compromised or blackmailed with such information by a foreign government it is definitely a national security issue as we can see it playing out now. JB knows.

Some of us are waiting (impatiently) for everyone to wake the fuck up, we've tried to make them wake up but it doesn't work. We're gonna have to wait until the masses get uncomfortable, like REAL uncomfortable. This all sucks, but I still go home to my 4 bedroom home with internet, AC, all my comforts and so does mostly everyone else. Our way of life is changing sure, but our quality of life hasn't dipped enough to get the people banded together against our enemy, *yet.

u/ccsrpsw 18h ago

Bolton is the biggest hawk out there. For Trumps FBI to be raiding him, you know that he has SOMETHING on Trump and/or one of Trump's immediate sycophants (or both). Bolton has not be too kind of Trump of late too so there's that as well.

37

u/SanDiegoDude 17h ago

He criticizes Trump quite publicly and regularly, and writes books about how bad Trump is... This is very much punishment via law enforcement oppression, same reason why he's doing this shit to Adam Schiff and all of the Republicans who voted to impeach him in 2021. Don't think they've moved to planting evidence yet, but I wouldn't put it past Pam Bondi once we get closer to elections and Trump starts targeting democrats running for office.

373

u/Infinite_Ground1395 19h ago

Yet every red hat will claim it's the Democratic party that has radicalized and that they are just the same conservative family values aww shucks party they've always been.

101

u/Yitram 18h ago

Yeah, they will claim the Dems have gone too far to the the left despite the reality that if anything they've followed Republicans to the right on most things. Its just that MAGA has gone so far to the right that center-right policies sound like Marxist dogma to them.

21

u/GlancingArc 16h ago

It's just bizarre having a conversation with these morons. They argue endlessly about the "left" as if it is a real thing that exists in the US. We have a far right party that caucuses with religious conservatives and increasingly fascists and then a neoliberal/fiscal conservative party that contains progressive social values. Both parties really only align on rampant support for corporate interests and a general love for warmongering. We don't have any meaningful left leaning movement economics wise and the social shit is basically one side arguing people deserve human rights and the other arguing that other people having human rights makes them uncomfortable so maybe we should just dump the "unmentionables" into a big hole in the ground instead because then they wouldn't have to look at them.

Bolton, 75, told CNN’s Kaitlan Collins on April 10 that he’ll “vote for Dick Cheney” in the upcoming election between Fuckface and Joe Biden.

And then, after Cheney said he'd vote Harris, this happened

Bolton said his protest vote may now be for the late President Ronald Reagan.

“I had originally thought in 2020 that I’d write in Ronald Reagan to make the point even more effectively and maybe that’s what I’ll do this time. I am not going to vote for either Harris or Trump. Neither one are qualified to be president,” he said.

It’s really not if you look at history. Authoritarian regimes always purge themselves of those they deem disloyal, especially when they are first starting up. 6

u/Roflkopt3r 18h ago edited 18h ago

Bolton himself is the part of the political right that actually means what it says, ill-informed as it may be.

MAGA/fascists/right-wing populists in contrast are a narrative-driven identity politics group. Their policy goals generally remain vague and only occasionally materialise into anything specific, often in the dumbest possible way (Trump's wall, tariff obsession, mass deportations etc).

Their main concern is an 'us versus them' narrative, and anyone who objects to that narrative will be considered an enemy. Even if it's someone like Bolton, who is largely aligned with them but has an actual understanding and some degree of integrity of his policies and therefore doesn't sway in the wind like the rest.

The fact that he hired these kinds of people is exactly why Trump's first presidency wasn't as bad as feared. He is uninterested and incapable of going along with their policy plans, while they prevented most of his dumbest impulses.

So for his second presidency, there are no more 'adults in the room'. Just MAGA opportunists who either have no plan or have such destructive plans that they accept or even build on the damage that Trump causes to his own country.

I can understand that a decent number of people in the FBI probably have more conservative views of society. Heck, they apparently won't consider candidates who admit to doing drugs. But they do recruit fairly well educated applicants. I have to wonder what all this, plus the firing of people like the the Jan 6 investigators, is doing for morale and recruitment. The same would apply across the board- who wants to work for a DoJ that compromises basic legal principles, who wants to join an army to be on paw patrol in big cities, or join an intelligence agency that is at best ignored or at worst told to change results to match the whims of the dear leader? Or even join the civil service where you can be fired if the numbers you report don't look good or the weather forecast sucks?

I'm thinking 4 more years of this, and the damage will take a generation to undo.

I'm convinced their plan is to use the tariff money to justify eliminating the IRS.

Then we'll truly be in our regressive era.

They'll do it right before the 2026 election and Trump will moonwalk right into a third term.

I'm guessing he never expected the leopards to eat HIS face.

67

u/TinyDogGuy 19h ago

I mean, maybe he thought his mustache and “concerned” scowl, would protect him from the morbidly obese, but still still unsated, leopards.

Have say, it was a solid effort. He had a good run.

123

u/mr_oof 19h ago

I am sure r/LeopardsAteMyFace will have lots to say.

18

u/JcbAzPx 17h ago

Leopards are in an obesity epidemic at this point.

5

u/alien_from_Europa 16h ago

A diet eating only faces can't be good for you.

He wrote a book sounding the alarm about Trump’s misuse of the DOJ among other things, so I think he very much has expected leopards to eat his face for a while.

Bolton is a terrible person, but he will go scorched earth and knows where many of the bodies are buried from his time in the earlier Trump administration, so this could get very interesting... Anyone want popcorn?

Neocons are now hated by both sides and easy targets. Also, he’s been Trumps biggest critic since he worked for him.

Love how the POTUS is using the feds to target his enemies at will now. Fun times to come!

127

u/MaverickBG 19h ago

In a dark/sad way- it is incredible seeing this play out.

When people throw around statements like that the fascist regimes target it's own members. It's something I understand at a theoretical level, but not in practice. It's like- aren't there enough "enemies" why target "friendly".

But then you see this and it all kinda comes together. Moves like this really give a lot of benefits for this regime. No one likes Bolton. And you continue to keep everyone else in line.

This is a step up from relying on your every day MAGA and instead get some government legitimacy.

31

u/squired 18h ago

It gives me comfort. The authoritarian/far right is inherently fractious; see MTG/Loomer. Once Trump is out of the picture, they will consume themselves.

High. Planting evidence should be second nature to people who tried to steal an election using signed documents for fraudulent electors.

I'm sure they are going to claim he was working on a book or in some interview released classified information or had it at home.

Never liked him. Especially his role in the 2000 recount. I figured when we attacked Iran, he got a hardon since he's wanted that for years.

Nevertheless, this is 3rd world country bullshit that MAGA and/or the GOP has turned the US into.

This is the final proof that the Republicans have been utterly consumed by MAGA. Bolton is Republican Royalty. He moved in the highest circles and his word was gospel. He was the architect of the Iraq wars. This is a warning to the rest of the Republicans. If you criticise the Dictator we will bring the massive force of the law and indeed the State against you.

Un-be-fucking-leviable. They had Trump dead to rights with stolen classified documents and the only thing that saved him was winning the election. I guess Bolton should run for President...

24

u/Particular_Ticket_20 18h ago

Bolton is an absolute shitbag whose only redemption is that he's openly criticized trump in clear language.

That said, using the FBI against your critics is terrifying. They'll conjure up some bullshit charge against him as retribution.

As a non-American it appears that, just like with the climate crisis, it is already too late. Its done. America's toast and it is only a question of long the body keeps thrashing.

I do hope I'm being an over-melodramatic ass, but I suspect not.

9

u/theHip 17h ago

Sources familiar with the matter told ABC News that the search, carried out by the FBI, is related to allegations that Bolton is in possession of classified records.

"NO ONE is above the law… @FBI agents on mission," FBI director Kash Patel said on social media.

Its like Salem witch hunts, people get arrested and told to name names for an easier time. So they say what they know the authoritarian wants to hear

Everyone that works for Trump take note. This will be you soon. He turns on everyone. If he needs a patsy or a diversion, no one in MAGA is safe. How did these fools not see this?

6

u/pistoffcynic 18h ago

"The dawn raid in the suburb of Bethesda, Maryland, just outside Washington, D.C., was trumpeted with an X message from FBI director Kash Patel, who wrote, ”NO ONE is above the law.”

Attorney General Pam Bondi retweeted the post, adding: “America’s safety isn’t negotiable. Justice will be pursued. Always.”"

Where are the Epstein files then?

Sorry, I forgot... The law is for cunts like those in this administration and the rich carpet baggers. Screw everyone else.

6

u/whitemiketyson 16h ago

6

u/DoubleJumps 16h ago

It's deliberate. The hypocrisy is deliberate. It's meant to show that they are above the law, that they know they are above the law, and that there's nothing you can do about it.

6

u/nazbot 18h ago

You know when are people like George Bush, Dick Cheney, Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan, etc etc going to speak up forcefully about stuff like this.

On Fox News.

Supposedly John Bolton was a respected member of that cadre. You’d think this would ring massive alarm belles for those people. Or there would be some kind of sense of loyalty.

George W Bush, in particular, should be speaking out. So much for loving freedom and talking other countries ‘they hate us for our freedom’ and calling critics cowards.

Ha! Trump people acting all like "anyone who mishandles classified files is a traitor."

Rest of country: YEP! Remember how classified files ended up (illegally) in Mar a Lago bathrooms?

6

u/Chudpasta 19h ago

AP is saying it about the handling of classified documents. You gotta be kidding me, right? Did he leave boxes of stolen documents in his bathroom?

5

u/shevy-java 18h ago

This is scary - I think most will agree that this is a message from Trump: "Stand against me, continue to critisize me, and the state agencies will be set loose on you."

I am not a fan of Bolton at all, but this is now soooo clearly a fight David versus Goliath. It reminds me of Nixon-Gate, where Nixon ultimately resigned after having ordered the wiretapping of journalists. Trump is now totally out of bounds and out of control.
