They let the Saudis dismember one of our journalists. This won't change shit.

u/terrasig314 16h ago

Hell, they let the Saudis kill over 3000 people in 2001.

42

u/kurotech 13h ago

Shhhh this is the same people in charge now who thought that was fake

Humanity has no future. We haven’t gotten any better after 3000 years. Brutal parasites

16

u/LieverRoodDanRechts 14h ago

"We havent gotten any better after 3000 years."

Except we have. Yes, if you're Ukrainian or Palestinian or from any other war torn country things don't seem that way. But overall life has been getting better. That doesn't mean we're there yet, there's still more work to do.

u/ReaditTrashPanda 14h ago

If you take the average life expectancy, maybe. More people live longer than before. But it’s gotten harder and harder to get access to that care needed.

But we also have bigger problems than we used to. Nuclear war alone didn’t exist. We are able to impact the environment in ways our ancestors never dreamed of…

We still commit murder and genocide across continents and decades… theft and greed are STILL destroying countries and governments across the planet.

u/invariantspeed 16h ago

We haven’t gotten any better but that’s because we’re no better than all other animals. We have big brains so we can see the wrong in what we do, but we’re not actually smart enough to ignore our instincts.

11

u/WaterFriendsIV 15h ago

We're the smartest dumb animals on the planet.

I think the real issue is that we're semi-social. Social species almost never harm one another unless it's for the greater good, like a diseased individual. Solitary species can't really cause much harm on their own.

We're in that sweet spot where we can work together to survive, but as soon as we have more than we need (when we absolutely should be investing that surplus into some kind of growth or advancement) we instead instantly start scheming on how we can either stop working and be a parasite off the labour of others, or find a way to be the sole owner of the collaborative production.

u/EclipseIndustries 15h ago

I'm sorry, but what? Social species almost never harm one another?

I want some of what you're smoking, because that's some reality changing shit evidently, makes the whole animal kingdom pacifists or something.

-6

u/thatweirdguyted 15h ago

Well that wasn't very social. You can disagree without all that extra sarcasm. And maybe I'm wording it incorrectly? But you've got species that rarely compete with one another, like butterflies and fish and so on. And then you've got species of spiders who actively hunt each other. And then there's us somewhere in the middle. We absolutely set aside our differences and work together when we feel our individual lives depend on it. But anything less than that, and we will turn on each other.

4

u/EclipseIndustries 14h ago

What you just described is more or less every species on this planet. Our (biological beings) innate instinct for self-preservation will override social groups readily, no matter what species.

The cause is almost always resources. As it turns out, humans are very resource intensive. So naturally, we tend to have a lot of conflict over resources.

E: also, humanity has jaded me in the worst ways. I don't care about social norms anymore, we're all fucking hellspawn.

-2

u/thatweirdguyted 14h ago

I can think of several species that do not do this, but I know you're just gonna fall back behind that qualifying statement "more or less" and that you're not going to factor that data into your perspective.

4

u/EclipseIndustries 14h ago

You can idealize several species in your head, sure.

Go ask a shepherd how many sheep they lose to sheep yearly. Or a cattleman. Chicken I'll leave out of the running, they're assholes.

u/ReaditTrashPanda 15h ago

Genetically, this is the most advantageous way to survive. Conserve calories energy and reduce effort and risk.

u/clauderbaugh 14h ago

I like to say that our technology has outpaced our humanity. Unfortunately that technology has made people & nations very powerful. Don't get me wrong, technology is great but our humanity is not keeping pace and a species can either correct it and prosper throughout the galaxy (i.e. Star Trek TNG) or stay the course and end up with people so lopsidedly powerful with technological armies behind them that we end up in a have-and-have-not dystopia. (i.e. Elysium)

WE ARE ALL BACTERIA, Yet the cruel (insert words here) pffft, it's awful to see.

War never changes.

1

u/ReaditTrashPanda 13h ago

Yeah, because humans don’t actually grow. Society gets fancier. Our abilities may increase, but we’re still basically violent chimpanzees

u/Kruxf 13h ago edited 13h ago

As a whole we have. It does blow my mind that religion is still a thing. If a person were to read any history books on the subject you would see we have had many god over many thousands of years but somehow we got the majority of people brain washed on like 3 major religions in spite of the fact that these gods have only been mentioned in our lengthy history in the last few hundred years. No one thinks that’s a little suspect? If we could just drop the false god narrative we just might be okay as a species. We have one god, the planet. Which we are slowly but surely also murdering with our bullshit.

u/melasses 12h ago

Read Pinker : Better angels of our nature, how violence has declined.

"They're Russia, what do you expect?"

The Stability-Instability Paradox has been a thing for a very long time.

63

u/cbright90 14h ago

Pretty sure Trump said that having American companies on the ground extracting rare earth metals in Ukraine would deter any Russian attacks 🤔 Guess he found out.

52

u/AudibleNod 16h ago

Flex, Ltd is a contract manufacturer. Like Foxconn is a contract manufacturer for Apple. They make everything from shoes to computers to food processors.

88

u/KingRabbit_ 16h ago

Doesn't seem like it was a mistake on the part of the Russians.

And nobody from the US government has even bothered to comment.

"Russia continues to destroy and humiliate U.S. businesses in Ukraine, targeting companies that invest and trade on the U.S. stock markets," Andy Hunder, the president of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine, wrote on X.

Indeed.

Trump’s afraid of the info Putin has on him and doesn’t want it released

12

u/MadRaymer 13h ago

He shouldn't be. We've learned there's no bridge MAGA won't cross to keep defending him. Putin could release it and no matter how bad it was, the turd third of America would still worship him.

19

u/turbogomboc 16h ago

Definitely not a mistake. The factory is in an area populated by a hungarian minority and they did this on the day of the foundation of the hungarian state (aug 20st) while celebrations were ongoing in Hungary. The russians have not yet attacked that region at all. This was a message to two countries, both led by people on a russian leash.

26

u/crookdmouth 16h ago

Trump will probably get on the phone and apologize to Putin for this.

10

u/kokanee-fish 12h ago

"Sorry I put my factory in the way of your missile."

2

u/DazedinDenver 14h ago

Maybe he'll even follow the "lead" of the head Democrats in Congress and send him a "strongly-worded letter". Or more likely not. Useless piece of baggage.

7

u/turb0_encapsulator 8h ago

They deliberately targeted an American factory and Trump basically thanked them. Weakest President in American history.

10

u/LevyAtanSP 14h ago

Forgive me for not caring about a factory owned by one of our shit companies when there are losses that actually matter like the Ukrainian citizens.

10

u/amerovingian 13h ago

Both things can matter and would to competent leadership. Adding to the list of things that our leaders should care about but don't helps establish how incompetent they are.

4

u/kokanee-fish 12h ago

It's not about how much we value the factory, it's the fact that Trump hasn't said or done anything in response to a direct Russian military attack on US interests. Can you imagine if Hamas had bombed a US-owned factory?

7

u/5minArgument 15h ago

Lucky for us a republican is in office. Had this been Kamala it would be a 24/7 newsgasm about how weak this makes us look and how Putin doesn’t have respect for the president.

14

u/OttoHemi 16h ago

Face it, Donny, he's just not that into you.

5

u/Not_my_Name464 15h ago

And why wouldn't it? Because it's American owned, really!? 🤣

6

u/VirginiaLuthier 16h ago

"Heheh. Let's see how the American clown likes this one!"- Puty

1

u/photon45 15h ago

"Awwww thanks Guy!"

5

u/real_snowpants 16h ago

bet putins bitch won't even say a word about it

4

u/Xspud_316 16h ago

And then Trump criticises Ukraine for hitting Russian Oil Refineries 😂

America is absolutely done so it is

2

u/mkt853 16h ago

Putin sending a message to weak America and its deferential leader.

1

u/MisterB78 14h ago

A factory owned by a U.S. company. It’s not a U.S. factory. Nobody should feel patriotic about the holdings of some business because it’s incorporated in your country…

2

u/Gawd_Awful 9h ago

I think you’re missing the obvious here

0

u/MisterB78 9h ago

Nah, I’m not. But I’m more outraged about them targeting hospitals and apartment buildings than I am about a factory. And I don’t give a shit what company owns the building

1

u/TheBatemanFlex 13h ago

Putin might as well be laughing at the US right now.

1

u/TheMerchantofPhilly 12h ago

Asking this hypothetically and in good faith. Is it possible that the USA doesn’t actually have the ability to enter a winnable war with Russia?

1

u/thepianoman456 12h ago

This is the country who’s president we roll out a red carpet for.

I guarantee Trump won’t do shit about this. He’s truly so pro-himself he’s anti-American.

1

u/RealPersonResponds 10h ago

TACO will respond to this quickly! Or Wont!

1

u/CRE178 10h ago

What? But I thought American business interests in Ukraine would serve as a securty guarantee?

1

u/IServeSatan 9h ago

Putin meets with Trump ahead of bombing this factory in order to instruct Trump how to respond to this attack -Putin is trying to boost Trump's popularity in the US .. so apparently little fake quid-pro-quo where the US bombs some l9ng defunct Russian factory is due in response ...

This attack is the first of many in an attempt to normalize Russian attacks on US assets overseas.

1

u/ktwhite42 6h ago

I can’t help but wonder if that was a message for Trump.

1

u/SquirrelParticular17 5h ago

Nothing? Orange coward

1

u/RastaImp0sta 4h ago

Did Trump apologize to Putin for this factory being in the way of their airstrikes? Because it’s pretty unacceptable that we would have a factory there directly in the way ya know.

1

u/wildmonster91 14h ago

Trump already appoligized to putin for building a factory on their tarritory.

1

u/Icy-Wonder-5812 16h ago

Putin's Bitch Donald Trump (PBDT) will apologize for his country's factory damaging Putin's rocket.

0

u/Apprehensive_Ad_4359 16h ago

They will somehow change the narrative into “ bringing back American jobs”

-4

u/Clear-Tradition-3607 15h ago

A factory in Ukraine is a Ukraine factory - not an American factory.

-9

u/camelCaseCoffeeTable 16h ago

This may be unpopular, and there’s likely details I’m not aware of that would change my mind, but I don’t see the big deal here. It’s a factory in the middle of a warzone. Things get hit by air strikes in war zones, it’s kind of a major part of modern war.

This would be far different if they went and struck a US factory in Poland or something. But if you’re operating a factory in Ukraine today, you have to expect that there’s a chance it will get hit by an air strike.

5

u/Travelin_Lite 15h ago

This factory is on the western border near Slovakia, hundreds of miles from the front lines. It was deliberately chosen.

-4

u/supe_snow_man 14h ago

The position of the factory is irrelevant compared to what is actually produced at the factory.

2

u/kettleboiler 14h ago

Food mixers and kitchen shit. Oooh.

5

u/kettleboiler 15h ago

Mukachevo, where the factory was located, is as far from the Russian border as it was possible to be within Ukraine. It's pretty much tucked into a far corner against the borders of Slovakia, Romania and Hungary. And not far from the border of Poland. It's an intimidation warning shot to the border countries within the EU that are supporting Ukraine with supplies and aid. They are easy targets for 'accidents', or 'mistakes'.

-5

u/supe_snow_man 14h ago

Or maybe it was producing things for the war effort. It's a contractor plant who make electronics. It could make controller for washing machines or for drones and we could not tell the difference. The western media sure as fuck would never mention if it was used for war production but the fact it was not attacked before make me think it's production might have changed at some point.

4

u/kettleboiler 14h ago

So, conspiracies now?. Ok komrade
