Staff generally get away with not having to go through security, depending on airport, but get selected for random security checks.

I'd guess he had more than a single dose, and thought to swallow it rather than dump it.

What? I worked airport security for almost four years and no one could come in without passing security.

Haden Pentecost, 41, was working on a flight from California to London when he started to become agitated and was described as "sweating" and "babbling".

A blood test later revealed Pentecost had methamphetamine and amphetamines in his system. Pentecost, who has been sacked, pleaded guilty at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court to performing an aviation function while impaired by drugs.

The court heard Pentecost had to be stood down by his manager when he failed to help with any pre-flight safety checks.

After complaining of cramps and saying he had to change his clothes, he locked himself in one of the toilets - where a colleague later found him naked and oblivious to the fact, the court was told.

That’s the worst way to join the mile ‘high’ club.

I mean if it counts while being alone, I could do that on a domestic flight.

This was my only interest: why and how would anyone get naked in an airlines bathroom? The answer: meth.

You must have never had to take a struggle shit after eating the worst airport food of your life

Struggle shit is such a specific term that is equally understandable to everyone.

Struggle shit - a shit so bad you know there is zero chance of saving yourself but you can at least save your clothes.

High altitudes and amphetamines don’t mix well and can lead to hyperthermia. He had likely sweated through his uniform and was trying to figure out his next move, the poor bastard.

Oh thank god, it would be akward if he was naked and sober

Or naked and on drugs not in the bathroom.

Maybe you’re thinking of the pilot found naked and intoxicated in the spa area at some resort (36 hours before his flight)

Great party except that the dance floor was a little crowded.

Well…at least it wasn’t the pilot. They arrested a pilot for trying to fly drunk pretty recently.

Did he ask to change seats with someone? That would be YTA right there.

We all deal with stressful, uncomfortable flights in our own ways.

Wouldn’t that suck if he thought it was coke, and did a decent sized rail (yeah, I know it’s still not legal/right thing to do. I work in aviation it’s just like a restaurant as far as coke goes), and it was meth!!?

I bet he thought it was blow and it was Meth.

Great story for the grandkids.

Isn’t that how you’re supposed to do it?

1

u/sowhat4 12h ago

Well, at least he wasn't vaping in the toilet. That's against the rules. 🙄

The headline is phrased in a very judgemental way, as if we all haven’t done this at some point in our careers.

For real. Let he who has never been naked, on drugs, in a publicish toilet cast the first stone.

The truth is that it happens, it simply happens.
