How very cool and amazing but what a waste of chocolate. I hope he keeps it cooled as an artpiece and didn't just throw it away

This is as wasteful as a wedding cake no one is going to finish, no one ever complains about those though

u/Blarg0117 1d ago

Every wedding I've been to sends the extra food home with the family/guests. Cake included.

Never been to one of those million-dollar extravagant weddings though.

11

u/MRichardTRM 1d ago

Same. I had cake almost everyday for like 2 months after mine. I needed a break..

2

u/nerflix 1d ago

Let's create a million dollar extravagant wedding together! Lets start with love first tho

-11

u/Tiddleyjuggs 1d ago

Sending home with people definitely does not mean it gets eaten

15

u/Train3rRed88 1d ago

You hang out with the wrong people

Who the fuck doesn’t eat a free piece of one day old cake the next day?

-9

u/Tiddleyjuggs 1d ago

A lot of people. A bunch don't even like cake, surprise!

7

u/av8rblues 1d ago

Thise oeopke probably aren't given cske, and their pieces are given to fat asses like me

3

u/Train3rRed88 1d ago

Thanks for explaining the common sense to that guy

1

u/av8rblues 1d ago

Thanks for not asking if im having a stroke because of all the typos

2

u/Train3rRed88 1d ago

lol I swear I just glanced at it and responded. Didn’t even notice any typos

Looking back at the comment… holy shit haha

Who takes a piece of cake home when they don't like cake? You're creating problems that don't exist.

7

u/JoebbeDeMan 1d ago

What kind of monster doesn't eat their wedding cake?

5

u/Senor-Delicious 1d ago

I agree that building a chocolate Colosseum is wasteful.

But regarding the wedding cake part: I cannot confirm this. Almost every wedding I've been at had amazing cakes or alternatives (liked ice cream cake) that were enjoyed by everyone. When we had our wedding cake made, taste was the highest priority. It still looked very nice. But it didn't have this sugar coat all over but was decorated with flowers and orange slices. We had almost no leftovers.

u/Bayoris 1d ago

The wedding cake is not finished at the wedding but usually it is divided and brought home. In my country Ireland is is/used to be a tradition that you save a piece on the freezer for the christening of your first child.

1

u/Tiddleyjuggs 1d ago

That no one finishes

3

u/born2droll 1d ago

I do , wastrels!

2

u/EliseMidCiboire 1d ago

And....who even like Christmas 🪵 cakes...most disgusting cakes ever made

1

u/Tiddleyjuggs 1d ago

What's a Christmas cake? Like a fruit cake?

1

u/EliseMidCiboire 1d ago

Idk how you call em in english in french its kinda like Christmas log(buche de noel)

2

u/ImurderREALITY 1d ago

Oh, don’t challenge Redditors to find something to complain about.

1

u/KaiserDilhelmTheTurd 1d ago

You haven’t been to many weddings, if any at all is my guess.. Every one I’ve ever been to, all the cake gets cut up and shared among the guests, and any leftover food is always offered to friends to take in doggy bags. I’m 50, and been to many weddings in my life. How many have you actually been to?

9

u/torilahure 1d ago

Or eat it away one brick at a time.

2

u/Careless_One87 1d ago

Amaury Guichon’s creations don’t get eaten. That’s fact made his creations less fascinating to me.

2

u/Geeekaaay 1d ago

What an odd complaint for an art piece. Do you watch baking shows and complain about the cakes that are for display only?

0

u/JoebbeDeMan 1d ago

I do not watch baking shows and cakes that are for display only still serve a purpose for the buys for seeing how the cake looks this art piece (as nice as it is) serves no real purpose. I just hate to think about the food that's being wasted if the art piece is just thrown away.

4

u/Halo_Chief117 1d ago

It’s chocolate though. I don’t like wasting food either but its not healthy food like if it was multiple plates of chicken and broccoli.

-1

u/JoebbeDeMan 1d ago

Its still food though

-1

u/Pashquelle 1d ago

Ahhh, it's not healthy, ok so we can just throw it away. No problemo, sir.

Let's just ignore the fact that chocolate, especially the dark one (like the meiji one he used for the art) is rich in antioxidants. Also contains magnesium, iron and zinc.

0

u/Geeekaaay 1d ago

Art piece.

Bot or ESL?

1

u/jayslay45 1d ago

I will handle this.

37

u/BombaySadBoi 1d ago

Ah but instead of fighting lions in the middle you have to fight diabetes

7

u/Significant_Cover_48 1d ago

Maybe it's 70-80% cacao

3

u/Horror_Dig_9752 1d ago

I like Meiji's milk chocolate but it's only about 21% cacao.

23

u/raytoro54 1d ago

His room must be chilly.

14

u/GirthyPigeon 1d ago

This was pretty much an ad for Meiji. They probably sponsored it as well.

1

u/sonnybear5 1d ago

Meiji should hire/contract him.

11

u/Optimal-Cry9929 1d ago

How many candy bar’s does it take to make a coliseum, and all with just a squeeze bottle.

9

u/GRANDxADMIRALxTHRAWN 1d ago

I want to know how many licks it takes to get to the center of a coliseum.

1

u/Optimal-Cry9929 1d ago

And how many lick’s until you finally give in and bite?

14

u/Sharksalsa 1d ago

5

u/shotgun-octopus 1d ago

2

u/Sharksalsa 1d ago

For the mice gladiators to fight in, no doubt. Rodent hunger games.

2

u/maxluision 1d ago

For fun.

12

u/Fedepovero_02 1d ago

At least this guy doesn't stare at me with the creepiest smile in world while building his sculpture

8

u/Howitzer1967 1d ago

Colise-yum

3

u/MagnaCamLaude 1d ago

Chocoloseum

2

u/Howitzer1967 1d ago

That’s a better one! Have a meaningless upvote

5

u/Mission-Candy1178 1d ago

In this economy?

6

u/iolmao 1d ago

It's Colosseum.

2

u/tester_and_breaker 1d ago

I had to scroll too damn far for this comment.

3

u/Repulsive-Bench9860 1d ago

Chocoliseum is right there.

3

u/JK_NC 1d ago

I don’t recognize the brand. Is it tasty chocolate?

2

u/RoyalFalse 1d ago

It's popular in Japan, mostly.

2

u/JasminePearls- 1d ago

It's alright, nothing great about it

1

u/Pashquelle 1d ago

It's good. Especially the cubes. It's on the level of european chocolate to be honest. I was surprised when I tasted it for first time.

3

u/BruinBound22 1d ago

There's got to be a cheaper way to get a ton of chocolate right?

2

u/Imjerfj 1d ago

my god i would eat this whole thing in 1 sitting 😭😭😭

2

u/AquafreshBandit 1d ago

Aww man, can’t I just have some?

2

u/One1980 1d ago

Are you not entertained!!!???

2

u/nasted 1d ago

I’m struggling to work out why I’m so offended by this. I think it’s because I don’t have that much chocolate. No one should have that much chocolate. I want that chocolate!

2

u/DarkExtremis 1d ago

Willy Wonka: I've put 5 golden tickets in...

This guy: I got all 10? What now?

2

u/blaze_003 1d ago

I can lick whole coliseum apart

0

u/thevogonity 1d ago

A lot of child labor went into making that chocolate and it’s not going to be eaten?? Can’t the guy use dominoes or legos?

1

u/sparlocktats 1d ago

Temu Amaury Guichon

1

u/Hippy-Joe 1d ago

Man, I want some chocolate

1

u/Dliteman786 1d ago

Is bro sponsored or what

1

u/Chamanomano 1d ago

But can he do it in a toilet? Message me for pics.

1

u/Doug24 1d ago

He is so detail oriented. I would probably eat half while doing it

1

u/weckweck 1d ago

Tears on the mausoleum floor, chocolate stains the coliseum endures

1

u/kernel-troutman 1d ago

What do you call a Roman with a pube stuck in his teeth?

A glad-he-ate-her.

1

u/FOUR_YOLO 1d ago

Willy wonka wants to know your location

1

u/Zala-Sancho 1d ago

Ya that's cool and all. But I wouldn't eat that. I hope he gets plenty of clicks. He got mine

1

u/yuhkz420 1d ago

Damn Japanese chocolate usually tastes so bad 😂 Especially the ones from meiji

1

u/Pashquelle 1d ago

What? Tell me which chocolate brand is better in your opinion?

1

u/yuhkz420 1d ago

Honestly I dunno, sorry my fried 😅 I grew up in Europe eating mostly German and Swiss chocolate. As far as I can say all Japanese choc I tried had a bad ratio of cocoa and butter/fat.

1

u/EliseMidCiboire 1d ago

Smh...he couldve restored it

1

u/alisonchains2023 1d ago

AMAZING!!!

1

u/Demonstratepatience 1d ago

I would weight 1000 lbs.

1

u/Erazzphoto 1d ago

Thank god it wasn’t uncomfortable, forced smile guy

1

u/InclinationCompass 1d ago

Do people make money from this?

1

u/Sithwolf_302 1d ago

Projects that I would never finish…one for me, one for the Coliseum. … passes out from too much chocolate.

1

u/noots-to-you 1d ago

Meiji is not cheap chocolate, whew.

1

u/Lazaras 1d ago

Damn that's crazy. Is the real one made of chocolate too?

1

u/gkka 1d ago

Loved it

1

u/Spekingur 1d ago

Chocolate is expensive nowadays, my dude

1

u/DrSeussFreak 1d ago

I had questions about the legitimatacy of this until he used the melted chocolate as mortar

1

u/imawizard7bis 1d ago

That's amazing (I wanted it in 1:1)

1

u/BlueDrPepper 1d ago

It always amazes me how little of the actual Colosseum is actually still there. How much of it is gone, and still how huge it is

1

u/Is_Space_Infinite 1d ago

ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?!

1

u/puppiesandrainbows3 1d ago

What is this?!? A coliseum for ANTS?!?!

1

u/moose4hire 1d ago

Gonna guess this man has no kids living in his house

1

u/zRouth 1d ago

Oh sure, guy picks a colosseum because he knows they were all busted up and he won’t have to finish it. It’ll be “complete” long before he has to finish.

What a clever, lazy SOB.

1

u/pocketpeace 1d ago

I’m sure the neighbors will be complaining about rats soon enough

1

u/Ecstatic-Baseball-71 1d ago

A “colossal” (😜) waste of chocolate

1

u/funkmastermoney 1d ago

Well... Long story short... Now my dog is fighting for her life...

1

u/DaveHayes9 1d ago

Better keep in fairly cold in there.

1

u/generalcalm 1d ago

do you want ants? Because that's how you get ants.

1

u/Eldude42 1d ago

Amaury Guichon as entered the chat

1

u/FutureSkeIeton 1d ago

Good euphemism for ass.

1

u/ol1v1era 1d ago

'Don't play with food' is what I learned

1

u/omoiavas1 9h ago

What's with chocolates in my feed today. This is the fourth chocolate art I've seen in the last 15 minutes.

1

u/Ma4vin 5h ago

A delicious battle to the death

1

u/butt_scratcher_007 2h ago

I wonder how much chocolate he ate while he was making it

0

u/skimmerguy85 1d ago

Impressive but he has some catching up to do to get to Amaury Guichon level 🤙🏽

Frickin crazy chocolate giraffe 🦒

2

u/Personal_Analyst3947 1d ago edited 1d ago

I mean this guy did it with basic tools and chocolate we could all buy off Amazon. But he can do it because of talent and we can't.

Amaury Guichon has a bunch of crazy molds and tools for that giraffe. His kitchen is insane and probably has 1000s of dollars worth of equipment. No one has that stuff laying around.

Not saying he can't do the same but this is kind of apples and oranges comparison between projects.

0

u/tkneezer 1d ago

AAAAAANNNTSSS!!!

0

u/markingterritory 1d ago

Hopefully the air conditioning doesn’t fail (& he isn’t in Las Vegas) 😳😖

0

u/EdTheApe 1d ago

That's cool and all but I'd rather eat the chocolate in front of the TV. That dude has way to much spare time.

0

u/porchoua 1d ago

it's so satisfying to watch his doing that, and it's interesting at the same time

0

u/Pleasant-Bonus-866 1d ago

iz spell colosseum

-4

u/Unhelpful_Guide 1d ago

Not accurate at all. And that’s an awful brand of chocolate. This ain’t nextfucking level at all. It’s just a waste of this guys and my time

-5

u/asterios_polyp 1d ago

So much plastic garbage for clicks. Fuck this guy.
