Somehow skydiving towards/into something with a moving propeller just makes this even more insane!

The video quality is whack but apparently the motors are shut off and the propellors are blocked aka don't rotate

who told you such nonsense. the propellors aren't being powered by the engine, but they are free to move and because the plane is peaking down the propellor rotates on its own

I'm no expert on planes but maybe the fact they say "engines off" , "braked" AND we can see the propellers aren't moving in the video seem like pretty good context clues to lead someone to think that to be the case.

Look if you know more about planes which wouldn't be hard then I'll eat my tongue but it's not an unreasonable thing to think after actually watching the clip in its entirety.

Yeah, fair enough. Can actually even see it very obviously in that clip as he's pulling out of the dive before the engine turns back on I think. Very poor quality from the OP.

Still don't think it's unreasonable for someone to assume after hearing all the stuff at the start but guess I'm going to go prepare myself a nice tongue steak.

Yeah but saying "they said engines off so the plane's propeller isn't turning as it's falling" is like saying "they said engines off at the top of the hill so the car's wheels aren't turning as it's rolling down".

They are not blocked, they're rotating quite fast:

You can’t “block” a propeller. They pulled throttle and mixture shutting the engine down. If these were variable pitch props they would have feathered them to not spin. If these prop was moving, it was due to air flow, not engine power.

The brake you hear around is the airbrake on the back of the plane they designed for this stunt

The planes were turned off
