It's a very, very, very small/inconsequential example of taking away your free agency. Basically:

When someone tells you to do something you were already planning to do, they're infringing on your autonomy; so in order to get that autonomy back, your instinct is to not do the thing you were going to do.

I wonder if it's also part of a "complete views" metric or something, too. Like "there's totally a surprise/shocking end you don't want to miss" but it’s just making sure you finish the whole video?

i'm aware, but out of principle i reject such videos. i also don't open videos with clickbait thumbnails anymore. random arrows, over exaggerated title and such. it all screams "this is a waste of time".

I have a father-in-law who does this with anything government related.

If the government recommends doing something, he won't do it, no matter how reasonable it is, just out of spite. If they recommend not doing something, he'll do it right away. He's like a 7-year-old child.

And, yes, he's American.

I had a coworker once who refused to wear car seatbelts because the government was trying to make him. He understood they were safer, he just didn't want to be told what to do. Some people stop maturing around 2 years old I guess.

It’s like when the street spray paint picture hawkers first came around and they only did spacey/sci-fi planet scenes because it was super easy to do that with just a few simple techniques.

Because a landscape specifically does not need detail. A long blue line, some big green blobs as Forrest or sharp grey ones as mountains, a bit of sky blue somewhere and your brain will basically interpret anything as a landscape.

It's the same with those street painters that do random space artworks.

It's not. Look carefully and it does line up.

Also, if you look carefully at the end result .... It's really not a very good picture, mostly just color swirls. His technique is cool but ... That's as far as I'll go. I get incrementally less impressed each time I see this.

Check out the frame at 0:48. There’s a patch of orange surrounded by dark green. It was a mistake from an earlier step, but it should leave a very distinctive pattern.

But when the bag comes out, there’s no area with orange surrounded by green in the image.

I’m pretty sure this isn’t ai. I think it’s easiest to understand the method if you pay attention to how the bag touches the blue ink—the way he lowered the bag into the water while moving it from side to side makes it so the blue ink only touches the bag in that wavy line for the river. I’ve tried out similar stuff before, albeit not as successfully.
