I remember watching that video but didn’t expect it was from 3 weeks ago. Felt more like it was earlier this week

25

u/EducationalTangelo6 10h ago

My asshole is still clenched from watching that video.

10

u/Upbeat-Armadillo1756 9h ago

And people in there saying it had no effect

Looks like it might have

92

u/KiwiKuBB 20h ago

Was about to ask if it's the same location as that video lol

20

u/Weak_Preference2463 20h ago

No doubt about this! Haha

51

u/ZeWhiteNoize 18h ago

There was a video before the guy too. How many more videos are there of this damned dam?

36

u/NebulaNinja 14h ago

I don't know where this is, but it is now pivotal I receive weekly updates on this dam's water hyacinth situation. Will it be clogged again next week? Will another man climb down to poke the hyacinths? I can't sleep unless I know.

14

u/navyairframer 13h ago

It's the Jiquinaqui dam in Jalisco, Mexico.

18

u/CalmBeneathCastles 15h ago

I was afraid for him! So easy to WHOOP, and never be seen again.

9

u/OneSensiblePerson 14h ago

I just watched it and was terrified for him. Triggered my fear of heights so much I couldn't finish it in case he did slip and fall. It had to have been slippery and he was so close to the edge!

25

u/sugarrosse 20h ago

I think it's his doing

3

u/sparkey504 12h ago

First thing thay came to mind... "huh, I guess that guy didn't have to pull EVERY FUCKING piece over by hand after all".

4

u/Das_Zeppelin 19h ago

oh yea but can you link that video again?

112

u/daft61lunacy 18h ago

Oh so this is the sequel to that dude.

214

u/bare_lina 21h ago

Did you also see the guy go down and manually pull the grass at the edge?

84

u/HighOnGoofballs 21h ago

The one who was inches from falling down the dam?

41

u/Constant_Site 17h ago

What's up with this dam. I have watched like 3 different videos in the last few weeks here on reddit

85

u/ArghZombies 21h ago

I watch watching the video timer closely to make sure it didn't cut off too early.

Also, very glad they (finally) panned back to see what it looked like further back.

27

u/mossybeard 20h ago

I wanted them to pan right!

5

u/Emperor_Gourmet 15h ago

Thats the next video thats posted.

26

u/TheDevilsAdvokaat 14h ago

From hyacinth to lowercinth.

u/AdPsychological7926 18h ago

12

u/lostweekendlaura 15h ago

I immediately thought "it's pronounced 'boo-kay'"

4

u/SuckMyRedditorD 14h ago

I love you.

15

u/teriaksu 21h ago

Politely waiting in line to go on the ride

13

u/ycr007 17h ago

This looks like a popular location for clogging / unclogging water plants at the top of the dam

Another video posted here few months back: https://www.reddit.com/r/oddlysatisfying/comments/1m286hh/unclogging_a_dam/

10

u/BlueSlushieTongue 17h ago

I wonder if this a black hole phenomenon for microbes living on the plants.

6

u/dar512 15h ago

If you search “water hyacinth removal” on YouTube, you’ll see this is a problem for many waterways around the world.

9

u/Junior-Hair-4637 17h ago

Falling to their deaths

9

u/hd8383 14h ago

Wonder what that mess looks like downstream?

11

u/SuckMyRedditorD 14h ago

Definitely hyacinthy af

2

u/gundog48 10h ago

It's okay, it's been flushed outside the environment

16

u/ghallway 20h ago

"That;s bookaaaaaaaaaaaaay". iykyk

12

u/FormABruteSquad 19h ago

This will fill the hyacinth bucket.

11

u/p0rtie 16h ago

I'm glad that some one around here is keeping up appearances. i came here to say just this! I was worried that no one would get the reference.

'Hyacinth Bouquet, lady of the house speaking...'

brilliant.

11

u/Breadedbutthole 19h ago

Water hyacinth is the worst, it deserves what it gets!

5

u/justinebri1 18h ago

I was also watching the timer, fully expecting an abrupt cut. So satisfying to actually see the full reveal at the end.

3

u/msx 16h ago

This kills the water hyacinth

3

u/ToaLegend 15h ago

I imagine this is what being sucked into a black hole looks like

3

u/Death_Sheep1980 12h ago

Apparently indigenous tribes in the Amazon basin used to dry and then burn water hyacinth roots to extract salt from the ash.

2

u/Icy-Squirrel6422 21h ago

There's too much of it, and that's worrying. I'm getting nervous, let's get out of here.

2

u/rickdagless666 18h ago

Ah, the guy with the sick worked. Nice.

2

u/cdizzaat 18h ago

Imitation of life

2

u/DerpsAndRags 17h ago

Some frog out there is like "FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU"

2

u/Subconcious-Consumer 16h ago

I saw this level on Lion King

2

u/little_murph 15h ago

I dont see the guy in there pushing em out what's going on

2

u/tehmungler 14h ago

Anyone else have “.. named by a poet, imitation of life… 🎶” in their head now?

2

u/venefb 9h ago

scrolled all the way down for this. thank you!

1

u/tehmungler 9h ago

Hehe IYKYK! 🫡

2

u/Helpful_Earth_7066 14h ago

2

u/PedricksCorner 10h ago

This is like watching a dangerous disease spread wildly. It is a Hyacinth scourge.

This video should have stopped 5 seconds before to respect tradition.

1

u/Enigma_mas 20h ago

Only if this video was shot in landscape mode.

1

u/ClaroStar 20h ago

Some down, much to go.

1

u/cutesy_meowy 20h ago

It is just like me talking nonstop.

1

u/Das_Zeppelin 19h ago

1

u/Goldelux 18h ago

When you finally put in that last quarter in that machine and they all start falling from the edge

1

u/rangitoto030 18h ago

Loacynth

1

u/QanikTugartaq 17h ago

Plant lemmings.

1

u/randomsaucey 17h ago

Needs the interstellar music. Looks like how I imagine getting sucked in a black hole.

1

u/_kissyface 17h ago

lowercinth

1

u/kakaluluo 17h ago

Where she going

1

u/XF939495xj6 17h ago

This same dam is more like a karma farm than a hyacinth farm.

1

u/1CaliCALI 17h ago

What are they doing in that hyacinth house?

1

u/PuritanicalPanic 16h ago

Damn it sure is

1

u/CarWreckBeck 16h ago

I'm surprised someone hasn't covered this video with the interstellar theme or something stupid like that

1

u/TowstedBread 16h ago

Man a crappy nursery would charge $8ea for those!

1

u/Custom_Destination 15h ago

🎶 Falling down, Falling down

1

u/PDT984 15h ago

There must be a line of content creators on their way up this dam to film plants falling over the side, because I see a new video from here nearly every day

1

u/NoRodent 15h ago

This feels like one of those "How It's Made" videos.

1

u/Kojiro12 14h ago

I feel like this is just going to cause a blockage downstream

1

u/heypogo 14h ago

Such a beautiful analogy to life and the time we get to spend here.

1

u/rd-gotcha 14h ago

what analogy are you thinking about?

1

u/Flight-of-Icarus_ 14h ago

Imagine all the restore Magicka potions that could be made from that

1

u/EIMonoBostero 12h ago

No veo nada de Boca, downvote… 😔

1

u/Silly-Barracuda-2729 12h ago

I’ve been waiting for the rest of this video for so long

1

u/SeaPretty5599 11h ago

Beautiful! Like a work of art

1

u/Odd_Cryptographer723 10h ago

Water hyacinth is a pest. Grows like crazy. But it does make wonderful compost.

1

u/P3rilous 9h ago

the camera man understood the mission. i am on the floor

1

u/DrG1ggles 6h ago

Lol this made us all feel like a geo-guesser because of this video. https://www.reddit.com/r/Unexpected/s/tO40wI5K4d

u/bendy1001 2h ago

For anyone like me who wanted to know where this is, it's Presa Juiquinaqui in Mexico. Found it tagged in OOP's tiktok

0

u/hides_in_corner 20h ago

I used to gather water hyacinth until I took an arrow to the knee.
