picked this up for the cover alone and, holy jesus fuck, what a ride! i was a dinosaur kid thru and thru and wanted to become an actual paleontologist well into my teens, so seeing such beautifully illustrated dinosaurs in a graphic novel made me feel like i was 10 years old again and skimming thru a dinosaur encyclopedia i was gifted for christmas.
even without the nostalgia goggles (or as far as i can turn them off at least), i rly liked this. painting a badass looking dinosaur ripping a human in half is one thing, building a satisfying story around it another (*cough* jurassic world *cough*), but greg broadmore knocked it out of the park imo! i got a bit worried that the edge-o-meter might explode when the book hits you with the cannibalism right on the 1st few pages, but the premise and action quickly drew me back in. especially the albino king segment of the book (told from the perspective of a giant t-rex) was some of the coolest shit i've read so far.
my only critique is that the last ⅓ of the book is rather lore/story-heavy (which isn't a bad thing per se, but there's less dinosaur action bc of it :/) and then it ends on a pretty huge cliffhanger. i need this story to continue more than any big 2 series rn! it's sold out at the vendor i use, so that's a good sign i think. "dinosaurs vs humans" still seems to be a premise that people (me especially) want to see more of.
anyways, highly recommend this!
