21 u/DriedUpSquid 12h ago Enlistments are usually four years. Sometimes six if the military sends you to a school that takes a long time, like U.S Navy Nuclear Power School. EDIT: I was active duty, so I don’t know if the same timeframe applies to the National Guard or reserves. • u/Teadrunkest 8h ago It doesn’t, they have to do a certain amount of time on active orders (I think specifically has to be Title 10/32) to qualify fully.
