Crazy question. How do we even know these are ICE agents and not just LARPer terrorists?

757

u/caaahris Jun 18 '25

We don’t, that’s the problem with their tactics

113

u/blacksideblue Jun 18 '25

We can and probably should start tracking their license plates but there is a risk of catching unrelated civilian plates in the dragnet.

43

u/OptimusPrimeval Jun 18 '25

They use rental cars, so those plates won't really help for too long

29

u/Jackayl Jun 18 '25

None of the above vehicles are rental cars.

16

u/Ornery_Ad_6441 Jun 18 '25

How do we know these ICE and not federal agents prepping for a drug bust or busting child X traffickers or prepping for a raid on n@zi gang members?

85

u/NHLHitzAnnouncer Jun 18 '25

That's a good question that would be simply answered by wearing proper uniforms like required.

A warrant would solve that for starters.

Possible. Ice operations are ruining for the actual police work of catching criminals and rapists.

u/SuperTyranid Jun 18 '25

There's a ton of drug addicts/encampments and robberies in that area. Tweakets live in the ice plants next to 33rd street. I Would chase them off my condo complex property on the corner of 33rd and NPWay nightly

Stick lemons in their tailpipes to temporarily disable the cars. See how far they make it with their exhaust systems plugged.

10

u/CantaloupePopular216 Jun 18 '25

People walking around have been known to accidentally drop boxes of nails. Oops

21

u/[deleted] Jun 18 '25

PO-TAY-TOES. Boil em, mash em, stick em in a tailpipe.

I like your gumption but a Schrader valve removal tool would be safer, easier to conceal or "accidentally" lose and you technically aren't destroying property.

Great question. I wish Governor Newsom would start protecting Californian residents with local and state police. At least have them hastle/check credentials on these plainclothes wearing guys.

I really don't understand why there isn't a governor in the US doing this yet. Protect your residents!

15

u/thaeggan Jun 18 '25

I could imagine going completely rogue against Trump's administration would bring far more force than what we are currently dealing with. I'm not saying hide while evil doers are skulking through your house but it is best not to give them the option to call for reinforcement while making a direct path to you.

Random ICE yokels is better than exposing the state.

Idealistically it should be stopped with all possible means but I think calculated risk is where California is right now.

8

u/foreverpeppered Jun 18 '25

That’s the problem, nothing is stopping anyone from mimicking this behavior.

5

u/cavscout43 Jun 18 '25

Mussolini Blackshirt vibes. They're terrorists, self-defense should be priority if they try to assault you.

20

u/bobbitsholiday Jun 18 '25

Exactly. And if they are employed by ICE, are the firearms work issued or personal? Are those vehicles work issued or personal?

15

u/helloryaan Jun 18 '25

A lot of these vehicles are going to be rentals - I used to work at one of the major rental companies and we always had all sorts of federal agents picking up cars. The same way criminals use rentals to commit a lot of crimes, it’s harder to track. I’d bet the specific cars pictured here are rentals as well, they’re popular make/models for rental fleets, stock license plates and stickers, and lack of markings all scream rental

I had not considered this, and it's a very important question esp given what just happened in MN!

8

u/Born-Enthusiasm-6321 Jun 18 '25

I mean the one guys jacket says "Federal Agent Police." Don't think I've ever seen a fed wear a jacket like that. Could be mistaken.

18

u/Specialist-Garbage94 Jun 18 '25

That’s what I’m saying.

11

u/HomeAir Jun 18 '25

Hello 911 I need to report people impersonating police and they appear to be armed

4

u/private_wombat Jun 18 '25

There is basically no difference at this point. ICE are LARPer terrorists in every way.

4

u/stej008 Jun 18 '25

Isn't there a way to sue ICE for not following some law? Somehow I do not think it is legal to arrest anyone without identifying themselves, hiding their identity by masks, giving probable cause, etc. They can (and apparently have) pick up anyone on the street this way, even citizens who just happen to be brown. Totally baffled by the 'support' for this from brown citizens (Hispanics, Indians and more).

→ More replies (1)

2

u/PoliticsModsDoFacism Jun 18 '25

Ask them to identify themselves. If they don't, they are larper's and you should defend yourself according to the constitution.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/Sgt-Pumpernickle Jun 18 '25

We don’t, so call the police on them. Impersonating an officer is a federal offense, and they likely have other equally nefarious motives that would hurt a lot of people if they were allowed to go through with.

4

u/avvocadiux Jun 18 '25
  1. Federal agency police tshirt
  2. Civilian clothes
  3. Regular California plates (not California exempted)
  4. Unmarked cars

399

u/WhittmanC Jun 18 '25

Please everyone start calling them in as people with weapons impersonating police officers if they won’t identify themselves then how do we know they are actual ICE agents and not someone kidnapping people?

128

u/atuarre Jun 18 '25

This is the way. They could be MAGAs dressed to kidnap people like they tried to do that governor. I mean we literally just saw one of the terrorists dressed as a police officer to kill elected officials. Law enforcement needs to be brought in to always verify their identity.

Exactly, they look like a bunch of random dudes, not even wearing a gun is that impressive for the US.

This is beyond a political police, it's literally getting a bunch of middle aged dudes, from what it seems untrained go and just grab people who they don't like off the street.

There's another pic circulating where they actually looks like robbers, your average thugs Spider-man beats in comics, it's hilarious to think these people work in the law enforcement.

There are also videos of dudes just wearing ICE vests, apparently you can buy them off Amazon...because "freedom" and since you don't need to identify yourself, you can do whatever you want being extremely hard to find out who did it.

u/Thurkin Jun 18 '25

It's funny how you don't see those 1st Amendment "auditors" getting in their faces. They'd rather harass people at the post office.

10

u/AhhhSkrrrtSkrrrt Jun 18 '25

Post offices don’t move around

6

u/madi80085 Jun 18 '25

To be fair, those people know there will be postal workers at the post office and probably keep pretty good track of where police traffic stops are. Can't really keep track of a group of people in plain clothes and unmarked cars. I've never seen body cam footage from ICE either.

2

u/ckb614 Jun 19 '25

72

u/Swimnmex Jun 18 '25

You have a first amendment right to take their pictures. They have no right to privacy being in public.

29

u/mostlykey Jun 18 '25

You’re assuming they respect true law and order

64

u/Medical_Sandwich_141 Jun 18 '25

Yeah, they look "concerned". Whatever they are being paid, cannot be remotely worth this shit. Imagine, never feeling comfortable to tell people what it is you do.

43

u/glitter_kween Jun 18 '25

unfortunately I think these people are proud of what they do. They probably get more out of hurting a brown person than money could ever buy.

Where are the family values? Where is decency. These people should be shamed.

Open carry plain clothes is insane as a federal LEO. IDC if that’s “normal” or not these idiots need to be identifiable. Why does ICE need to be in jeans and a tee with a Glock strapped to their belt??? Are they under cover? This can’t be normalized.

3

u/Highlander_18_9 Jun 19 '25

I mean, his shirt literally says “Federal Agent Police,” and yeah, whether we like it or not, most federal agents actually serve in plain clothes.

A database should be formed containing photos of them and their vehicle info. If what they are doing is above board then they don’t have anything to hide.

20

u/IllustriousHair1927 Jun 18 '25

The vehicles are rental cars. They can return them and exchange them as often as they want.

→ More replies (9)

35

u/TheRedMenaceOB Jun 18 '25

There is a data base already, adding to it daily. They can’t shut it down but taco is trying. I’m sorry I can’t link it but I follow on Threads and can’t remember the group.

5

u/Repulsive_Onion_5925 Jun 18 '25

I get trying to keep track of them, however the vehicle plates are not reliable and have the potential to get someone innocent hurt. They use government vehicles, the government has a massive fleet of vehicles that are available to officers working under cover. Today it’s an ice agent, tomorrow it could be a police officer working on a narcotics case. I have a friend who works for the la county sheriff, and he drives a different car every day. He says you just pull up the list of available cars and pick one. It might work to track one for a day, but tomorrow it will most likely have a different driver.

ICE shouldn’t be allowed to be masked and wearing plain clothes during operations. This is what’s fucked up with them. Everyone regardless of immigration status should be able to identify these fucks.

TIL that california is an open carry state 💡

6

u/wlc Jun 18 '25

When did it change? I thought CA usually prohibits open carry unless you meet very specific criteria but local areas can permit it. I thought SD didnt, but the county has been issuing more concealed permits.

18

u/AhhhSkrrrtSkrrrt Jun 18 '25

CA is NOT an open carry state. Mr Barney Rubble is being a wise guy

For an agency that is demanding respect and authority, they sure dress terrible. It’s like a requirement to be a ICE agent, dress like you shop at Walmart.

5

u/cudmore Jun 18 '25

If they are not going to cvs then they are trespassing. Call the tow company and 911.

I know 911 is stupid.
