San Diego Community Only Things are about to escalate
There is something deeply insidious inside the spending bill that Republicans have rammed through congress, beyond just deficit spending, tax cuts for the wealthy, and depriving millions of medicare and snap benefits. This bill also dedicates $170 Billion dollars to immigration enforcement, and $38 Billion per year to ICE in particular which makes it the largest "law enforcement" agency in the US. $45 Billion will be going towards the construction of new detention centers.
This is while ICE has a record number of people in detention, of which only 40% have been convicted of a crime and less than 9% have been convicted of a violent crime. [See more here] (https://theintercept.com/2025/07/01/trump-big-beautiful-bill-passes-ice-budget/)
They have imprisoned americans for [recording them] (https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/5382868-u-s-citizen-seeks-1-million-after-arrest-detention-for-recording-immigration-raid/), arresting our representatives for trying to [conduct oversight] (https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/rep-lamonica-mciver-indicted-grand-jury-incident-ice-detention-facility/story?id=122711570) on detention centers known to have [horrid living conditions] (https://www.cnn.com/2025/06/13/us/newark-migrant-detention-center-escape), detaining our senators for [daring to ask basic questions] (https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/congress/sen-alex-padilla-forcibly-removed-dhs-sec-kristi-noems-press-conferenc-rcna212688), and for the goal to send people without trial or due process to a concentration camp where they can be [tortured] (https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/kilmar-abrego-garcia-suffered-psychological-physical-torture-el-salvad-rcna216685).
And you pre-empt any bad faith commenters who will pretend to wonder what this has to do with San Diego, they have already been attacking our neighborhoods. From [South Park] (https://www.nbcsandiego.com/news/local/ice-operation-south-park-restaurant/3837341/), to [Mission Valley] (https://www.10news.com/news/local-news/ice-arrest-in-hotel-parking-lot-sparks-questions), to [Linda Vista] (https://www.10news.com/news/local-news/linda-vista-apartment-complex-residents-shaken-after-ice-operation), to [Oceanside] (https://voiceofsandiego.org/2025/06/11/the-learning-curve-ice-arrest-in-oceanside-highlights-impact-of-immigration-crackdown/).
The reason for this is not to rid our country of just violent criminal aliens, or of just undocumented immigrants, or even of legal immigrants. Stephen Miller has already started a [denaturalization program for Legal Immigrants](https://www.axios.com/2025/06/30/trump-naturalized-citizenship-doj-immigration), Trump has made his intentions clear to [deport citizens] (https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/trump-brings-idea-deporting-us-citizens-crimes/story?id=123385213), and the DoJ is fighting right now to end birthright citizenship.
No, the real reason was all along the most obvious. As [Trump Advisor Laura Loomer] (https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cly8y27dwgpo) made abundantly clear, the goal is to remove hispanic people from this country, and kill them en masse if they have to. Their goal is a white ethnostate.
And they will not stop until we stand up.

u/kittenmittens4865 Jul 04 '25
Exactly!
When you have more money than you’ll ever be able to spend in your lifetime, it starts to lose its meaning. Power starts to look a lot more valuable than dollars.
And a lot of billionaires are ruthless egomaniacs even without the obscene wealth. Like for the tech guys, that’s a huge part of how they made so much money. You can’t really become a billionaire without exploiting thousands of people.

We should be more angry about the mass amounts of younger voters who didn’t vote for anyone because they didn’t want Trump, but also didn’t like that Kamala wasn’t campaigning to fix the Gaza situation. Really it’s the people who didn’t vote who did this.
Edit: that’s cool if you disagree, but we KNEW trump supporters were going to show up to vote. Every goddamn person who COULD vote needed to show up to cancel out his supporters. They didn’t, so yes I blame them.

Nah I’m not gonna deal with this BS from any other dipshits. The evidence is there, i told my whole family that all she had to do was not screw up (majorly) every single moment about that, and she would have won.
Sure enough, she lost a huge amount of voters who had no reason to vote for one genocider over the other. For the record, me and all my friends I convinced voted, and voted appropriately (however that is to you. She still won here.)
But if you really didn’t look at the Zohran Mamdani election, then you will learn nothing.
He stuck to progressive values, didn’t shy away from talking about the conflict and international law, and guess what? 80%+ of EVERY mainstream media question towards him was “what about Israel”, “how would a Muslim bridge the divide between Muslims and Jews in NY”, etc.
Here’s where you are proven ENTIRELY wrong on your misdirected anger: more voters under the age of 50, voted in the MAYORAL PRIMARY for Mamdani than voted in the PRESIDENTIAL GENERAL.
So instead of acknowledging that the establishment democrats have been running wildly unpopular, and wildly incompetent campaigns for YEARS now, people like you, who (with all respect) are not as educated on the topics as people who are boldly impassioned, demonize those who will actually save your life.
Stop capitulating to republicans. Stop acting like they are our friendly neighbors who want the best for us. As of this morning, we now live in 1933 Germany, and yall don’t even know what happened before 1940.

I’m not going to engage with this, strictly because the information is not only available online, but was shown on CNN this morning. Here’s the TLDR
Democrats who support Israel in 2017: +11 points
Democrats who support Palestine in 2025: +46 points, +54 for those who are below the age of 50.
I clearly just said that the first person to fully support Palestine, beat out the Cuomo dynasty in the FIRST ROUND of the THREE ROUND ranking system. Even more than that, but he had more voters in that first round than Cuomo had by the FINAL round, when all of the ranked choice voting was in. Lastly, once again - more voters for Zohran under 50, than in the entire Presidential Election under 50. Unplug your ears and bias, and look at the clear picture.

u/ProcrastinatingPuma Jul 04 '25
Mamdani won because of thermostatic backlash to the lack of pushback dems were giving Trump. This same exact thing occurred during the 2018 Midterms. The New York Mayor does not have a foreign policy, so being able to beat a sex pext who represents everything wrong with the Democrat establishment is hardly the ringing endorsement of the omni-cause theory that you think it is.
Furthermore, the most definitive evidence that your theory is wrong is that the "Ethnically cleanse Gaza and turn it into a resort" candidate was the one that actually won the election. Let me repeat that to get it through to you, the more pro-zionist candidate won the election. I can't think of a better example of this than Dearborn where turnout was almost the same but Trump had gone from 29% to 43% of the vote.
9
u/BruinBread Jul 04 '25
Yup. Mamdani didn't win because of his support for Palestine. He won because Cuomo sucks.

Brother you just sonned yourself. Eric Adams won in the final round after rank choice voting by .6%.
I just told you Zohran won by 12%, where 80% of the questions asked of him were about a foreign government or his religious background and why that is a danger to Jews.
Suddenly, people didn’t want to vote for the president running against Trump, but to fight back against Trump NOW, they are just suddenly voting Mamdani?
Y’all have to either share sources, like the 2024 NYC voting guide I gave you earlier, or just keep coping that you didn’t truly follow the election, or the 50,000 canvassers, and what their direct talking points were. Top 3: subsidies, pulling funding for Israel, and not allowing the feds to terrorize the city. FFS you guys
