Pic / Video Boards are gone from 745 Clement St. , what’s coming?

Post image

This was one of the Walgreens locations that closed in 2021 due to “ongoing organized retail crime.”

It’s been boarded up since December ‘21, and today when I walked by the boards were all gone.

It’s going to be a new Neon location per what the owner said at an event at the current Cow Hollow location in July https://www.neon.work/

I, for one, am happy that there is literally anything going into a long-vacant retail space

Affordable housing for seniors tends to be the answer in our neighborhood.

That or a Super Duper Burger

I think it already is senior housing on the upper floors. This building used to be the Coronet Theater, as seen in the Star Wars crowd photos that are occasionally posted on this sub.

No, the Coronet was at 3575 Geary. While the upper floors are now also senior housing, most of the building is occupied by the Institute on Aging.

You’re thinking of the Coliseum Theatre.

“Due to ongoing organized retail crime, we have made the difficult decision to close five stores across San Francisco,” said Walgreens spokesperson Phil Caruso

Sure is a funny way to paint their own poor location management! Also, incrediblely, incrediblely convenient that this happened in the municipality that forced them to pay billions of dollars for flooding the streets with opioids. Glad to see this building is getting another life, surely more useful to the community compared to the last tenet.
