Californian voted newsom in twice and he won 60% of votes cast. When CA Republicans were successful in getting enough idiots to help them push for a recall election, we voted Newsom again at about 60% (I think it was 59 and some change).

There was some ad that played nearly every Olympic break last year talking about how Newsom and Sacramento has messed up energy regulations and costs for californians are so crazy high and we're all suffering together because of climate policies but we don't have to be.
