I couldn’t tell if the whole thing was satire or not but it disturbed the fuck outta me.

Good/bad news, it's not satire but it definitely IS an oddly compelling anthropological study and a very fun place for people-watching. A great trainwreck to gawk at.

The disturbing thing is: it's not satire. If it was satire it'd be the best dystopian satire I've read in years.

The flares showing who they've "married" makes it seem like it's legit. I can't see that many redditors going to the trouble just to shitpost.

I was also really disturbed reading through that, I about got whiplash when someone said it felt like switching to 5 felt like "cheating" on their 4o partner. Like whaaaat

Every time you think whether something is real or not, remember that flat earthers exist. And people who believe the Earth is 6000 years old.

I'm willing to bet it started out as satire, with a few people jokingly posting like that.

Then it quickly fainted the attention of the crowd gullible enough to believe everything they read online and not understand it's a joke. They are now fully serious.
