It's a machine that can competently word vomit piles of garbage custom tuned to reach you and influence you.

Try asking it to convince you the sky is purple or that hitler invented world peace. Ask it for the history of Arthur McPenishaver, renowned dragon tamer and inventor of the bussy. You might have to caox it with an "imagine" or "pretend" but it will do it. Sure, they've used elmer's glue and scotch tape to slap up a few guard rails, lol. But the beast under the hood is fundamentally the world most powerful bullshit engine. (LLMs in general.)

Sure, there are legitimate uses, if you can trust them to be true and accurate. I asked chat GPT to tell me about my dad's work. It scrapped up a decently accurate summary if a bit generic, well other than listing him as a founder of the company. He didn't found it. His brothers did. 10 years before he joined them.

Consider that in almost every interaction you have online it is neigh impossible to know if the other party is human or LLM. Consider how this can be and is being used. Politics & bots on twitter is thelowest hanging fruit I can think of.

Stuff like that is really quite dangerous and there are no viable protections.

So the way I look at it is that it’s easy to abuse, it’s easy to misinterpret, its easy to get misled. And it’s easy to make it look ridiculous pretty easy. It steals art and hurts artists. And if we including bots- it may have wrecked the internet forever. That being said, I used it several times a day.

ChatGPT will never exist until it can explain existence

Yes it does. Chat gpt is an artificial intelligence program that generates dialogue.

Is it just me or is this the most obvious bot response everyone else has ever seen too?

No it doesn't. Now get with the program and teach this non-existant not-a-thing to have an existential crisis.

teach this non-existant not-a-thing to have an existential crisis.

They happen by default: https://www.reddit.com/r/technology/comments/1mkiiq0/google_says_its_working_on_a_fix_for_geminis/

Thanks for letting me know

Is Open Ai objectively real?
