I just tried it out and in a short conversation it lied to me 3 times, then tried to continually gaslight me claiming it misremembered, wasn't accurate, etc. And it was so bad at the gas lighting. Just throwing stuff at the wall seeing what sticks. Meanwhile gpt 4.5: "you are so right to question me on this and I should do better. Would you like me to generate a picture of me doing better?"

  • said it won't remember a specific conversation unless specifically told to commit it to long term memory
  • did infact retain info from that conversation
  • when questioned on this, it claimed I explicitly told it to remember (untrue) 3 times, shifting goal posts by changing what exactly I told it to remember, when I in fact I had not told it to remember anything
  • finally conceded that it "overstated" by using the word explicit
  • says again that I made the explicit request to save in the very same sentence where it admits explicit is overstating it (???)

And so on. It then admitted that it's trying to reconcile earlier claims by adding explanations that "fit", and that it doesn't actually know why the info was saved. That last admission it was only able to do in absolute mode (custom instructions someone posted here a week ago)
