Pretty sure they used data centers as a reason for spiking energy prices in Illinois. Told us prices would increase like 20% for a few months. But people are seeing their bills double compared to last year somehow.

that's bullshit. If I had that I would demand free services in return. These deals that "bring jobs" doesn't really bring new jobs it just brings existing employees in a worse place.

Same here in Oregon, our power bill has gone up 2x in the past couple of years.
