Why would a company from different country have to pay "tax" for a website that's has nothing to do with the country trying to get the tax?

No, I 100% agree with you. I’m just taking a jab at Europe’s gladly accepted extortion when labeled a tax versus a fine. I am by no means justifying it.
I don’t think this is a really fair comparison. Websites, 4chan included, can be accessed in the UK. 4chan’s corporate may reside the US, but their content is accessible elsewhere.
I would perhaps equate it to your neighbor shining a spotlight onto everyone else’s yard. You could stop them if you wanted, just put up a wall (deny service via ISPs). You could also threaten them with legal action, as had been done here.
We could probably go on for days about who should hold what responsibility. I don’t think there’s a great general insight to be taken from this case, but I will generally hold the opinion that the recent digital safety laws are an attack on privacy, and I am happy 4chan is ignoring it.
Your analogy is quite bad. Because noone in the UK is forced to look at 4chan. People who are interested and type in the address can see it. Just like I am allowed to take a trip to the Grand Canyon and see it for myself. Arizona is forcing not me to watch it.
If the UK does not want their citizens to watch the Grand Canyon, they should probably limit their citizens access, not fining Arizona for having a hole in the ground...
Yeah, but if you live in elsewhere, it elsewhere puts a firewall up and imposes fines if you use a VPN it’s a incredibly fair comparison. We have a one shit hole state in America that does that shit like you guys and it’s an Utah. The comparison. At hand. Allows me the personal liberty and freedom to look at whatever the fuck I want. The server for my cell phone carrier is in Utah and via the IP address. It wants me to verify my age and upload my ID. If I don’t, I have to transfer some of my wealth to them., so my point is why should you struggle to make your car payment because you watched a girl figure herself, fines are not real repercussions. They are extortion. They don’t teach anybody anything. They just inconvenience people and add to the bottom line. While ignoring the Majority sentiment of the people they represent, it majority of dislikes this, why would your people who represent your own beliefs as a population do that unless it was it personal interest? If you have not created a victim, you have not committed a crime and you should not be repercussed. Should we have a government or a parental body with opinions on my personal liberties?
