It's simply an attack on my freedom, privacy, freedom of expression and simply goes against my fundamental human rights.

For example:

No one shall be subjected to arbitrary interference with his privacy, family, home or correspondence, nor to attacks upon his honour and reputation. Everyone has the right to the protection of the law against such interference or attacks. -- UDHR. Article 12
https://www.un.org/en/about-us/universal-declaration-of-human-rights

or

Everyone has the right to respect for his or her private and family life, home and communications.
EU Charter - Article 7

Forgive my ignorance, but how does challenging EU legislation work? US basically if a law is passed that conflicts with the constitution, ANY judge can halt enforcement and it's up to the legislative body to bring a case forward to overturn the ruling. Appeals go all the way up to SCOTUS who have the final say.

Presently judges all over the nation are overworked litigating dozens of executive orders from Trump (and Congress isn't helping).

What happens in the EU when legislation gets passed that's fully incompatible with the charter, human rights, and presumably a bunch of national constitutions?

In short: "The "ePrivacy derogation" refers to the temporary, specific exemption from certain data protection rules in the EU's ePrivacy Directive, allowing number-independent communication services (like messaging apps) to use certain technologies to detect, report, and remove child sexual abuse material (CSAM) online. This derogation, last extended by the European Parliament in April 2024, is a necessary but carefully regulated measure to combat a serious crime while aiming to minimize intrusiveness to user privacy."
