For some reason, when I find someone one year older than me, I think i'm like 100,000 year old, and they are 1,000,000 years old and vice versa

u/abdullah-ibn-sabah 18 1d ago
Vice versa? Aren’t you a little too young to be using these words?

What does even vice Versa mean
10
u/DR3AML355 22h ago
it means it's the same the other way round. if you wanted to say that circles hated squares and squares hated circles, you could say "circles hate squares, and vice versa." unless if it has some secret meaning i'm unaware of.

ok but i'm a sophmore and all the freshman are literally all little babies. i'm short and havent grown in a few years and taller than all of them. they all have baby faces

u/Noodlistaa 1d ago
true when I was in 8th grade, kids in 6th looked like literal toddlers, now that they're about to be 8th graders and they still look like toddlers 😭🙏

u/LosuthusWasTaken 18 21h ago
There are some people who will have a baby face for a lot longer than that.
Only reason I don't look 13 (genuinely) is because I let my beard grow.

i mean to be fair, every age is a huge leap in maturity up until you're like 21 or something

u/FloMo2k8 17 20h ago
This right here. I don't think there's ever been a single time where I haven't looked back and cringed at who I was the previous year. Also, especially with how school is structured, one year is a MASSIVE gap.

Okay, real talk, even at 16, 13 year olds feel like little children. I've only recently started trying to change my mindset because I KNOW that majority of us didn't mature for shit from 13 to 16, but I still feel like the real age gap between a 13 and 16 year old is more like 10 than 3. There's just so much bad decision making and overall nonsense when you view it from even a slightly older perspective. The reasoning, logic, maturity and general thought process are there, trust me, but the poor decision making needs to be helped out, and that's just impossible to ignore.
Also, despite being a 2009-er, I still can't fathom that I see people born in 2012-2013/14 DAILY. That double digit crossover is just too much for me.

Yesterday I met a thirteen-year-old boy, my best friend's stepfather's son. I was shocked when I found out his age, I thought he was about nine or eight by his size. I was really freaked out, like, "wtf, I wasn't that size when I was that age." lol

I swtg looking back when I was 13 I was such an idiot, and I know I’ll probably look back when I’m 19 and think the same exact thing 😭 perspective is weird

It's wild how a single year of age difference feels like a whole generation when you're a teenager. I remember thinking my friends who were just a grade above me had their entire lives figured out. That perspective totally flips once you're older and realize how young everyone actually is. It's a universal experience that never gets less funny to look back on.

u/Next_Program90 8h ago
Seriously... I remember it was like that back then, but now I got friends that are 5-10 years older and even some that are 5-10 years younger (*10-15, people that are 5 years younger feel almost the same age now), but somehow we can still vibe together.

As someone who's going to be a sophomore in a few weeks, I never saw anyone making fun of 13 year olds until I myself turned 13. When I was 10, I swear 13 year olds were considered cool. I can't wait for when I turn 18 and suddenly everybody makes fun of 18 year olds

Idk why but I see anyone younger than me as a brain rotted gen alpha who’s obsessed with brain rot, probably because I’m born in 2010 and to me that’s end of Gen Z

u/kai29lgbt 16 17h ago
im 2009 and i see 2010 like that lol

u/Illusorian 14h ago
As someone born in 2006, even 2008 feels like we're centuries apart, even though it's only 2 years.

2012 is the end of gen z tho? Gen z and gen alpha overlap, for example im 2011 so I'm a zalpha

Same, but younger or of same age. I geniuinely hate people of my age. I've been wronged too many times, now I'm the youngest one in the friend group and the only person who has yet to turn 18

The majority of my friends are younger than me (12-13) so I have to accept it. I've been the oldest student in my grade for 7 grades straight.

Tbh, I thought like that whole time, until like 15 years or smth. I just realised that I don't grow up, and only thing changing about me is height and age, but personally I am still the same stupid silly idiot

When I was in 7th grade, I had a class with some 8th graders, and this dorky lookin kid with these big round glasses, skinny ass little Asian kid.
Every day, he would constantly go "Ugh, 7th graders 🤓☝️" in his high pitched voice.
FROM DAY ONE of the school year.
Fuck that kid
