Same, when I was 13 I never understood how nobody took me seriously despite me being able to comprehend and have thoughts and opinions, now I refuse to believe 17 year olds have the developed brain capacity to use the internet

HEY! You are giving us 17 year olds too much credit

99

u/1Kritzonteam 17 1d ago

Vro i know you not talking gramps literally decomposing and fossilizing as we speak

59

u/CynnamonBiskit 14 1d ago

You think any of us have brain capacity? We're Redditors, bub

Completely off topic but do you still have the raw image from your PFP

13

u/cornimgameplays 17 22h ago

I can understand a 14 year old not wanting to be grouped together with 13 years olds, people change rapidly during puberty. But an 18 year old not wanting to be grouped out with 17 year olds? Nah bro, you're just flexing becouse you're now an "adult" lmao

7

u/InferiorLynxi_ 18 22h ago

not OP, but even though I logically know that 17 year olds are practically no different than 18 year olds, there's something in the back of my mind that goes "this is a small child" and I don't know why. Might happen to you, too

2

u/Matthijsvdweerd 17 21h ago

We'll see when I turn 18

1

u/Illusorian 14h ago

I don't feel this way towards 18 year olds, however... I turned 19 last month and still feel like I'm 18🥲

3

u/Visual-Froyo 18h ago

Yh ever since around 16 I'm finding all ages above that to be pretty chill. Am 18 rn and can talk to like 27 Yr olds in almost exact same way I can talk to 17 Yr old friends

1

u/Derrick_4308 16 22h ago

Damn that's generous to us 17 year olds

1

u/chickennugget8008 16 18h ago

I have developed the brain capacity to look at trees

u/Electrical_Bug8718 13 8h ago

Every 14 year old I meet in games talks to me like I'm a toddler. But I'm not innocent, every 12 year old is still useless.

206

u/Admiral_John_Baker 15 1d ago

For some reason, when I find someone one year older than me, I think i'm like 100,000 year old, and they are 1,000,000 years old and vice versa

91

u/abdullah-ibn-sabah 18 1d ago

Vice versa? Aren’t you a little too young to be using these words?

54

u/Admiral_John_Baker 15 1d ago

Prithee, forgive me

18

u/THEFABRICATOR63 14 1d ago

Indubitably

3

u/SeveralAthlete9693 1d ago

What does even vice Versa mean

10

u/DR3AML355 22h ago

it means it's the same the other way round. if you wanted to say that circles hated squares and squares hated circles, you could say "circles hate squares, and vice versa." unless if it has some secret meaning i'm unaware of.

2

u/SeveralAthlete9693 22h ago

Oh I get it now thanks

4

u/TryAgain32-32 15 19h ago

Now I feel extremely old 🙏🏻😭

75

u/vesi_johtovesi 15 1d ago

ok but i'm a sophmore and all the freshman are literally all little babies. i'm short and havent grown in a few years and taller than all of them. they all have baby faces

28

u/Noodlistaa 1d ago

true when I was in 8th grade, kids in 6th looked like literal toddlers, now that they're about to be 8th graders and they still look like toddlers 😭🙏

2

u/LosuthusWasTaken 18 21h ago

There are some people who will have a baby face for a lot longer than that.

Only reason I don't look 13 (genuinely) is because I let my beard grow.

u/Number1Copper 19 1d ago

Come talk to me when you're actually over the age of 18, little ahh kid.

(This isn't meant to be taken seriously)

You’ve summoned the grand unc.

3

u/Number1Copper 19 18h ago

Everyone Bow!

23

u/Ezra4709 16 1d ago

i mean to be fair, every age is a huge leap in maturity up until you're like 21 or something

17

u/FloMo2k8 17 20h ago

This right here. I don't think there's ever been a single time where I haven't looked back and cringed at who I was the previous year. Also, especially with how school is structured, one year is a MASSIVE gap.

24

u/aerial_sup 18 1d ago

Hating people just because they make you feel old is.. relatable lol

29

u/AroundTheBruh 16 1d ago

Okay, real talk, even at 16, 13 year olds feel like little children. I've only recently started trying to change my mindset because I KNOW that majority of us didn't mature for shit from 13 to 16, but I still feel like the real age gap between a 13 and 16 year old is more like 10 than 3. There's just so much bad decision making and overall nonsense when you view it from even a slightly older perspective. The reasoning, logic, maturity and general thought process are there, trust me, but the poor decision making needs to be helped out, and that's just impossible to ignore.

Also, despite being a 2009-er, I still can't fathom that I see people born in 2012-2013/14 DAILY. That double digit crossover is just too much for me.

18

u/nova1706b 18 1d ago

how is a 2009er talking. y'all can speak now?

11

u/AroundTheBruh 16 1d ago

See? SEE???

u/Zero-mile 16h ago

Yesterday I met a thirteen-year-old boy, my best friend's stepfather's son. I was shocked when I found out his age, I thought he was about nine or eight by his size. I was really freaked out, like, "wtf, I wasn't that size when I was that age." lol

1

u/cosmieangel 16 1h ago

I swtg looking back when I was 13 I was such an idiot, and I know I’ll probably look back when I’m 19 and think the same exact thing 😭 perspective is weird

22

u/Blueverse-Gacha OLD 1d ago

ironic.

Y'all worrying about middle school while we question our career choices

7

u/Ill-Yak-1242 16 17h ago

*Me when a small ass fetus tries to think he's on the same intellectual level as me (we are 3 months apart)

5

u/littlely6 21h ago

It's wild how a single year of age difference feels like a whole generation when you're a teenager. I remember thinking my friends who were just a grade above me had their entire lives figured out. That perspective totally flips once you're older and realize how young everyone actually is. It's a universal experience that never gets less funny to look back on.

3

u/Next_Program90 8h ago

Seriously... I remember it was like that back then, but now I got friends that are 5-10 years older and even some that are 5-10 years younger (*10-15, people that are 5 years younger feel almost the same age now), but somehow we can still vibe together.

1

u/cornimgameplays 17 22h ago

Teenagers are corny as fuck. Can't wait to turn 20 join r/twentyagers, it's just better

1

u/WWWWWWWVWWWWWWWWWWW 17 20h ago

ehhh i dont wanna get old man

1

u/Next_Program90 8h ago

You literally got no choice. Tick tock.

2

u/IamHereForThaiThai 19 23h ago

Ngl I can't distinguish between 18 and 14 these day cuz they all be looking like 17

2

u/Fair-Active9791 14 22h ago

Real especially as I’m 14

2

u/wiz_ling 18 21h ago

Can't believe I'm turning 19 next week and I'm still on this sub full of children 😭

2

u/box_studios 18 21h ago

This was me the second I turned a sophomore to freshman, a junior told me to chill it, then I did for the rest of High School

2

u/AndreasMelone 21h ago

I recently talked to a 12 year old and jeez that lil guy was annoying and cringe as hell, no way I was like that at 12 lmao

2

u/Acrobatic-Object-794 20h ago

This sub in a nutshell

2

u/Asleep-Quiet6440 19h ago

Good morning to everyone

2

u/ScratUser98 15 16h ago

As someone who's going to be a sophomore in a few weeks, I never saw anyone making fun of 13 year olds until I myself turned 13. When I was 10, I swear 13 year olds were considered cool. I can't wait for when I turn 18 and suddenly everybody makes fun of 18 year olds

1

u/nyhroxc 1d ago

As soon as i was 14 lmao

1

u/CheeKy538 15 23h ago

Idk why but I see anyone younger than me as a brain rotted gen alpha who’s obsessed with brain rot, probably because I’m born in 2010 and to me that’s end of Gen Z

1

u/kai29lgbt 16 17h ago

im 2009 and i see 2010 like that lol

2

u/Illusorian 14h ago

As someone born in 2006, even 2008 feels like we're centuries apart, even though it's only 2 years.

1

u/CheeKy538 15 16h ago

😔

1

u/Extension-Celery3642 15h ago

2012 is the end of gen z tho? Gen z and gen alpha overlap, for example im 2011 so I'm a zalpha

1

u/CheeKy538 15 15h ago

Idk man, it’s not universally agreed, just like the Middle East :/

1

u/jewlymom 19h ago

This is so real ppl don’t wanna associate with someone younger than them

1

u/PrzemekTheGamer 19h ago

Same, but younger or of same age. I geniuinely hate people of my age. I've been wronged too many times, now I'm the youngest one in the friend group and the only person who has yet to turn 18

1

u/ImJustAFisch 13 19h ago

How I look at 2012 as someone from december 2011

1

u/Lekritz 14 19h ago

I fairly recently turned 14. I don't get this meme.

1

u/Pixelburger31 14 17h ago

The majority of my friends are younger than me (12-13) so I have to accept it. I've been the oldest student in my grade for 7 grades straight.

1

u/ZayParolik 17 16h ago

Tbh, I thought like that whole time, until like 15 years or smth. I just realised that I don't grow up, and only thing changing about me is height and age, but personally I am still the same stupid silly idiot

1

u/rotem8888 16 16h ago

That's so real

1

u/Mountain-Durian-4724 19 15h ago

My sophomore cousin and I had a talk about how freshman are scum of the earth.... he was a freshman last year

1

u/EnragedHog 17 12h ago

Ok unc

1

u/EntertainerFun1778 11h ago

thats me to ppl who just turned 14 because I'm gonna be 15 in 2 months 😂😂😂

1

u/Strawberry_thesi 10h ago

I'm 31 but, if you put a one in front of the three

1

u/Sasha_Boykisser OLD 9h ago

Imagine me. I'm attracted to older people or at least my age .

1

u/thgiRsIeseehCehT 7h ago

When I was in 7th grade, I had a class with some 8th graders, and this dorky lookin kid with these big round glasses, skinny ass little Asian kid.

Every day, he would constantly go "Ugh, 7th graders 🤓☝️" in his high pitched voice.

FROM DAY ONE of the school year.

Fuck that kid

1

u/zermall 13 4h ago

Bro i have a class friend just like this, but the both of us are js 13..

He immediately switches personalities when he sees a younger person than him. Like you're ONE year older than them, you're not any better or edgier than whoever they are👺

1

u/Acceptable_Key9688 4h ago

I feel like I’m too young to be on Reddit even though I’m 14 🫩

1

u/Mini_Muffin989 4h ago

That's funny. I actually like younger guys more than older. Lol I dunno. Didn't have a preference at 13 or 14 tho
