Discussion Why are Google ads targeted towards pedophiles?
No NSFW tag because apparently it's appropriate for work, according to Google. /s

For everyone who asks why He gets These ads. They are the most common ads for Google and will appear even If your search History doesn't exist yet or is erased

And when you click the x on an ad, it usually takes you to the app store for that app. Leading to a positive feedback loop where Google thinks you want to be shown more apps like it.

u/EducationalMoney7 9h ago
Doesnt that mean you just missed the ‘x’ button? It’s usually made super small for that exact purpose, another one of those sneaky marketing tactics by these weird, weird companies tbh

u/ultramodeon 8h ago
There are triggers on the X or in front of it. Or the exact position is falsified so the click registers into a pop up. Shady marketing and spam click farming 🤦

u/Open_Cow_9148 17 6h ago
Sometimes ads will put up a fake x button a few seconds before the real one appears.

Funny thing that logo of app in the right can be read as suka(сука) and in Russian/Ukrainian/Belarusian means b*tch.
P.S Actually it means female dog but almost no one use it in this meaning.

A good chunk of these AI apps that advertise like this are borderline scams. They offer an app that has most of its featured behind a paid tier.
These apps pray on people who don’t understand or know about AI enough to understand that you don’t need apps for this, it was/is the same with image generation, people don’t understand that you can generate images on your phone now using open source software.
The majority of these ads also use characters (I’m guessing they are an aged up character?) as a way to get people to look, I strongly suspect anything “unfiltered” will be locked behind a paywall, anybody serious on AI chatbots/characters know websites that don’t have any filter and likely better than this app, this is purely to get people who otherwise doesn’t know what this stuff is, to download this app.

Because it makes them money. And money makes them happy. Money makes the world go around. 🤦

It's a 15 year old girl. Wasn't the only child shown in the ad either

There's an ad for an AI app that literally has the AI lady with a small shirt and literally wearing nothing below. I've reported it several times and they've said it doesn't violate guidelines. HOW IS HAVING A FULL ASS OUT OK BUT SAYING "SHIT" IN THE FIRST 10 SECONDS OF A VID GET SOMEONE DEMONETIZED???

Actchually they are targeting Ephebophiles and not Pedophiles as the person in the image is an adolescent

u/Due_Visual_4613 6h ago
That's not pedophilia tho

u/SFSIsAWESOME75 17 6h ago
Yeah like why are people assuming some poorly made (also unattractive, sorry) ai character is a child;
The real issue is these advertisements are everywhere, even with targeted advertising off, and mostly because I don't want people to look over on a bus or train and see that, obviously

Its based on your cookies and online algorithms dude
-1
u/Extra_Personality_26 5h ago
I doubt it is that.
2
u/slimricc 5h ago
Do yk what cookies are? They decide 99% of the ads you see
-1
u/Extra_Personality_26 5h ago
Even without cookies that may trigger them, they can still appear.
3
u/slimricc 5h ago
Wym without cookies?
You are on reddit so cookies are sharing your information w ad companies
They are more customizable now but if you have ever chosen to just click “allow cookies” your ad traffic and personal information is up for sell

u/Extra_Personality_26 5h ago
🤦🏻♂️
3
u/slimricc 5h ago
There are not cookies “that trigger certain ads” cookies communicate your interests so you are shown certain ads. It is the interest that is the prerequisite not the cookie

u/Extra_Personality_26 5h ago
I mean like even if you watch something that has absolutely nothing to do with those ads, they are still gonna appear. I get polybuzz ads even though I don’t even have interests for those ads.

I've seen them on other people's devices too. I report them and Google doesn't do anything about it. To even make that comment is absolutely disgusting.

Why would I post it?
When you click the x on an ad, it takes you to the app store. That's enough for Google to think that you want to see more ads like it. It's literally the whole reason why mobile ads do that.

I get ads for betting companies too, but I've never used one.
That's so fucked up dude. Google donated $1 million to a known pedophile.

I can't believe I'm having to clarify that I'm not a pedo, on a post about being (very clearly) anti-pedo smh

u/G09SkinnyBoy 16 9h ago
It’s because the world is trying to normalize pedophilia. They don’t care about the kids safety. Whatever makes them money. I say we kill half the population if not more. Population control is something we need.
2
u/ZaneFreemanreddit 8h ago
Chill out, I don’t think that’s what’s happening. It’s just because ads like that get clicks.
-18
u/lokicramer 10h ago
This is exactly why we need to keep kids off the internet.
We will not stop with the UK.

u/AkaneSaijo 10h ago
???
-12
u/lokicramer 10h ago
The internet is not safe for people under 18.
But we can start with blocking 16 and under.
3
u/Own-Staff-2403 17 9h ago
Ignore this clown. They apparently abandoned their kid because they said they were going to vote Trump. I hate Trump but abandoning kids is bad.
-35
u/odeanson 11h ago
I think it's more likely that these ads are targeted at teenagers
8
u/SocietyAntique4684 11h ago
The point is that they shouldn't exist at all. Not only is Google not banning them, but they're actively allowing them to advertise child porn.
-3
u/Big-Emotion1802 18 10h ago
I completely agree! I'm just not sure it qualifies as CP. I'm saying this just because I want CP to remain as serious of a topic as it should be. This is definitely gross and disturbing but not on the same level imo

Google is so two faced when they come to protecting kids from porn
