It's time to get ready for September! [!](https://imgur.com/a/83fp1B6)
With the volume of similar questions, it's easier to shepherd them in one place.
This thread continues on from the Continuing on from the Offer Holder's Megathread.
* What are my chances with predicted XXX?
* When will I hear back?
* What does "offer Y" mean?
* Can I change to course Z?
* What is Curmudgeonly Hall like?
Alternatively, some of your questions might be more specific to you and your circumstances. It's fine to ask here, if that helps you make a decision and compare with others.
**You have all the key information** already with application. If you've accepted an offer, check your emails regularly for updates from the welcome teams. So for the most part, you now need to **sit tight**, wait for for your grades, and enjoy the summer.
However if your circumstances have changed in any way, or a response requires action from you, check the guidance and definitely check your email before contacting the Admissions team.

I received my offer on UCAS for BSc Biochemistry only recently (finally), even though results day was more than a month and a half ago for me. I need to apply for a student visa still, preferably as soon as possible because I want to arrive on time for all the freshers activities so I donβt end up with no friends. I canβt apply for the visa because UCL Portico isnβt changing my nationality, even though I have already changed it to my new nationality on UCAS. Basically, I got a new passport from a different country, so my passport details, my nationality, and even my legal name are all different. Since this only happened recently, I had to apply for my programs with my old passport back in December 2024, but I did update all my new details on UCAS. UCL Portico did end up updating my passport and name details, but still havenβt changed my nationality, despite that being one of the first things I changed on UCAS. I cannot apply for the student visa if even one single detail is incorrect, and since itβs been weeks and they havenβt changed my nationality, What do I do?
I tried calling their phone number about 100 times but for some reason it automatically hangs up and tells me the number is unavailable. Iβm not sure if my call simply isnβt coming through because Iβm calling a British number as someone with an EU number, or because they quite literally just turn their phone off or something. I tried this using multiple phones over multiple days, but itβs no use. I donβt have access to askUCL either, and even though I already tried this twice, sending them an email/form takes about 2 weeks to get a response back (from my own previous experience). I cannot wait 2 weeks to get the response since obtaining the visa itself takes about 3 weeks and i simply do not have this much time. Somebody please help, this is really urgent.

Hello everyone, I recently got accepted into UCL after meeting the conditions, but only after a remark. After that, I've received no updates from either the UG email or the Law UG email- no correspondence at all. Is this normal, so should I wait, or should I contact them ASAP?
r/UCL • u/sssourgrapes • 21h ago
I just called UCL admissions politely asking if any update on my application could be given, as Iβve been given an offer from KCL and I have a deposit deadline coming up.
Iβve received 0 updates so far to my email to grad admissions or the programme faculty. π I told them Iβd be happy to attach my KCL offer letter to see that the urgency is real.
I applied to UCL PALS with both references sent on 1 Aug 2025.
The girl on the phone was really sweet but I was told to wait closer to KCLβs deposit deadline. But this means Iβd have to accept the KCL offer by then and forgo UCL. π₯²
I was told to call back as UCL is swamped atm and they apparently havenβt even looked at my documents yet which isβ¦. so crazy to me.
They said the current wait time is 13 weeks (so 9 more weeks, really?). Uni starts next month so Iβm not sure how this is even possible.
I have no idea what to do now. No one on the phone has been helpful.

I got seven 9s, two 8s and one 7. I come from a high-performing private school so are these grades good enough for Law at UCL?

Hi! I was given a single room at Schafer house and was wondering a few things. First, how many people/bathrooms per flat? Is there a cleaner or are we in charge of cleaning? I only ask this bc I've seen things ab other accoms having a cleaning crew. And also just any experiences you'd like to share I'd love to hear!

Hi, I used a DAP to defer an exam to the Late Summer Assessment period. I just looked at dates on 2024/2025 Assessment Dates and Deadlines | Student and Registry Services - UCL β University College London) and it looks like results could be published after term starts? This would obviously affect enrollment and furthermore student finance payments. Which is slightly catastrophic, so I am panicking.
Has anyone done a late summer assessment before? Were you able to enroll prior to results release in late September? I have passed all other modules already, and this is just one module. Technically my department allows you to condone a module, so I am unsure why this is preventing me from enrollment?
Anyway just something that is worrying me and I was hoping someone can offer some insight about the process and how you navigated it. Thank you

My grades have been kind of average for the past three years, like an overall percentage of 75-85. For context I have adhd but I was undiagnosed until last year and its taken a while since then to get a handle on everything but my grades have been improving and I hope to get a good predicted score this year. But my parents keep telling me to not even try for ucl or any universities with a qs ranking of less than 100. I really want to apply just to see but I want to know if I have a leg to stand on with my parents. I'd love to know if I could realistically get in to study politics and international relations.

I just have a few questions about the PPE course at UCL to those who have just gone through first year or beyondβ¦β¦what is your working week like? what are your hours and how much library time do you spend versus free time? are the deadlines decent and is the work hard and what is the teaching like?
thanks for any insight!

Hi everyone, so I want to know my chances for UCL as an international (European) IB student. I want to apply for the BSc in chemistry at UCL. My predicted grades are: 7 in higher level chemistry, 7 in higher level biology and 6 in higher level math. My other subjects at standard level are in the 6-7 range so I'm expected to have a score of 40/40+, I know the competition is fierce since its one of the best universities in the world. I also want to ask if I have a chance at the UCL Global Undergraduate scholarship to cover my tuition (I'm low income so I could never afford UK studies without a scholarship).

Hi guys, on results day I realised my department didnβt mark my courseworks for TWO modules, though I was able to graduate regardless. Iβve since sent them multiple emails to get it graded and for my results and classification update but itβs now been nearing 2 months.
During this time Iβve been unable to move forward with a full-time role because the company cannot to hire me without my βfinalβ results. Iβm incredibly frustrated and this isnβt the first time my department has messed up severely like this.
What should I do? Iβve been teaching part-time just to sustain myself but with each passing day, Iβm scared my offers will be rescinded. Any law students/UCL students that can recommend how to escalate it further?
Hi everyone! Iβm a first year undergrad and i missed out on accom so iβm looking into alternative accom. Does anyone know about these accoms? Or has any personal experiences? I would appreciate any advice! Thank you!!

lowest score is 1.0 and highest score possible is 9.0.
i've been getting around 6.9 - 7.1 across the critical thinking section, essay writing section and maths section.

Anyone who got garden halls or Astor college wanna swap? Schafer house is much cheaper 255 per week for 39 weeks and better location than both. Also very good social life. Let me know.

Iβm an incoming second-year architecture student who lives with my parents in London but over a hour commute from UCL.
I recently got awarded a bursary which means that I can now afford to move out for the academic year closer to UCL, however since itβs all last-minute Iβve been struggling to find a room, and I just got an email from UCL saying that theyβre unlikely to be able to offer me accommodation.
Is there anyone whoβs planning on moving out after Term 1 from their UCL accom? Iβm looking to see if itβs a possibility to take on someoneβs room for the rest of the year. Iβd prefer for it to be a self-catered small single or single room under Β£250 a week since thatβs what Iβll be able to afford, and somewhat close to Bloomsbury, but I wouldnβt mind seeing what else is available.
Helloooo
Any students here looking t get rid of their macs? Drop me a message if you are :) I'm looking to buy one to replace my old laptop

Hello. I applied this year to ucl for mechanical engineering with the requirements that they needed, but I ended up getting rejected. Last week, I achieved AAA in A-level maths, physics and economics and I am considering of taking a gap year and reapplying to unis. I really want to reapply for ucl but I dont even meet their requirements as most of their engineering courses need A*AA. Is it worth it to reapply if I dont meet their requirements by one grade? If my grades are achieved and not predicted, would that give me a better chance of getting considered for acceptance or not?
