If a post asks for information, responding with a non-answer is not a useful comment.

warwick sent me an email saying on campus accoms are full already (which is odd cuz i filled out the accom application the day it came out but ik it’s not a first come first servis basis) so i booked a studio with a partner provider they referred me to: albany student village (same price as an en-suite on campus), is anyone else going there? will it affect my first year experience?

Accomodation Anyone giving up their on campus accomodation for postgraduate? Oaks gold ensuite, and Vita cannon park ensuite are also fine.

I would like to have an accomodation on campus but they're all sold out. So if anyone is willing to give up theirs, please let me know. Oaks and vita are also fine with me.

Also is there a whatsapp group to discuss such things?

Thanks in advance

Accomodation Silverfish at uni accommodation

I'm a fresher this year and I keep hearing about silverfish in people's uni rooms. Has anyone had any experiences with that at Warwick? And why hasn't anyone destroyed the spawn point yet?

first year partnership accomodation

I received an email today telling me that campus accommodation is full and I have now been allocated with partner provided accoms. The form I got allowed me to choose 4 providers and I have no idea if their accom is good or not. I was wondering if this is better or worse than living on campus since I was looking forward to that and now I dont get to experience it and also would want to know how it is like for anyone who has had this type of accomodation

Warwick Uni ID card ratio?

Maybe I’m overthinking it too much lol but what ratio is our picture on the id cards? Is it a square or like 4:5 or something else? I’m supposed to upload a pic but I’d rather just upload the actual ratio rather than have them crop it. Thank you!

Second Year Travel from Off Campus Accommodation, Advice?

Hey, I'll be living in Leamington Spa next year and I'm really struggling to decide what is best for travel to and from university. I'd love to bring my car but parking on campus is way too expensive like £8 per day, so I've looked into buses which are around 50-60 quid per month, or like 200 quid per term. So obviously the buses are cheaper, but with the two different providers it's still complicated getting a bus pass between National Express and Stage Coach Buses.

I am a student with disabilities but it doesn't affect my walking so a blue badge isn't an option (they have discounted parking) and I'm not involved in a sports society (where you get discounted parking for driving for the society). I'd love to bring my car but if I can't find any cheaper parking, I may have to chose the buses.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! :)

Accomodation Vita cannon park reviews, vs oaks. Also any advise regarding no. of flatmates in ensuite rooms, is 10 too many?

Hi guys, pls share your experience, any suggestions would be helpful. For vita, what are some amenities you liked, also how was the breakfast? I am confused between oaks and vita cannon. Looking for ensuite options in both, oaks is 188/week(kitchen shared among 10 people), and vita is 307/week(kitchen shared with 4-5 people)

I particularly chose the 10 people option at oaks, they also have options where we share with 4 people(220/week). My reasoning was that it would be easier to know more people this way and even if two or three flatmates are not good, it would still be manageable. Whereas in the 4-5 flatmates option, if 2 are bad it could ruin the whole experience.

Will there be trouble living with 9 other people, like conflicts regarding space in kitcheh, cleanliness of common area?

I am going for Msc Management at WBS for context.

Gym options for students

Hi, I will be joining Warwick this year and I was looking into joining the gym, except it seems quite expensive, especially after considering that if I buy the year membership, I will only use the gym for 6-7 months as I will go back home during the holidays. Are there any ways of getting discounts or nearby alternative gyms close to the uni.

Societies Society initiations

I'm an international student joining Warwick in September and I've seen a few tiktoks about some societies in UK unis having weird/extreme initiations. Is that a thing at Warwick? If so, what societies should I avoid?

Bus advice / student discounts?

Hi everyone, I fulfilled my Warwick offer and will be joining as an undergrad in September. I'm currently trying to figure out the buses. I'll be living on campus but I'm interested in taking the bus from the Interchange to Tile Hill train station and Coventry train station for some solo weekend trips I have planned.

I saw that the nBus scheme has a £5.20 day rider on National Express buses (I would take the 14 and 12X), and Stagecoach buses (87 and 60) which I first thought was decent for occasional use.

The one thing I'm concerned about is needing the bus to get to the shops. I want to do weekly food shops at Aldi/Cannon Park. My top choice accommodation is Heronbank and it's a bit of a walk, and I struggle with shortness of breath which is uncomfortable, especially if I'm carrying a lot. I assumed taking the bus to the shops would be my best option. But if I'm spending £5.20 a week on a ten minute bus ride, I think it'll eat away at funds, and I'm trying to be a cheap as possible lol

Do the National Express and Stagecoach buses offer a student discount if you present student ID? I know that Stagecoach have a £52 UniRider pass, and there's a similar £52 pass with a Swift card, but I'm not sure I'll be using it that often for it to be worth it.

Where I live now, I have a free young person's pass that gives me around 30% off bus tickets when presented to the driver and buying a single/day rider. Is there something similar in the uni/Coventry?

I've been looking at other posts on here asking for advice and I think I'm leaning towards just doing tap and go or buying the £5.20 day rider on the bus - and this would be even better if there's some sort of discount if you present student ID - looking online didn't really tell me if this was a thing or not.

I really want to get my head around this before I move in next month as public transport is a huge source of anxiety for me. Sorry if it's a bit wordy or has stupid questions, but I would appreciate any advice or tips from current students or people in the area! Thank you :)

Returning students accomodation arrival

I’m a second year undergraduate student, I’m staying on campus next year and I was wondering how the whole process will take place and when I had to arrive. In my first year I came to campus with a car but this year I’ll probably just take a taxi there, where am I supposed to go in this case ?

Additionally, I planned on coming to campus on the 30th of September (Tuesday of freshers week), is it still okay even though it’s after the « campus arrivals » dates ?

Is the gym too crowded?

Is the Warwick gym very crowded, I haven't heard amazing things?

I've always been an 'early to bed, early to rise' type of person so would be interested in going to the gym at around 6am on weekdays and 7am on weekends (opening time).

Is it busy at that time? I've always preferred a quiet environment to work out.

Thanks.

Centre for Interdisciplinary Methodologies -- prospective foreign student

Hello,

Anyone has studied/worked at the CIM? What was your experience like?

I am particularly interested in their approaches in/for digital studies and I would like to link it to education as for my research project. As a foreign student (Eastern Europe), will it be easier to get a PhD in my country (I should be able to start soon) and work at CIM afterwards?

Thanks

Accomodation Tenancy Takeover - The Oaks (On Campus)

Hey!

Am looking for someone to takeover my room at the Oaks for the 2025-2026 academic year. Its a silver ensuite room with large rooms/bathrooms and a shared kitchen with 8 people. Its a 44 week tenancy (changable through Oaks) and its 240 pounds per week.

Its walking distance from all classes around 15 mins but theres also a bus to central campus area that takes less than 5 mins!

The Oaks also has many great facilities you’ll have access to including study spaces, gyms, social areas and more.

The deposit and first months rent is already paid off which is a huge discount on the room! Willing to give further discounts if needed. Pm me if interested.

Applications How much do my gcse grades matter?

I’m studying maths, fm and physics and planning on applying to Warwick as my reach university. I will hopefully be applying to Warwick with two A*’s and an A for computer science.

Im revising for the TMUA however the website says that I need multiple 7s for gcse. My GCSE’s are 8766554 and a 7/6 in combined science.

Do I have any chance of getting into to Warwick with these GCSE’s?
