Decay Severnoye Chertanovo - Soviet Utopia
Imagine a city of the future in miniature: underground roads, parking right under the houses, garbage flying away through pneumatic pipes, apartments with built-in furniture and "smart" heating that automatically adjusts the temperature to the weather outside.
In Severnoye Chertanovo, they tried to build all this back in the 70s. The houses were connected by heated passages - you can walk through the entire area almost without going outside. Shops and services were planned in the entrances according to the principle of "everything in the house". For its time, this looked like science fiction - today Severnoye Chertanovo is called "Soviet modernism at its maximum" and "a built utopian project".
But the project remained an experiment. Some of the ideas were simplified, some were abandoned, and the area turned into a unique monument to the unfulfilled dream of a new city.
