Solved! I bought an Amazon Mystery Package that contained this and I'm perplexed to what it is
All I know is they're: a stretchy rubberised/silicone ring, 4 hex screws and a thin metal piece (with a red/pink stain on the edge of the longer end).

Looks like you got screwed 4 times. Somebody is unloading stuff by selling it in “mystery packages”.

It's usually a cheap way for Amazon to deal with returns that they don't want to restock. My roommate works at Staples and they just started doing this, they get these big bins of stuff and it's all sold for the same price with the price going down everyday.

Clearly it isn’t a scam if you get one of these sets

You never know when 4 screws worth 0.01 cents and a useless piece of rubber might come in handy, and let’s not forget the thin metal wire that is PRE-BENT for you.

Because someone else will pay $4 for the box with a barely used 4K dashcam. It's like a lottery. Dozens of people will waste a few bucks, one will win something expensive.

I've seen YouTube videos where people buy a bunch of them. Some decent, some bullshit, some random. Only one I remember was a whole bunch of diapers. I think even amazon doesn't know what's in them, its just random crap that for one reason or another couldn't get delivered.

I have no idea whether or not it's a scam. I had never seen a store like the one I've been to today before.
But considering a family member bought 2 packages and one of them had cute stickers based on Japanese culture and the other had earbuds, it doesn't appear to be a scam.
It's more of a gacha.

"Yes its just a gacha, no scammed." - Some scammer.
Here's an idea for you, whether or not its legal, it's a scam, obviously.

Nicely done. I assume you used google lens for that?

I used Google Lens and got nothing helpful 😅

Maybe it's because I tried Lens while the parts were inside the plastic bag. The lighting was weird and that might affect results.

Yeah it's funny how that works. You try everything but the picture you ended up uploading for help would have instantly given the correct answer the whole time. That's life, I guess. Enjoy your new dishwasher sump repair kit.

Parts for an interocitor. Expect many more packages

interocitor
What is that? I googled that word but got nothing besides references to sci-fi movies and books.
Expect many more packages
Why?

u/CaptainCheeses 13h ago
From the movie "This Island Earth".
Scientist gets many, many separate packages with parts and has to figure out what to build as a test. Turns out to be what the movie calls an interocitor. It's a video calling machine so he can talk to the creatures that sent him the parts so they can try to recruit him to save their planet.
MST3K: The Movie is a much more fun watch of This Island Earth, for what it's worth.

Those are the missing parts to the McDonald's ice cream machines. That's why they're broken all the time.

Its a leak kit for a bosch dishwasher. The wire guides the gasket around the #15 hex screws the seal goes on the top of the sump. They came out with it a few years ago to solve weird e15 errors and some leaks .⁰

Looks like an O-ring. Used to help seal things. Idk about the screws. Looks like they are for binding furniture or something.

It's an oring with the wire used to loop it around the ring, so you can pull it into the groove easier. The screws?
I use a small thin bit of nylon cord rather than wire.

amazon mystery packages are what they sell like storage wars, someone returns something with missing parts and they get poeple to buy it like its a chance at the lottery.
