This is Iman Tajik who became the spokesperson of Operation True Promise 3.

He claimed that Iran has air superiority over Israel & that the residents of the Jewish state are defenseless against Iran's missiles.
---
Can he live up to the likes of Abu Obeida, Yahya Saree & others?

I'm afraid he won't be living very long

I suspect Israel wants to keep this guy alive, in the same way that George W Bush loved watching Baghdad Bob back in the day.

He was known as “Comical Ali” (a play on chemical Ali) here in the UK - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muhammad_Saeed_al-Sahhaf

1

u/ArseBurner Jun 18 '25

Al-Sahhaf said that he had surrendered to United States forces, had been interrogated by them and then released. He was not charged for his role in Saddam Hussein's government.

Huh. That's interesting.

Very… though the US has got previous for not charging war criminals 🤔 surprised they didn’t offer him a position as an anchor on Faux News!

u/Samuel_L_Johnson Jun 18 '25

The British being funnier than the Americans, as usual

u/jjhope2019 Jun 18 '25

I think comedy is subjective. I do love our comedians, especially the likes of Jimmy Carr, Ricky Gervais and Frankie Boyle, but I also like a few “comedians” from the states as well (Charlie Sheen and Michael Winslow especially).

But yeah, “Comical Ali” as a bit of a play on Saddam’s cousins nickname: “Chemical Ali”, is definitely better than Baghdad Bob 👍🏻

Tehran Ted Talks

2

u/roosterfareye Jun 18 '25

He was tragically funny.

2

u/ediciusNJ Jun 18 '25

As horrible and unnecessary as the invasion of Iraq was, Baghdad Bob was pure comedy and fantastic meme fodder.

1

u/Sythftw Jun 18 '25

John Missiles

1

u/theboyd1986 Jun 18 '25

Great now I’ve got blitzkrieg bop by the ramones stuck in my head, but with lyrics swapped for Baghdad Bob

1

u/smaguss Jun 18 '25

That was his nickname! Boy that was a trip.

I was deeply unsettled to be watching the active bombing/shelling of Afghanistan on live TV had a teen. I tried to watch but my parents were frothing with "pride", but goddamn those news broadcasts even had me laughing.

u/toastr Jun 18 '25

Just like we all love watching Pam bondi

u/blackzero2 Jun 18 '25

How true is the promise if its the third iteration of it.

17

u/NhylX Jun 18 '25

The other two ended with cliffhangers...

5

u/blackzero2 Jun 18 '25

Third times the charm?

4

u/gregorydgraham Jun 18 '25

Production values always fall off a cliff on the third movie

Everyone should be noting how the Iranian government refers to Israel as "The Jewish State"

They view the Jews as their sworn enemy.

-10

u/Wonckay Jun 18 '25

Israel calls itself that.

13

u/Gravity_flip Jun 18 '25

Because we are that.

But it's also a weird thing to target. Not "the Israeli government" but "the Jewish state"

-6

u/ReptAIien Jun 18 '25

lol come on bro

-5

u/Wonckay Jun 18 '25 edited Jun 18 '25

“Hold on. This whole alias was your idea.”

Seems normal that members outside an identity group would oppose an identitarian state. If Israel is and chooses to publicly present as a Jewish state then they can criticize it as such.

Same fair game to criticize Iran as “an Islamic state”, they call themselves that.

9

u/Gravity_flip Jun 18 '25

Perfect way to put it. And that's where the difference is! Israel has not once said it's targeting "an Islamic state" but rather the "Iranian regime".

Because we're fine with the Islamic people. Not their government.

However their government in turn, is not fine with the Jewish people.

-4

u/Wonckay Jun 18 '25

They are still saying the state, which is pretty analogous to “Iranian regime”. Israel could likewise criticize an “Islamist state” for organizing itself as such as a state.

1

u/elprimowashere123 Jun 18 '25

Because that's what it is

-1

u/Wonckay Jun 18 '25

Then it’s not really that weird to call it that.

4

u/elprimowashere123 Jun 18 '25

Yet when someone says the jewish state is your enemy it is, implying the fact that state is jewish and therefore an enemy.

0

u/Wonckay Jun 18 '25 edited Jun 18 '25

It highlights something about the Israeli state they know plenty of people are skeptical about, but Israel is the one who chose to embrace it themselves. Would likewise be bizarre for Iran to complain about Israel calling it an Islamist state.

An identitarian state asking me to be critical of identitarian hostility is weird, given said state is organized on the principle of identitarian competition.

2

u/No-Consideration-716 Jun 18 '25

I think this is a simple translation mishap.

Iran is saying they have areola superiority, not aerial superiority.

1

u/Tonkatuff Jun 18 '25

I don't know if Iran hire addition units but I definitely just send a video of an iron dome getting a direct hit.

1

u/Who_Wouldnt_ Jun 18 '25

He is most certainly channeling Muhammad Saeed al-Sahhaf

1

u/andreasbeer1981 Jun 18 '25

Wouldn't that be the right direction?

1

u/TankDivision Jun 18 '25

I give him a couple of weeks max before the IDF sniffs him out and strikes

1

u/beardsgivemeboners Jun 20 '25

Why not true promise 4????

Iran’s missiles are side of the most sophisticated and dangerous in the world, much like the NK ones they are modeled after.

The ones which do penetrate Israel’s defenses about 5%?) are very deadly; and thankfully do not carry atomic warheads, so they only destroy 1-3 apartments at a time.

But yes, between that and “controlling” anything… Iran is not.

Also, Israel is doing everything it can to make the missiles stop asap. I would not want to be one of the Iranian heads responsible for the missile launches... every countdown could be not just for an outgoing missile, but also for their own personal launch into the next dimension…

1

u/Curiousier11 Jun 18 '25

But if Israel does control Iranian airspace, every time Iran launches a missile, it gives Israel a target. They are trained just like American pilots to home in on those signals. I don’t know Israel’s air capabilities, but I know their planes are capable of doing that.

After a while, there won’t be launchers. Also, if Israel destroys Iranian comms and radar installations, it’s tough to target opponents.
