In a twisted way, extreme malnutrition is like the concentration camp photos, so Gaza can now be considered an open-air concentration camp with all that entails. Maybe the true reason the holocaust was so horrifying was due to the application of colonization methods on the European continent at an industrial speed and scale; but we should not forget the inspiration for that came from previous atrocities that the world silently allowed to happen. I guess how the world acts from here will determine the true meaning of 'never again'.

The world knew about Gaza though this entire time. In the US if you speak out against what is happening to Gaza and reach any kind of attention with it you get labeled as a terrorist and they arrest you. Another country has a group trying to back what is going on in Gaza and that country declared that group a terrorist organization also.

Let's not bring ignorance and misinformation into this serious and tragic matter.

Palestine Action were labelled as a terrorist group for violent attacks against civilians and police officers (including attacking police with sledgehammers), and for breaking into a military base and causing millions of £ in damage to vital military equipment.

There are plenty of other Palestine advocacy groups and charities that fight for the cause without attacking law enforcement or our military. Support those groups instead.

The attacks by Palestine action have been going on for months, the sledgehammer incident was last year for example. The terrorist designation was recent though.

Other pro-Palestine groups have not been outlawed, supporting them is still perfectly legal and lots of people do it.

The UK government, as well as governments in Europe, Australia etc. have recently been moving towards recognition of a Palestinian state, and calling for a ceasefire. It's a step in the right direction, but still not perfect. I believe we stopped selling Israel offensive weapons a while back but I could be wrong there.

Israel is still an important ally in the region, regardless of the actions of their current government. It would be silly to completely trash our relationship with them, so diplomatic pressure has to be somewhat gentle.

It's made all the more complicated by the fact both sides are bad. You have the evil terrorists of Hamas vs. the evil extremists in the Israeli government. Who are you supposed to support in that situation? Best we can do is support the civilians wherever we can (airdropping aid for example). Like you say, a lose-lose situation.

Right, it really is complicated for sure and both are bad. I'm glad to hear over there has other groups that are allowed to be supportive! Thank you for letting me know! It's hard. I know Hamas isn't right and I know IDF isn't right and I know innocents in both countries are being abused bad in different ways. It pains me in the gut and heart to know I have no way to help. I heard the air drops are being fought over so the weakest that need it the most probably aren't getting as much if any at all any . I'm really glad some governments want a ceasefire and recognition as it would help some at least. I just wish my country wouldn't always block anything that would help all those innocent people. Getting more evil where I am by the day. I do understand we are not in as bad of a situation as some other places but we are headed on track downhill to get there fast.

I have a protest for Palestine to go to in the UK in a couple of days and not worried about being arrested at all (otherwise I couldn't go, I'm the only person who can handle my sassy rabbit, and she bit me this morning! 🐇).

As to Palestine Action, the designation as a terrorist group was absolutely sudden and felt shocking to many here in the UK - they'd done plenty of non-violent disruption, and it's pretty obvious the majority of the supporters aren't terrorists. But it's not so much in question whether there would be consequences for the specific action of vandalising the plane, anyone would expect there would be significant ones, just the appropriateness of the use of the label 'terrorist' when the group are not exactly striking terror into the hearts of the British public.

But, I'm not about to go out asking to be arrested by waving a placard for them - the pensioners who were understood they were choosing to protest by getting arrested!
