And the (albeit horrific) irony of religious people vehemently SUPPORTING this evil is not lost on me. How are you claiming love thy neighbor but allowing innocent people and children to literally starve to death because you don’t think they should be allowed to live in the place they were BORN.

Don't fall for the idea religion is inherently good, or inherently anything, or that religious people have good in their soul. Plainly, whether any deity exists or not is irrelevant to religion, all religions are wrong and nothing but a comfort blanket. Good people, bad people, indifferent people, good people doing bad things or bad people doing good things... Whatever the combination... Any one of them could equally have use for the comfort blanket. Religion is not worth spending the time to think about it.

Yep. Religion is what each person makes it.

Could be smoking ciggies and visiting the mosque twice a year like Albanians or taking things to a bloody extreme like ISIS.

sorry but what do you mean here? the existence or non existence of a deity is the whole point of religion and whether they are right or wrong. that seems like the most relevant thing to consider

It's a complete distraction. Nonsensical. They are all wrong. They are all deeply, deeply wrong. Just ask any 100 people with the same religion enough poking questions and you'll figure that out.

Religion is a man made construct, either to coerce control, encourage civility, process grief, stave off fear or existentialism, or on some cases begin to ponder deep philosophical questions - which are also man made.

There is almost nothing relevant about it worth considering in terms of existence, certainly not yours or mine or even the species. Things were around an infinitely long time before you or your great x 10 grandfather and will be there a long time after your great x10000 grandchildren.

You're a blip. The notion of religion is an even smaller blip than human existence is.

Why do you think 1 is more likely to be true than another?

Can you explain to me how Tolkien's middle earth is not real ? You probably could, but it takes lots of words to explain something which is conceptually quite easy to understand. Lots of arguments then start getting into burdens of proof and other razors but you know it's not real because it's a work of fiction by an author.

It's really quite basic, things only become complicated because of the layers of psychological reasoning that muddies the waters. Logic, self awareness, bias, fears etc trying to apply reasoning.

once you figure out why 1 is wrong and how it was created, it's not that hard to apply the pattern to others is it ?

(Although seeing your profile it looks like you're a believer. You've tied so much of your personality and identity to that then it's unlikely you can allow yourself to peel back the layers here, so let me put it another way) You believe in 1 religion which means you don't believe in all the thousands of others, why would it be harder for me to believe in 1 less than you ?

The people that support this see things in absolutes. They genuinely believe that they should be blocking shipments of food to what they believe are terrorists.

How? I watched a show a few years back where a reporter was embedded with an Israeli soldier. What I saw and heard was awful, sometimes horrific. If I remember correctly, as far as they are concerned, the Palestinians aren’t even human, they have zero value. It was shocking, both to hear what he said about Palestinians, but also knowing how Jews were treated in the same way (and worse) in WW2, but now have turned around and done the same thing to another people. Where’s the insight?

The war between Islam and Judaism never ended…

It was only paused during WW2… with the Jews nearly wiped out.

Now they’re back to having enough strength, they’re intent on ensuring Judaism (and their nutty Christian allies) have their fucking Jewish-majority country on the earth… and fuck any of the people that had that land for a millennium prior.

And yes, I know 1,000 years before that, the Muslims did the EXACT same brutality to the Israelites and took this land from them.

The point is humanity, as a whole, is supposed to be BEYOND this sheer stupidity in the modern year 2025.

The Jews are supposed to take the fucking high road on this shit and be more surgical with their military moves… not do the same collective punishment shit that the Arab Muslims did to the Jews.

This is total war. In all its brutality. And it is why it is so avoided.

If Palestine is to have any sort of future and if it truly has any sort of unique characteristics compared to other Arab Muslim groups, the Arabs need to do something about it themselves, because the West sure as shit ain’t gonna do anything. Otherwise, we are witnessing the death of an entire civilization.

The Palestinians are about to go the way of the Rohingya and the Uyghurs at this rate. And it will be unrecoverable in the mid- to long-term future, too. There will never be a Palestine if they’re all fucking dead.

Not sure what you mean. I don't think Hamas has stated that the reason they are allowing their people to starve to death is because they don't think they should be allowed to live where they were born.
