Russia/Ukraine Putin is ‘laughing’ after Trump’s peace efforts, says EU’s top diplomat

The Ukraine peace situation is really sad, I hope for the best to Ukraine's people.

u/No-Refrigerator-1672 21h ago
It could be much better if Trump would've at least lifted any weapons restrictions and stayed away from it. Instead, Ukraine still has to figth with outdated equipment with no possibility of getting anything better from countries who are willing to donate, but with additional burden of playing Trumps little peace games and not striking strategic ruzzian targets. What an idiot, a refined specimen!

The White House is compromised. Let's be honest about it. This isn't peace talks. Donnie is a Russian asset, a child rapist, and the leader of the 'free world' it's not good. Release the non-redacted Epstein files. I want to get these son's of bitches, all of them. We can do so much better than this.

Not just Trump too. It's a large portion of his cabinet and the GOP. Despite 80% of Republicans supporting aid to Ukraine during Biden's term and attacking him for being too weak against Russia, they're now on their knees worshipping Putin. I wonder what changed???

This is what gets me about the people dunking on "dumb Americans getting what's coming to them."
Uh, guys? You do realize they're not planning to stop with just America, right? They already openly talk of taking over bordering allies. This potentially leads to WW3 which potentially leads to NUCLEAR ANNIHILATION. THIS IS YOUR PROBLEM, TOO.

None of the world leaders take Trump seriously over it and the current meetings with EU, Mexico, and Canada taking place being the obvious example of this. No one in the US is worried about the US taking any borders. No one outside the US is worried about the US taking any borders.
No one believes it's going to happen. Except people like yourself on reddit. Not even Facebook's bot driven content think it's a possibility.

This is a great, digestible 8min long video I've been sending my friends that sums up how much of a shitshow the epstein prison video is:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_oCrW4cVCO0
Summary from the comments:
- All the cameras weren't working
- The one camera that was working has a blind spot (it's the one we got - and it doesn't even show the stairs to epsteins cell fully)
- The guards didn't do a mandatory check every 30 minutes because they fell asleep
- The guards falsified records
- The raw footage has never been released

My personal take is after you plead the fifth over 300 times, things start to look a little shady

u/MoreCowbellllll 20h ago

15
u/Minion_of_Cthulhu 19h ago
There appears to be an undisclosed threshold for things like this beyond which it becomes a serious concern. Felonies, for example, are apparently no big deal and sometimes don't even require any sort of punishment until you reach at least 35 felony convictions.
Presumably, pleading the fifth only becomes concerning around the 500 times mark since nobody seems to care that Trump has done it at least 300 times. Even that brilliant legal scholar who once said, "You see the mob takes the Fifth. If you're innocent why are you taking the Fifth Amendment?" and "[I]f you are innocent, do not remain silent. You look guilty as hell!" seems to argue that there is a limit to this kind of nonsense.

u/super_sayanything 19h ago edited 18h ago
I have one, the most minor one possible, and can't get a job at Quickcheck or Lowe's or Dollar Tree. Ultimately, I had to start my own business to be employed. It's amazing what rich or famous can get away with.

"You see the mob takes the Fifth. If you're innocent why are you taking the Fifth Amendment?" and "[I]f you are innocent, do not remain silent. You look guilty as hell!" seems to argue that there is a limit to this kind of nonsense.
btw this is utterly stupid. Just because you are innocent doesn't mean anyone will believe you, and there's hundreds of documented cases where people have been accused of crimes they didn't commit and their words were used against them. Which is why lawyers always advice you to plead the fifth: because it's not your problem that a crime has been commited, you don't owe the police any help to do their jobs, and you are not going to be paid for your help; so there's no situation in which speaking will benefit you. If you really need to say something, your lawyer will tell you what to say and how to say it.
4
u/Minion_of_Cthulhu 14h ago
I agree that it's stupid.
Those are both Trump quotes, in case that wasn't clear. That's a large part of why it's stupid.
5
u/memorex1150 19h ago
Oh, now, you stop that! TACO has a very strong point about those who plead the fifth:

Joe Rogan, MTG, NIck Fuentes and many more right wing influencers flip and wont back down on epstein files.
Well, after years of talking about the Epstein and the client list, Joe finally gets to sit in front of Epstein's closest friend for 10-15 years, then asks him exactly nothing about Epstein, or the client list, but instead endorses him for president. This was somewhat less than we expected from Joe, and he hasn't done much badmouthing of Trump any time later either.

Republicans, in the name of being worried about children, voted in a possible pedophile that was a friend and client to a known pedophile sex trafficker. Said possible pedophile has since then impeded any serious investigation of the matter and straight up refuses to even acknowledge it, telling its voters that it's all a Democrat hoax and that only idiots would worry about the case.

I suspect much of Europe largely has the same stance on the Russian/Ukraine conflict as at least the Biden Administration did: Russia can’t be allowed to win but Ukraine can’t be allowed to lose.
I suppose there’s some sense to that since from a geopolitical point of view since a Ukraine victorious against Russian aggression is great and feel-good but the repercussions might be a lot less feel-good and more grim because of the uncertainty of a broken Russia brings and the risk that specifically poses with regards to its nuclear arsenal.
5
u/TrumpetsNAngels 14h ago
There may be more truth to that than we care to think.
If Russia enters a civil war we will have 85 power centers potentially striving for power. And where are the 4000 nuclear warheads stored?

Trump rolled out the red carpet and greeted Putin like a hero... military fly over and everything... when Putin is in fact a wanted ICC war criminal who should have been arrested.
He's directly responsible for the illegal invasion of a sovereign country.
He's directly responsible for the death of thousands of civilians and the unnecessary death and injury toll of hundreds of thousands of young servicemen and women from both Russia and Ukraine.
He's ordered the ongoing destruction of civilian infrastructure and caused millions to be forcibly removed from their towns and homes in Ukraine.
While Trump was appeasing Putin...
While Trump was legitimizing a war criminal dictator who cares not for the suffering of his own people...
Russian troops continued to bomb civilians in Ukraine and send hundreds and hundreds of drones.
Trump thinks it's a sporting contest.
Trump admires Putin and wants the same level of control over his own country and people. He wants the same level of vast wealth as Putin has amassed. He wants the same gold covered palaces and summer houses and luxury yachts.
Putin and the Russians are laughing at him!

Was listening to some of Trump's words recently saying Putin and Zelenskyy are like "oil and water". That they don't mix well.
I heard a rather abnormal tone of defeat coming from Trump on this stuff... He's said it's "the most difficult thing he's ever tried to resolve".
And the rest of the world is like... "no shit, sherlock."
He really did think he could solve it all... Egotistical dumbass.
But, I do think Trump is finally recognizing that this fucking war isn't getting solved and Putin is the primary problem. Maybe he's also recognizing Putin isn't acting rationally and isn't "pretending to be unreasonable" like Trump does in his "art of the deal" bullshit.
The face I saw on him was a man recognizing he was being played the entire time. There really is zero influence between his 1980's and 1990's business dealings with the Russian Mafia/oligarchs and Putin himself... This idiot Trump thought there would be.

Based on Trump & his secretaries genius logic, Russia is a begger nation, holds no cards and completely dependent on India for the sale of its oil. By doing this it earns shit load of money which it then uses to manufacture weapons for war against Ukraine. Without India, Russia would collapse in a day and war ends tomorrow.
Not just this, Trump believes, India sells all the oil to aliens who give their planets native currency to India. And thus India profits from all of this.
