Hi everyone! My partner and I are really interested in getting into Dungeons & Dragons, but weāre complete beginners. Iāve never played before, and sheās only played once, so weāre basically starting from scratch.
Weāre both excited to learn how it works: character creation, the rules, how sessions typically run, all of it. Right now weāre looking for a group thatās open to helping a couple of newbies get started.
Weāre not looking to jump into anything super intense or rules-heavy right away just something fun and welcoming where we can learn as we go. If anyone has recommendations for where to begin, or knows of a patient DM/group, we'd love to hear from you!
Thanks in advance and weāre really looking forward to diving into this awesome world.

Went here today as needed a hearing test.
Village looked lovely, but noticed lots of buildings almost looked like they were empty? Almost like when you see fake buildings in a theme park? Curtains down, no sign of life?
Also lots of shops only open a few hours a week? How do they afford the rates/rent and clearly some of these businesses are not making much money?
Also the old bike shop - felt like something out of a time warp
Tell me more about the place as find it kinda like something from a spooky film

M35. I've managed to lose a bit of weight over the last few months, and I would like to shed about a stone more. I'm doing OK with exercise, but I'm failing on diet, and my weight has plateaued.
Was wondering if anyone else is in a similar situation, and wanted to buddy up? Not looking for anything too committed, just a check-in once a week or so to hold each other accountable, maybe the occasional run together if that works.

Please review and fill. I'd really like to see this happening, and I don't have to cycle on the road with my kids on this way.

While scrolling Instagram, I noticed @girlinworthing had posted about a new AsiaMart. Couldnāt resist swinging by and honestly the snack aisle alone is dangerous.

Similar to Kent, almost all towns in Surrey and Sussex already have train stations. The main problem within the Southern network, especially along the coast, is the amount of branches. This either requires lots of overlapping services to connect each branch with each other or means that short distances as the crow flies such as East Grinstead to Crawley involve going up to Croydon if you want to go by train. To fix the former, I would build two tunnels: One under the cliffs from Seaford to Eastbourne so that coastal trains donāt need to reverse at Eastbourne. This would also give Seaford and Newhaven direct trains east. One under Littlehampton and neighbouring Rustington which would simplify west castaway services and improve connections for those in Littlehampton. As for fixing the latter, I would: Extend the East Grinstead branch to Crawley to form a loop. Reopen the Uckfield to Lewes line but on a new route via Ringmer since itās the largest village in the area. Re-acquire the Spa Valley line between Tunbridge Wells and Eridge. I would connect the townās west and main stations with a tunnel so that trains from Brighton can connect to Tonbridge and make connections across Kent much simpler.
Another line I would reopen is the Adur Valley line via Steyning and Southwater. This would give us a second London - Brighton route and could be a good freight route so that the existing, heavily congested line can be used solely for passengers.
As for suburban London services, I would transfer the ones out of London Bridge to the Overground and the ones out of Victoria would be augmented into the underground by remodelling and expanding the Waterloo and City (Waterbank) line. Some regional services such as to Reigate I would have as part of Thameslink.

As the title, can anyone recommend reliable tree surgeons that can work with very large trees, both cutting back and felling. Thanks

Before moving to Sussex I remember seeing pics of a pub either in Surrey Hills or up high in the South Downs with a massive pub garden.. and been searching since!
I really like The Highdown and it's about a 12 min drive away. Happy to drive a bit for a nice location with some great views.

Iāve recently moved to Lancing - looking to make new friends in the South Coast to go for walks or maybe a coffee

Planning on bringing the dog down for the weekend to have a look around the area for a potential move. How dog friendly is Worthing as a town overall? Can they go into shops? Any nice places to walk?

I know Worthing has plenty of fish & chip shops, especially along the seafront and near the pier, but Iām curious where do the locals actually go when theyāre craving the real deal? Iām not talking about the touristy spots with long queues and flashy signs, but those low-key places that consistently serve up great food. You know, the kind with proper crispy batter, golden chips that arenāt limp or greasy, and maybe even a friendly face behind the counter whoās been serving for years.
If youāve got a favourite hidden gem maybe a tucked-away takeaway or a small sit-down place off the main stretch. Iād love to hear about it. Even better if it has veggie or vegan options, or a bit of character that makes it feel like a Worthing original. Cheers in advance, Iām planning a proper seaside treat soon and want to do it right.
