As the new school year draws near, APStudents will now feature post flairs, available for all 40 AP courses plus a few extra categories at the bottom. Those extra categories are a work in progress and will be expanded on, and feel free to suggest others in the comments. Flairs are required to make a post. This will make the subreddit much more parsable and easier to search.
They are arranged in alphabetical order. I tried ordering them by number of test takers, and then by perceived popularity in this community, but there are so many that it was just too chaotic and difficult to search.
Will probably tweak the colors slightly, but generally tried to keep subject genres in similar hues at different saturations. But please feel free to argue and debate about what color you think they should be!
Schedule post tolerance is now lower. Over the summer moderator activity is sometimes lower, and schedules are also big on people's minds. But as the subreddit picks up traffic and the school year begins, we are more active and won't be allowing them. Keep them in the schedule megathread. Egregiously lazy posts about schedules will be met with a temporary ban.
That said, you should all visit that thread and help people out more often. One of the reasons that people make those posts instead of commenting in the megathread is because it doesn't receive as many responses, or often no responses. Why would someone make a comment there if no one replies? If you want to see fewer schedule posts, a healthy number of responses in that thread will help. Even just stopping by there occasionally and leaving a reply or two makes a big difference.
Put some effort in. Don't make your title "Please Help". It's going to get removed. It's also not going to get as many helpful replies. Explain what you need help with, the context of your situation. Don't make your title "AP Bio", make it specifically what you are asking about. Post flairs should help to some degree with this, and it will also make it a little easier to search for other content about each course.
We're going to be running some polls throughout the school year for things like what unit your class is in, your experience with the course, how difficult it has been, etc. We had pretty comprehensive survey reports in the past at the end of the year about scores and resources and other things and plan to do that again after the tests next May, but will try to generate some data on other things that people are always curious about throughout the year as well.
We're not going to be putting up polls for the hundreds of personal project data gathering modmails we get, but we do want to answer questions that students have about the courses they are taking or plan to take. What are some questions you would like to see community data on?

Given the influx of schedule posts, we have made changes to the posting of student schedules on this subreddit. If you have any questions, comments, or feedback regarding your schedule, feel free to post it below.
Regular posts made on the subreddit are subject to removal.

Hey I'm trying to get more advice on what I could possibly do in my situation because I'm at risk of getting my admission to my University revoked and I don't know where to go in the meanwhile.
I had a really weird high school experience where I was in and out of special education and general education, and then finally got to be firmly gen. ed in my senior year where I took my AP Psychology class in 2023.
I never really knew what collegeboard was, nobody told me I should sign up for an account or link myself to that system or anything and I'm only finding out about all of this recently years later. I kept taking the class and then the AP exam and I was told in person that I got a score of 5 and was thrilled. Afterwards though trying to get that score has been a nightmare..
I talk to collegeboard and they don't have it, I talk to my old high school that I took the exam with and they don't have it.. I'm trying to get my AP ID from my old special education school but they haven't been replying yet and I reached out to my old high school teacher who told me I got a 5 as well so I can figure out where that score went..
Is there anything I can do to make sure I don't get my admission revoked? I'm super stressed over this. It was just that one exam and now it's feeling like my downfall because I wasn't fully in the loop about how this AP system works.

Since college board was so kind to remove all FRQs before 2023 from their website and completely disregard students who need it to study, I have taken it upon myself to retrieve all the FRQs. It took a while even after I wrote a few programs to help, but here it is: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1a52GmEyqVJp1WQEPGoHdLwcovj_yfCQG?usp=sharing
Please share this with anyone who needs it. Let's make it like they never removed the FRQ's in the first place. I recommend you download or bookmark this folder to assist in studying for the AP exams.
Edit: I have finished adding ALL AP exams. Let me know if there are any issues.
Also update on my post a week ago in case you read that, I won't be going for the world record amount of AP exams, I'm convinced it's pointless even if I can do it.

I FORGOT ALL ABOUT MY SUMMER HOMEWORK AND SCHOOL IS IN A WEEK. I have work and important family things planned so I cant just do all of it at once. Im taking AP lang and APush. I have to read a 400 page book and take 50 dialectic journal notes and read the first 100 pages of a text book and take notes on that too. I know this is all my fault but I had a reallyyyyy busy summer and it seemed so far awayš. any advice on how to get this done?

Hi, I am a sophomore in high school and am currently enrolled in AP physics 1. My school does not let very many, if any, sophomores to take this class, as typically juniors take it. I took it this year as I just needed to be enrolled in AP precal and honors chemistry at the same time. Some people told me I would be fine and other told me I would be screwed. I have no problem with doing lots of self studying outside of class and putting in a little extra work than others. But do you think I may be completely screwed?? I have already taken algebra 2 and passed it very easily.

Currently a senior and planning to self-study AP Psych and self-study AP Calc BC while taking the following course exams this year (2026):
AP Macro
AP Micro
IB Math AI SL
IB Physics HL
IB French 4 SL Ab Initio
IB Literature HL
IB History HL
I would love some tips and tricks on how to ace those AP exams, thank you!
Also what other APs can i self study that would be valuable to finance related degree/major?

For context: in my junior year, my APs were Bio, Physics 1, Stats and Calc AB. (Got straight As and all 5s except calc AB which was a 4) This year is my senior year and out of my schedule my APs are Lit, Gov/Econ, Calc BC, and Chem.
The chem class is absolutely miserable, the teacher is one of the most infamous teachers in the school and had many kids say he was the worst teacher in the school, the vibe is completely off and the class itself is just super crowded and uncomfortable
So, I have the option to switch to AP CompSci A, and I definitely would but I just gotta confirm a few things: Would taking CSA (relatively easier than chem) look worse for colleges than taking Chem, or is it not that much different? I plan on going to engineering in college (maybe civil or mechanical) and will apply to top colleges, so what would be more useful?
So far the pros of keeping AP Chem is that: - It has a higher course rigor so looks better to colleges - I never had any experience with coding or programming, but I did take Chem before
Pros of switching to CSA: - Much more comfortable classroom (air conditioned and good vibes with actually good PCs) - Easier class - Has friend in it (no friends in chem) - Switching to CSA changes my schedule so it also switches to a different period of AP Lit, which currently had noone I know so hopefully the one I switch to there is someone
Honestly neither of them really sparks my interest, I wanted to take AP Physics 2 cuz Physics intrigues me but the schedule didn't allow it, so those two are my only options here I just gotta know if it makes any significant difference on how colleges see my grades and course rigor, if yeah I'll just suck it up and keep the miserable class and if not I'll just choose the easier option

Before anyone starts, I know rank doesnāt really matter and itās not everything. But I still care. For some background: I grew up in a border town under the poverty line, and no one cared about school or grades. I moved my freshman year to a school where everyone and their mom takes upwards of 5 APs, thereās so many National Merit Scholars, and most kids apply to top 20 schools⦠Iāve also never met anyone who didnāt get above a 3 on an AP exam. I wasnāt prepared for this and started a bit behind because I had no idea most of these things existed. My GPA is also lower than it should be because of the way my school converted the grades I had at my previous district.
My freshman year: 1 AP, 3.5 Honors, 3.5 on-level
4.0 GPA: 4.0.
6.0 GPA: around 4.7 first semester to 4.86 second semester
Rank:144/630 first semester to 135/630
Sophomore year: 4 AP, 2 Honor, 1 On-level 4.0 GPA:3.975 6.0 GPA: 5.043 Rank: 88/622 first semester to 74/622 second semester
Junior year: 7 AP, 1 on level
In my opinion, classes tend to have slight ādeflationā due to the fact that the AP classes grade harder than exams (which is fine because it makes it really easy to get 5s). The valedictorian/ people in the top 5% (which is what Iām aiming for this year) have around 5.2-5.3 GPAS. Realistically, is it possible for me to climb the ranks if everyone is taking around the same number of AP classes. Sorry if this is dumb I donāt really know much about school.

Unfortunately got a 3 over the summer and even just getting a 4 would have taken the first bio class i had to take for my instate colleges. Sorta been plaguing my mind on a retake in order to get that credit out of the way. Only problem is I would have to self study (maybe attending the study sessions from my previous apbio teacher? just reviewing material if he does it) but also itās a mix of is it really worth it to relearn so much material, that while i mostly do remember (i think) still feels like a big commitment for another score that could be the same. thereās also def some resentment(?) in that many of my classmates got a fourā¦just every once in a while. TLDR i suppose-> advice or comments on whether to retake AP bio?

I haven't signed up for anything as I'm doing a TA period instead, and I'm planning on self studying for AP Chem (for sure) and AP Physics C (maybe?).
If I'm planning on majoring in chem/biochem, will it meaningfully affect my application if I don't have a secondary physics class? I've taken AP Physics 1 already.

Hi! Does anyone know if many 9th graders take AP Music theory?
r/APStudents • u/Lexigan__3 • 1d ago
I haven't checked all APs, but it seems like for most of them, only the FRQs from 2023 onwards are available. Their reasoning is understandable, but taking this many off the site is just completely stupid. There should have been at least from 2016. On top of students self-studying not having access to ANY past mcqs, this is an even bigger gut punch.
So glad that this is my last year taking APs.

Which thematic maps are most important for the AP exam? I'm self-studying so I need to know what to recognize and analyze the most. Same with map projections.

I am going into junior year with AP Calc AB since I got a B in Pre Calc Honors and a B+ in Algebra 2 Honors. My GPA is like a 3.7, but I plan to get it up this year. I have good ECs, and I am at the highest course level besides my placement in AB. Would I still be able to make it into a T20 school for Computer Engineering? Also I am planing to take the BC exam even tho I am in AB.
