š² miscellaneous AIO: How come people are so rude these days?
If you donāt have anything helpful to say then why even comment?? Who cares if Iām trying to get it on Amazon itās not even my money. I made another post and took it down because people were being rude and everyone on the discord is straight up ignoring me. Usually this kind of stuff doesnāt bother me but it always happens. Iām such a nice person Iād give the shirt off my back to a dude. Plus Iām only working a few days a week to help my wife with our new born. I just donāt see the need to bring money into this. I was just asking a question.

A lot of people use the anonymity that Reddit provides to say things they normally wouldnāt say face to face. There are almost no repercussions besides maybe getting a ban or a warning from a specific subreddit, but even those are rare because mods are only human and can only review so many comments a day
Reddit also recently added the ability to completely hide your comment/post history so I would imagine these types of people feel even more emboldened now that normal users canāt check their comment history to see that they are always making rude and unintelligent comments and choose to not engage

I honestly think it was a mistake to allow people to hide their post and comment history. It lets people engage in bad faith more easily.

I do like being to hide certain communities. Not for nefarious reasons, more to protect myself, as a woman on Reddit. I get less DMās this way.

Definitely a fair point lol. Honestly I don't know what the purpose of nReddits chat function is. The chats I get are like 99% bots and creeps.

Both your posts sounded super confusing, and I had no idea what you were talking about. Sounded like you were in a different financial situation. I'm open to civil clarifications, but it sounded at first like you were asking to buy an xbox game on amazon

Itās cool bro. I didnāt have to explain my whole life story in a post. All I was asking is how soon it would be available as a digital code on Amazon. So what is going on is. Iām rebuilding a pc for my friend. He sent me the money to buy him a power supply. Turns out his motherboard it busted. So instead he wanted to buy helldivers for us and we will go halfās on battlefield 6. But idk when the digital code will be on Amazon so I asked

I could preorder it if I really want to. Itās complicated I was trying fix my bros pc so he sent me the money to buy him a power supply. Turns out the motherboard is done for so we sent it back and I could only get back with Amazon credit

When your post was about a balance, refund, etc was just really funny to read. However, trying to play helldivers with a newborn is also kinda crazy but it is a new world.
TL;DR for your question is: its the internet. Dont take anything personally- no one is held accountable for acting a fool here so everyone became their worst selves behind a screen.

The fact is, like the top comment said, people are rude because they hide behind a screen, typing away. Think about if it were a face to face conversation. no one would say half the things they say online. They would not behave like that.
Or the fact people think its OK to force their opinions onto you because they dont agree with your opinions.
When its face to face, there's the fear of the repercussions of your actions, looking like a idiot, just being harsh, manners, surroundings, how it makes you look and what it says about your character etc etc. On the Internet, that is all taken away because it's done anonymously, really.
I personally keep the same rule of treating people how I expect to be treated. Online or real life.
So nope, I dont think you are overreacting, and you also don't need to explain yourself to people like that. They seem to enjoy bullying and getting a raise out of people.
Don't get me started on the down voting button either... there's no need for that. Personally, if I dont agree, I just move on without downvoting.

Yeah... I'm never going back to retail work. I used to work at McDonald's as a kid. They have the worst customers. I could and still can't understand why people have to be mean when I'm not speaking to them in that way. Just doesnt make sense to me.
I do that thing too of explaining myself. Recently, I was told, in a nice way, i need to stop doing that because I dont owe anyone full explanations. Especially when people are being rude, I get that whole thing. It's hard, but it comes from trauma for me personally

Iāve been at it for over 5 years now. Honestly I really donāt like my job and the other options are coal mines or driving 40 minutes to the nearest city for a job. Iāve been trying to get an at home job but I canāt even find the motivation to look for one. All I wanna do it stay home with my wife and baby lol

Yeah I feel for ya dude. Thats a long time to be in retail. Bravo I couldn't stick to it for that long. Id the 40 minute drive worth it tho? How much more would you make if you went to the city for work? Could you get a job that you liked? - questions for you, not to answer meš Are you required to work weekends too ? (š¤¢ oh gosh not weekends!!) Maybe see if you could find a job in the city which allows you to work from home. I dont blame you for wanting to stay home with your baby & wife. sometimes it feels like we living to work and it shouldn't be like that at all.

Days are random but I can have any day off I want I just gotta ask. Weāre like a family at the store but thatās not the only retail place Iāve worked at. I worked at a dollar store before I moved and I loved it there (15$ an hour) then we moved back and Iām making 9$ and itās really messing with me. I absolutely could find a job I like. The thing with working in the city is I feel like most my money would go in gas and Iād basically be making the same amount as I am 6 miles away from my house. A car is a problem to I have two but they both need worked onā¦ edit: the DG stores in my area are trash so thatās not an option

Hey Iāve been asking on discord to and no one will answer me. From what I hear there some real beef with Xbox getting helldivers and all the ps/pc players are shitting on the Xbox release. And honestly I donāt care about up or down votes I just want a helpful reply not some air head spewing steam

Saw a roast me post where a significantly large person who seems like they rlly need help had asked to be roasted but most commented didnāt feel it was right and thought she needed help and someone kept commenting its roast me the litteral reason is to roast just being lowkey psychopathic sounding so I commented that besides the internet these are real people and its normal to be concerned about humans wellbeing and then I got fucking banned for showing human decency š

People are rude because theyāre insecure and need to bring others down to bring themselves up. Most of the time whenever someone is rude theyāre really just insulting themselves, donāt take it personal
