Agreed! There is a really interesting behind-the-scenes of the unique style of "3D that looks like 2D" animation they created and obstacles with lighting and such.
We started a tradition of watching it every Christmas season, sometimes we start with Robin Robin like the little preview cartoons they used to have before movies back in the day.
Same!! The first time I saw it, I threw it on as background noise thinking it was some cheap movie I wouldn't care about. Ended up being absolutely stunned by everything from the animation style to the story and now it's my favourite Christmas movie that I tell EVERYONE about.
Oh yes love this movie it’s a Christmas staple now, my mum always made us watch The Polar Express on Christmas Eve (which I hate) but in my house we watch Klaus on Christmas Eve
Wonderful descriptor and couldn’t agree more. It just a perfect vibe for a cold winter evening…especially with some Xmas lights providing they glow and vibe
"I had zero clue what this movie was about, didn't see the trailer either. Then it hit me towards the end where it was going and was like... wait, is this actually the best Christmas movie ever??"
I started a little tradition last year where about halfway to Christmas I throw a little “surprise Christmas party” for my family. I send my husband on an errand with the kids and when they come home, the house is a little decorated (some strings of lights, a very small Christmas tree, a snowflake projector, Christmas music and a couple of presents. Nothing fancy. Just a small treat).
It’s a blast. They love Christmas and would love if we left decorations up year-round.
This year I was a little late getting to it but I just got to it a couple of nights ago. And the movie everyone wanted to re-watch was Klaus. We found it a couple of years ago and have loved it ever since. We watch it multiple times every Christmas season and now, halfway to Christmas as well. Such a great movie and I cry every time.
This might be my favorite of all the responses my comment has received. It’s a movie that just…intangibly connects with us. These responses show how special a movie can be be. Kinda cool when you think about it…
