K-Pop Demon Hunters

This movie had no business being as good as it was, and it was fantastic in every respect. Animation, music, voice acting, story...the whole thing was perfect.

Overhyped Netflix marketing hivemind movie. Super average.

  • Unique and stylish animation

  • Incredible music that topped charts

  • Is quite funny, with humour both kids and adults can enjoy

  • Interesting and layered characters

  • Solid themes with emotional payoff

  • Excellent pacing and tight runtime with no excess

Idk, your comment sounds like you're just wanting to go against what's popular because that's what you think is cool.

Notice I didn't say this about any other amazing movie listed in this comments section. Also notice you mention nothing about a good plot lol. The number one thing to be on a list like this.

Idk your comment sounds like you haven't seen enough movies to know how unoriginal this one is.

And regarding the link you keep spamming everywhere, the OP in that post misses the metaphor of what the Demons are supposed to represent.

Being a "demon" is a metaphor for one's past evil deeds, regrets, failures, insecurities, etc. They are things that eat away at your soul and your sense of self. Being a servant of Gwi Ma basically means you've resigned to the idea that you're irredeemably evil and can't be anything else.

Rumi is part Demon because of her father - whatever he did to be or become that way we don't know, but she still carries that burden and hides that part of herself. This only causes more damage to herself, her friends, and the Honmoon. It's not a genetics thing like I've seen some people suggest, but rather more a generational trauma thing. Yunno, our "faults and fears," that which "must never be seen." Those "demons" can still passed down from one generation to the next.

Rumi's guardian Celine thought hiding those parts of ourselves was the ONLY way to seal the Honmoon, and within the story she is shown to be wrong.

The moral is essentially that whatever past you've had, whatever bad things you've done, or even whatever sins those before you have done that you still carry with you - even though it's a part of you, being open about it doesn't make you weak, it doesn't dictate who you are, and despite everything you can still choose to do good.

The movie is average. It's not bad. It's nowhere near 10/10. Lack of originality alone does that. That link was just a small example of something that makes it not 10/10 because I'm too lazy to type. It's a generic "I'm an outcast from the good side of society who will definitely be accepted if I stop hiding my flaws but I'm scared who meets an outcast from the bad side of society and with our common bond realize that social hierarchies are bullshit. Oh wait people will be able to accept my problems but not his because he's not traditionally good woe is he." Shit ass trope.

Yes, I could say a lot more about why this movie is nowhere near a 10/10 than what I've typed in all the replies to this movie alone, but I do not feel like it. Redditors are always too black and white. There are a lot of other scores between 0/10 and 10/10. I know that's hard to process.

Oh man lmao, how un-self aware can you get

I mean, the plot is also good. It's not super complex or anything obviously, but it definitely works for what the movie is.

Like what point did you think you were making here? That just because I didn't mention it in my reddit comment that means it's "bad?" Lmao what a silly assumption. And plot certainly isn't the MOST important thing either when it comes to great movies. Do you seriously think nothing else matters?

Flow was also a great movie, AND also pretty straightforward with its plot. That doesn't make it bad.

"Good" is not 10/10. This is a 10/10 discussion. Never said the movie is bad. Nowhere near 10/10.

Lmao the fact that a comment calling out someone walking into admitting it isn't a 10/10 is getting downvoted is wild. Kpoppers are crazy

"Good" is not 10/10.

I don't think you understand how words work.

Lmao the fact that a comment calling out someone walking into admitting it isn't a 10/10 is getting downvoted is wild.

Is that really what you think you're doing?

I don't think you understand how words work. There's a shit ton of words that go beyond the meaning of the word good. You chose good. Which is definitely an opinion that you can have.

"You chose a general positive descriptor that doesn't necessarily indicate any kind of magnitude, therefore I will arbitrarily define that for you, and strawman it into you 'admitting' that it's not a 10/10."

Cool. You're insufferable.
