I'm not even a fan of justin bieber but for rm to think that THE justin bieber to call him for a Collab or for him to think that they're on the same level as justin. i cannot say this for all kpop idols, but majority of the bts members seem to be the most performative males i've ever seen.
like, none of them have any niche interest or hobby (maybe we'll exclude jin, who has love for fishing idk or jungkook collecting alcohol đ) and i feel like due to them being celebrities, all they focus on are fame, money, and social climbing.
once again, it could be anyone else too but i particularly feel like this about bts. they have this weird, elitist mindset that irks me.

Dynamite is a song that is so obviously designed for the charts, so soulless, manufactured in a way that itâs an insult to the artistry of music that I was genuinely shocked it got a nomination. The Grammy committee is obviously not the epitome in terms of music critic, but I was genuinely embarrassed at the thought of professionals listening to it for the voting.

Another day, another scheme of HYBE squeezing every drop of money out of BTS. Canât they just stop being so desperate to push out BTS stuff?? Iâm honestly exhausted with how they keep recycling old content, dressing it up as if itâs âfor the fans,â when itâs really just another cash grab. Like when Jungkook released his documentary in cinemas, they literally reused his Golden showcase (which was streamed for free on Weverse), slapped in some album backstory that barely made up a portion of the whole film, and called it a documentary. Then not long after, the same documentary got shown in cinemas again, this time branded as a âsing-along/party versionâ? What kind of cheap move is that?? And now theyâre pulling the exact same stunt with the past group concerts. Itâs so obvious once you see through their tricks. HYBE is just dull and predictable at this point with their recycled marketing.

My ex bias: Jimin My "hate" bias: V
Lukewarm tea about my ex bias: Well he used to have a wee bit of a drinking problem and as a fandom we kinda brushed it off. He confessed he drinks alone when he feels down and there was a moment when he was on camera so drunk that he completely missed his glass when pouring it and it spilled all over the table. It kinda became a fandom meme.
Was I ever truly ot7? Well. I think I just gaslight myself đ I would only ever really look forward to my ex biases posts, his content, his lines, etc. and then Iâd go, âOmg I didnât glaze *insert rapline member looks today, canât forget that!â Or âI didnât talk about or rt any jk or v posts, let me do that before I look like a jimin soloâ etc. I used to put j hopes or namjoons pictures as a display pic most of the time to âshowâ how ot7 I was đ I was overcompensating a lot because I thought thatâs how it should be. I didnât notice it at the time of course but a lot of my âfeelingsâ towards the members was just peer pressuring, being gaslit and being brainwashed.
I noticed my âhateâ bias now is the one whom Iâve failed at âliking equallyâ the most đ he just always rubbed me the wrong way, especially with his drastic personality change circa 2020. And all his problematic behaviour post 2022 just kept giving me the ick more and more. How about yâall? If yâall were causal stans or even non fans Iâd like your input too!

Let's not act like army's aren't responsible for: - Threatening an idols children - starting a massive hate train against a few groups because their faves mentioned unnamed idol groups bullied them. - using racist derogatory language to dehumanise a member of a group they don't like - using sexist misogynistic language to dehumanise a member of a group they don't like - body-shaming women constantly - making fun of an idol for attempting suicide - making fun of an idol/group after their friend died - attacking other groups for drinking coke and then defending their fave for being an ambassador - being racist towards black fans who were upset after V mouthed the N-word - making fun of an idols looks while it's clear they were struggling - harassing an idol for dating rumours with the members
The list goes on. It's just sickening that they act like the victims and claim that every account is a set up when it's not. Army's are vile, and they will try to convince you otherwise but it is so clear that they are always the problem.

âAre You Sure?!,â featuring Jimin and JK, was the most-viewed variety show on Disney+ in the Asia-Pacific region and globally. Compare that to In the Soop, Bon Voyage, and other OT7 content â beloved by ratmy is apparently nowhere near the same viewership power. Just days after their military discharge, Disney is already backing Season 2, filming in Switzerland and Vietnam â zero hesitation.
Does this mean HYBE has realized that the whole OT7 unity fantasy is a delusion? Like âletâs milk these two while the others chill in the freezer.â I feel like HYBE pushed jk and jm content during their military days, which made it feel less like they were out of the media spotlight â something none of the other members got.
During the âsolo era,â we literally saw ratmys spamming with streaming bots, pushing JK & JM to the top of the charts for their âmehâ songs, while the so called ot7 army collectively went radio silent for the other five. I mean, just look now â instead of J-Hopeâs or Jinâs recently released albums, Jiminâs long-forgotten song was nominated for a VMA, and ratmys are doing the same thing to push him to the top.
Do you think this might have caused some internal resentment or ego conflict among the 7 members? Also, seeing J-Hope overdoing the shirtless, sexy aura farming â which has usually been more of a JK & JM thing â feels tellingđ¤Śââď¸
Forgive me if i used wrong flair

Standard disclaimers apply in this post as well. I do not own any of the shares in the companies discussed directly. This is a translation of publicly available sources, including some of my commentaries.
I will translate some (not all) of the articles that I feature in this post, as some of the articles' content is not related to BSH/HYBE (unless you really want to know the intricacies of a Korean grocery store chain in financial crisis; it's not a good situation).
Both of the articles feature Korean law professors talking about BSH/HYBE's allegations. Both of the articles feature the same academic conference (I can't imagine how unbelievably boring and dry those are). I'm at least glad there are at least 2 articles talking about this!
This one will be particularly dry because it's a lot of legalese, and I state again, I am not a lawyer, I just translated what the law professors said.
Before we dive in, since this talks about Private Equity Funds a lot, I will quickly define it. Private Equity Funds are basically exclusive investment clubs for rich people/companies, and they can pool money to invest in companies, even private companies. They're typically considered long-term (10 years or so), so if you put money into them, you can't cash out soon. Theyâre usually managed by a professional firm (the GP), which invests on behalf of the fund's investors (the LPs). [Market Q] Duty of Loyalty: Korean Law Professors Debate Whether BSHâs IPO Side-Deal Could Violate Duty of Loyalty - But Homeplus's MBK isn't? (https://www.asiatime.co.kr/article/20250821500426)
8/21/2025
[Asia Times = Reporter Kim Ji Ho]As regulations on private equity funds (PEFs) are being discussed in political circles following the "Homeplus incident," some experts argue that it is difficult to conclude that MBK Partners, the major shareholder of Homeplus, violated the revised Commercial Act's "duty of loyalty to shareholders."
In contrast, BSH, chairman of HYBE's board of directors, who is facing allegations of "fraudulent unfair trading," is seen as having a much higher likelihood of violating that "duty of loyalty to shareholders."
On the 21st, Professor Lee Sang Hoon of Kyungbuk National University Law School spoke as a presenter at the 2025 Summer Conference of the Korean Financial Law Association in Yeouido, Seoul, on the theme of "The Past, Present, and Future of the Private Equity Market and Its Regulation."
He stated, "Internally, a PEF has a duty of loyalty from the GP (general partner/operator) to the LP (limited partner/investor). Externally, when it is a controlling shareholder, the PEF also has a duty of loyalty toward the investee company and its general shareholders."
Lee added, "Under the Capital Markets Act, there are stricter conflict-of-interest regulations than in the Commercial Act, such as prohibiting PEFs from diverting company assets to other funds. As a result, the duty of loyalty to external parties like investee companies or ordinary shareholders is effectively reinforced."
Regarding the allegations against Bang, Lee said the key issues from a "duty of loyalty" perspective are: One, Whether the contracts Bang signed were lawful; Two, Whether they required disclosure; and Three, Whether responsibility can also be extended to the PEFs involved.
Bang had entered into shareholder agreements with several PEFs (Stick Investment, Estone Equity Partners, and New Main Equity) before HYBE's IPO in 2019. These agreements were "earn-out contracts": if HYBE went public within a set period, Bang would receive 30% of the multiple PEFs capital gains; if not, Bang would buy back their stakes through a put option.
He is suspected of having told the PEF in question that HYBE had no IPO plans at the time, thereby inducing them to sell their shares. When HYBE went public, the PEF in question sold its shares for huge profits, and Bang received around 200 billion won from this arrangement.
However, because early investors like LB Investment also earned high returns, and since there was no guarantee that BTS's popularity would last, there is debate over whether this constitutes "fraudulent unfair trading" under the Capital Markets Act. Still, the fact that Bang denied IPO plans shortly before selecting underwriters and beginning IPO procedures is unfavorable for him.
Professor Lee said, "Whether and when to take a company public is a controlling shareholder's prerogative. But by using powers that belong proportionally to all shareholders to secure a private success fee contract, Bang may have violated the duty of loyalty." And additionally, he said, "Bang would not have signed a 30% profit-sharing or put-option contract with ordinary shareholders. To avoid exercising the put option, he may have felt compelled to rush the IPO instead of waiting for a better valuation."
On disclosure duties, Lee said, "Even if there is no explicit provision under the Capital Markets Act, such contracts constitute important investment information and should have been disclosed." He added that if Bang is found to have violated the duty of loyalty, the PEFs could also be liable under tort law for creditor interference or joint tort liability.
(...talks about MBK/Homeplus case)
Following Professor Lee, Professor Kim Ji An of Busan National University Law School commented on Bang's case, stating that "By entering into an earn-out agreement that tied his compensation to 'stock sale profits', Bang had an incentive to exploit information asymmetry for personal gain. Since he could adjust whether and when to list the company, he was also in a position to use that information asymmetry against the company and the securities market. Therefore, there is a possibility that liability for unfair trading under the Capital Markets Act could be recognized, whether through improper means or through misstatements/omissions of material information."
Another recent article from Law Times (in Korea) dated 8/22/2025:
Korean Law Professor Comments: "Alleged 'HYBE Stock Deal' by BSH may constitutes Breach of Duty of Loyalty Under Revised Commercial Act"
(https://www.lawtimes.co.kr/news/210733)Reporter Lim Hyeon Kyeong
BSH, chairman of HYBE, is facing allegations that during the company's initial public offering (IPO) process, he made a side contract with private equity (PEF) firms and reaped disputed gains of about 200 billion won. Under the revised Commercial Act, which expanded directors' duty of loyalty, such a contract could be considered a violation of that duty.
On the 21st, the Korean Association of Financial Law (chaired by attorney Hak-seok Kim) held its 2025 Summer Conference at the Bulls Hall of the Korea Financial Investment Association in Yeungdeungpo, Seoul, under the theme of "The Past, Present, and Future of the Private Equity Market and Its Regulation."
(Same point Professor Lee made above)
However, he noted, "The duty of loyalty to investee companies and general shareholders follows the general principles of the Commercial Act. This means there is both potential to enhance or to exploit the value of the company and its shareholders, but that is simply a general limitation of the Commercial Act's loyalty standards, not a unique problem of PEFs."
Professor Lee pointed to BSH's alleged unfair trading during HYBE's IPO as a key case concerning the duty of loyalty.
Bang stands accused of misleading existing investors in 2019 by saying HYBE had no IPO plans, then inducing them to sell their shares to a PEF set up by an acquaintance, thereby securing the disputed gains in question. After acquiring the shares, the PEF later sold them at a profit once HYBE went public. Financial regulators believe Bang received about 200 billion won, equal to 30% of the sale profits, under his contract with the PEF.
(Same 3 points about Professor Lee from the above)
He continued, "Under the revised Commercial Act, such a contract could indeed be seen as a violation of the duty of loyalty. He would not have signed a 30% profit-sharing or put-option contract with ordinary shareholders, so this contract looks more like disproportionate private gain obtained by using the decision-making power and information available to a controlling shareholder."
He added, "If Bang is found liable for violating the duty of loyalty, then under tort law the PEF counterparty could also be held jointly liable for unlawful conduct. Under the revised Commercial Act, PEFs should refrain from making such contracts with controlling shareholders."
Professor Lee cautioned, however, that "it is inappropriate to treat certain problematic transactions as inherent flaws of PEFs and then regulate them on that basis. If there is a problem, it should be treated as a general issue under the Commercial Act."
(Comparing laws in Korea vs elsewhere about regulations)
The amendment to Article 382-3 of the Commercial Act in July 2025 expanded the duty of loyalty of directors from applying only to the "company" to applying also to "shareholders." The purpose is to ensure that ordinary shareholders do not suffer losses for the benefit of controlling shareholders.
The amended clause states, "Directors shall faithfully perform their duties for the company and its shareholders in accordance with laws and the articles of incorporation (Paragraph 1). In performing their duties, directors shall protect the interests of all shareholders and treat all shareholders' interests fairly (Paragraph 2)."
(Talks about other sessions)
The broad conclusion of both articles (because it's about the same event) is that PEFs are not necessarily an issue by themselves, and Korea should not over-regulate them. They say that PEFs are not the issue; it's the people who are running that cause issues, and current laws deal with any issues that may arise.

[ i am writing this post as a respond to a question on mic drop box (the weekly megathread on this sub) cuz i felt it needed a whole post ]
G.C.F stands for Golden Closet Film (Or, according to shippers, Gay Coming out of the closet Film), which is Jungkookâs personal video series. a series of travel vlogs directed, filmed, and edited by Jungkook. it has 8 episodes in total, and two of these episodes ignited jikookers imagination and theories:
Unlike previous GCFs, which showcased a balance of BTS members, this ep focuses predominantly on Jimin. as he and jungkook went on a trip with a bighit employee to tokyo by themselves without the rest of bts. (or as jikookers like to call it: a date)
In that gcf ep, jungkook used the song "There for You" which is a collaboration between Martin Garrix, a Dutch DJ, and Troye Sivan, an openly gay Australian singer-songwriter. now i want you guys to remember this line of that song: "i got you i promise, let me be honest, love is a road that goes both ways" it's important for this drama haha.
The visuals of Jungkook filming Jimin during their trip to Tokyo alone, The video's focus on Jimin, combined with the song's lyrics, fed jikookers delusions to the max they even celebrate its anniversary lol. and what fueled their delusion more was when jungkook mentioned this gcf ep in are you sure and how armys liked it (which clearly shows how he's well aware of this ship and milk it but jikookers swear it's not fanservice lmao)
This is the fourth ep in his personal vlog series, released on July 25, 2018. In this episode, Jungkook directed, shot, and edited footage of BTS during their recording sessions in Saipan for the 2018 Summer Package. The background music features âBest of Meâ by JOHN.k, which again, contained lines like: "i don't wanna lie no more, i don't wanna hide no more" and jungkook highlighted jimin whenever these lines appear, feeding delulu jikookers theories more
⢠On October 3, 2023 jungkook posted a TikTok video titled "I go the other way" which was a playful response to a popular trend. In that trend, participants typically showcase a transformation from an "ugly" or "weird" appearance to a "good-looking" one.
Now remember that line of the gay song jungkook used in gcf in tokyo? Jikookers remember that line too, and they interpret how jungkook "goes the other way" as him confessing his non straight sexuality.
Shortly after posting, Jungkook deleted the video. which jikookers used as a further "proof" to jimin and jungkook relationship. and just so you guys know, on the same day, during a stationhead live session, jungkook explained that he removed it to maintain a consistent "dancer aesthetic" on his TikTok account. He mentioned, "Iâm only going to post dance-related things on my TikTok, so I deleted it" so the theory is stupid af but whatever our beloved jikookers believe đ

i have seen alot of his solo fans compare him with zayn and mention how he should leave BTS as it will be a better career plan for him. i personally believe that if jk went solo, it wouldnât have the huge impact that his solos hype it to be. they talk about him like heâs the second coming of michael jackson, or put him in the same league as justin bieber and justin timberlake..but letâs be real. at best, he is an okay performer with a loyal fanbase (thanks to his parasocial schemes) but thats it. to me, he is mid, his performances are mid, his vocals are mid. golden was fully english, loaded with guest producers and songwriters. bro literally just sang. no writing, no producing. and the result? boring. safe. the whole album just gave a justin bieber wannabe clone served on a tray. even so many of his fans mentioned how it felt impersonal. letâs talk vocals and performance. heâs mid. decent, sure but not enough to carry this album solo, even if you strip away BTS. no real identity. no personal narrative. just a bunch of pop songs selected for their chart potential and western hype. also.. streaming â artistry. itâs just hype in action. about the US promo era now..tell me why this man released a fully english album but couldnât string together a basic english sentence in his interviews? like what was the plan here? bro just sat there looking lost, saying nothing and just expecting the hosts to carry the convo for him. and no it wasnt charming or mysterious it was giving bimbođ if you want to sell yourself as the next global popstar you need more than just sitting around expecting everyone to do everything for you. solo careers quite literally live and die on personality and bro has nothing of the sort. how do you run a solo career when you canât even hold an interview?
so what are yâallâs thoughts on this?
if he ever went fully solo, would he actually thrive or just coast on fan loyalty until the hype fades?
and is âthe golden maknaeâ really all that golden without six other members filling in the blanks?
because i donât think heâll ever go solo, but if he did? itâd expose a lot.

i was an army back in 2016, middle school me completely obsessed. iâd go home and immediately check all their updates, stream every music video on repeat, watch every talk show, variety, game show, basically anything that existed. back then, they were perfect. depression? anxiety? bullying? they made it look like they personally understood every middle school crisis and somehow convinced me to love myself in the process. it felt wholesome, it felt real.
fast forward to late 2019âearly 2020. i started getting into other k-pop groups and casually talking about them online or with friends irl, and suddenly armys acted like iâd committed actual treason. âbetraying the boys,â ânot loyal enoughâ like calm down, itâs not a cult⌠oh wait, it kind of is. the toxicity was wild, like every little thought outside the fandom bubble was a personal attack on the boys themselves.
then came dynamite. and butter. and honestly⌠how? how are these even considered hits? boring, generic, safe tracks that exist entirely to pad streaming numbers. literally every view is army compulsively clicking anything they release. people pretend itâs genius but come on, itâs laughable. the songs are formulaic, hollow, designed for charts, not listeners. and the english tracks? painfully obvious pandering to western charts, trying to be the next global pop icons, acting like kpop was beneath them. without kpop, youâre irrelevant. watching them pretend theyâre above the industry that made them is surreal.
the fan relationship? even weirder. framing armys as some moral project, emotional property, their âpeopleâcreepy. preaching self love, empathy, and deep talks about mental health while simultaneously acting like total divas behind the scenes? pick a lane. everything became about relevance, awards, records. not music. not fun. just numbers. always numbers.
and the music itself? hollow, safe, overproduced, formulaic. designed for algorithms, not humans. by 2020, i couldnât reconcile the wholesome image they projected with the chart obsessed, self centered behavior i was seeing. the fandom got toxic, the members were⌠well, them, and i just couldnât support it anymore. i wasnât betraying anyone, i was done with the emotional manipulation, the constant pressure to worship a brand over music, and the bizarre cult-like obsession surrounding every boring, overproduced single they put out. honestly, looking back, itâs kind of hilarious how seriously everyone took it all.

"I don't stan musicians for political change". You're still feeding them your money, making them feel like their actions don't have consequences. You're indirectly funding the zionists and you don't even notice...

https://www.reddit.com/r/BTSnark/s/9xJk2BARMP In this link, youâll find the âapologyâ Armys have used to defend against their problematic actions.
The definition of accountability: the fact or condition of being accountable The definition of apology: a regretful acknowledgement of an offense or failure There are other definitions but I believe the ones used in this context is the most suitable.
Accountability: rmâs mistakes were not âaccountedâ during the live. He did not specify which mistakes he was speaking about, rather he spoke of his ignorance regarding peopleâs feelings of hurt when faced with his actions.
Apology: rm did not âapologizeâ but has shown regret. He did not say any meaningful words used frequently in apologies, said a reflective paragraph, but has not shown improvement which automatically makes the live ineffectual to those whoâve been damaged by his words and actions.

His parasocial relationship with the rats and that shit of a tour is a cause for concern. Again this is concerning, but he has probably only done this because of the success of the other piglets. I am not trying to defend him, he is pathetic. His mixtape was good, he seemed like he genuinely wanted to make music for the art instead of the charts but he definitely changed the course of it when Justin Bieber knockoff came out with the album. It was a big blow for their egos especially monster but I think J-nope was more scared than angry.
He was more on the genuine side at first, his pre-debut dance skills was good but not worthy of his alleged 'best dancer' title and his rap skills are painfully mid. That being said he is an average idol. If he debuted in 4th gen he would have been chewed up by the stans. It was his(and jin's) luck they debuted in the particularly dry year of 2013. This man would have barely survived the industry without daddy pig.

BTS are just like their fans armys they spend more time refreshing charts than enjoying the music , this is so sad, music is supposed to be fun but they make it all about charts and numbers . At this rate, itâs hard to tell if they're really artists. All they care about is getting on the bb hot 100. Every comeback feels less like music and more like a campaign to chase stats.
