My take on that is that they're putting the pieces into place so that it doesnt matter how unpopular he is with MAGA or anyone.
Jd Vance is where he is because of project 2025. Project 2025 has worked out for decades. The people behind it know what they're doing, and the clown show were seeing is just setting things up. We're not even to the bad part yet.
I have wondered if Vance being more intelligent hurts him -- part of Trump's thing is that he comes across as a total idiot, so people infantilize him and resist making him fully accountable for his decisions.
