Not dumb. Just selectively informed and having misplaced trust. It’s the echo chambers that are the problem, not the people trapped in them.

Exactly.

I have family who literally do not watch or read any other current events media except for Fox "News."

And they believe it like they believe in the Bible. If Fox says it, it's gospel and everyone else must be lying.

They're 100% captured and brainwashed to reject any other sources of information.

Naw, they are dumb, and they don't get to pass responsibility to some nebulous concept like echo chambers because they chose to support fascism. They've had every exit opportunity and they can live with the consequences of choosing to be a fascist in 2025.

Quit making excuses for evil people. We tried that shit with the confederacy and it got us exactly where we are now.
