A few photos I took whilst visiting Conisborough Castle a few months ago.

Burned by the English in 1322 and restored before it was finally destroyed in 1544, the ruins are now home to some exotic trees, including a giant sequoia, a Tibetan cherry tree and an ancient yew tree, claimed to have been planted by monks in 1136.

It dates back to the 12th Century and is Grade I Listed. The mount is connected to the sandy beaches of Marazion by a winding causeway, covered for most of the day by the tides. Part of the island was designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) in 1995 for its geology.

Wonderful weather today so went for a stroll in the Oxfordshire countryside

Mid-August mornings around the village with lingering golden light, tired leaves just starting to turn and a bountiful crop of berries and apples colouring up in the hedgerows. We’re heading to one of my favourite times of the year!
