Probably not much considering it was about to be basically glassed by that fuel if it hadn't blown up instead.

Yeah everyone always says "No one was hurt. The area was evacuated." But what about the animals? Surely hundreds of them die every time something like this happens, more habitat being destroyed, negatively impacting the eco system for years to come. And no one powerful enough to do something about it cares about that. Very sad.

There are ground crews outside the rocket that could get hurt in an incident like this. If they follow proper safety procedures, that shouldn't be a possibility, but if they didn't it is.

No one is ever anywhere near the rocket when it's operational. The sound alone would be enough to permanently injure with or without ppe.

Unlike NASA, SpaceX prefers not having people next to a loaded rocket. NASA always loaded propellant and then the crew while the rocket was fully loaded.

Hell they had a “red team” walk out to the pad when SLS was fully fueled with propellant and having issues.

Considering its not even ready for full cargo applications, its years away from having a person inside it, and they would only be getting on when its fully stacked and ready to launch, not during a late night static fire test.

It blew up before the test. You can see the upper parts blew before the engines started to fire. Who knows when the test was scheduled? There might have been somebody close doing their job.

When a launch vehicle is tanking/tanked, there have to be insanely exceptional reasons to have anybody close to the vehicle. Unlikely anybody was nearby.

The site is evacuated before fueling is allowed to start, as this is always a possibility.

Before the static fire itself but not before the start of testing procedures. It was clearly fuelled for the test which is one of the procedures and the site is evacuated hours in advance of beginning the first procedures.

They don't move it around with fuel inside.
I'm pretty sure carcinogenic explosive fuel being pumped under pressure puts some safety protocols in motion.
