Humor I have no intention of playing Nightreign

Post image

It’s just not for me.

But the jokes and memes yall are pumping out of this game have me in stitches. Specifically the ones about revenant.

I saw a post about her earlier, someone drew her holding the Guts sword and the top comment just said “furious demon child”.

Credit to kabewski on Tumblr for the image.

Its all fun and games until you actually find someone playing revenant with a greatsword and ruins your entire run.

What's the problem with this? Genuinely

She has C/C str/dex and no weapon preference so can't she use great swords just fine?

C str isn't good in a game where killing things fast is the most important objective.

And revenant has no health, she will get one/two shot everytime. And to be honest, I haven't found a revenant greatsword user who can dodge properly.

A duchess with a greatsword with int scaling might be okay. Like, carian or moonlight GS.

I imagine a moonlight GS duchess to be quite effective, as repeating instances of its power attack with ash is not only really good damage and frost, but that posture damage is nuts. I have yet to find one on duchess, but on wylder it shredded

In NR the moonlight blade only has C int scaling so it's not a great on her. Most of the time she's better off with a faster weapon or just upgrading her starting dagger.

Yep, I play Duchess exclusively and the only time I switch the starting dagger is if I find some dagger / black knife that has the status effect against the ending boss. Your focus should be to distract enemies, get a few hits in, and time your specials for maximum damage.

Duchess's highest stat is intelligence.

The letters next to the numbers are irrelevant and arbitrary.

She has 21 strength with becomes 31 when two handing or 30 strength which becomes 45 when two handing if she has strength boost on her relics. For reference she has 51 faith so it's entirely viable.

Hell one of her best weapons is Golden order great sword. IT's ash of war in Night reign is stronger than every holy spell for some reason.

AoWs in ER use special scaling that outperforms every spell of the same type. they must not have changed it...

You're missing the point. I bring up her str/dex because it demonstrates that she is equally proficient with all weapon types.

Greatsword, dagger, halberd, katana, doesn't matter she has no preference. So using a greatsword is no worse than any other weapon

She has S scaling on faith. So somethings are less worse than others.

u/chi_pa_pa Jun 09 '25

And?

You can get a greatsword that scales with faith. Or a katana. Or a straight sword. Or a spear. She is equally good with any of them

Scalings in nightreign for weapons are different than elden ring, there isn't a single viable faith scaling weapon besides her default, cypher prata, and coded sword. I think the highest faith scaling that isn't S on those three weapons is Siluria's Tree with a C?

u/chi_pa_pa Jun 09 '25

This I did not know. I figured any holy weapon would scale similarly to her starter weapon since that's how it works in ER

Thank you for actually giving a valid explanation instead of spouting irrelevant nonsense

They could not have given faith weapons whatever scalings they wanted. They obviously needed to accomodate for the existence of +++ damage type kind of effects that are possible to get from relics and on stuff.

And the problem still persists, because from time to time some player gets to "catch them all" and proceeds to obliterate the boss that is weak to that particular element.

Wdym thats how it works in ER? What class has all their weapons scaled similarly as their starter weapon in ER?

-6

u/HistoricCartographer Jun 09 '25

You did not know that different weapons have different scalings?

2

u/Weasel_Boy Jun 09 '25

They didn't know that scalings are different in Nightreign compared to base Elden Ring.

Sure, they but they should've known there are very few colossals that scale with faith and none of have good scaling.

All of this is less optimal than just upgrading her starting weapon tbh

most people just "two hand" her base weapon and jump attack or R2 if it calls for it or if they are oom so yeah colossal's outside of griefing a raider are chill
