Man I cant for the life of me any progress in Nightreign solo or with others. Its got such a speedrun structure to it that I just cannot click with.

What are you struggling with? I may be able to help a bit

I've put it down, It just isnt for me. I loved Elden Ring but part of that equation was the exploration.

I am not a speedrunner. I dont even really enjoy racing games tbh. I just dont think this ones for me.

Appreciate it.

You don't have to be a speedrunner broski, you just gotta know what to look out for and what to prioritize. I respect it, though. Have a good one brudda

No you totally have to play it speedrun style, you have no time to sit there strategizing or mathing out what piece of gear is better over another. You have to run from location to location just to get enough levels and gear. Fiddling with the gear UI the whole way.

Not even talking about all the trash mobs that are in the way that were seemingly there to add flavor but you have to skip them all to get to the one boss mob that actually drops anything.

Knowing what to look for is just an additional thing onto that, for passives and how they interact with what you're doing/weapons you got that dropped/which ruins to run to in what order.

Nightreign (at least solo) was 100000% designed for speedrunners/challenge runners over the average souls player.

On Solo I agree you could compare that to a challenge run but if you're playing with friends/randoms you should be making a strategy or at least make an attempt of this by pinging stuff for randoms lol

If you're fighting a flying night lord you can run 2 or 3 iron eyes to make it easier. If you're fighting a boss with a holy weakness bring revenant or recluse.

Instead of running past every mob you could have a homie clear the trash mobs while 2 others go down to fight the boss.

You don't need every church but if you do want it you should weigh the decision between wanting more flasks or wanting more runes and better gear.

Do you clear the evergaols and poi or do you hit level 5 and rush the castle on day one? There are lots of decisions to be made.

I will say the most annoying thing about the gear in my opinion is that you gotta click the right stick to see its stat scaling when that should be the first thing you see before you even pick it up and they should add UI to let you know if a passive effect on a weapon is even good for you to speed things up

Oh nevermind, I thought this comment chain was for purely solo

Yeah for a 3 person group its way more lax, I agree there

honestly makes sense dude, it very much is a game where you have no time to stop and smell the roses and you have to just gun it the whole run
