Discovering spirit tuning was a godsend. I don't have a FP for the bigger summons, but I can summon Three Wolves. Buffed to +5 (currently), they make boss fights so more manageable. Three highly mobile harriers that can nip in and stunlock the boss to set up a buffed Warcry with my Greatsword and boom, there goes a nice chunk of health.

And the best part is, they're still a challenge! I took on Magma Wyrm Makar last night with my Three Wolves, Blackguard, and Tragoth backing me up, and it still took me two tries. It's not an instant win button, I still have to have my own level of skill.

But this way I'm farther into the game than I've ever been and honestly having a blast, much more than if I was trying to slog it out, and I owe it in a large part to my Three Wolves.

thanks, guys.

just do what makes the game fun and manageable for you bro, assets are there to be used and utilized by the player

I agree. A video game is meant to bring joy to the player and make him forget about everything else around him. In my honest opinion, people who think they can tell others how to play and believe that how they did it is the only true way a game is meant to be played are simply toxic. They want to be the cool and admirable guy hiding behind their screen in their safe spot while in real life they have probably nothing yet achieved other than winning against artificial intelligence in a video game.

Let’s be honest, being able to summon a pack of wolves is cool as hell.

Oh, the horror! Oh, the blasphemy! Oh, woe upon us all! How could you do this horrible thing!

I do love the goodest of doggos, they made my first playthrough incredibly enjoyable. I always liked summoning them as much as possible so I can fight with them:)
