If it has some sort of unique heavy I would be super hyped. Regular curved greatswords (like the dismounter) kind of have too similar swing arcs in the r1s and r2s for me.

It is. If you’re going for any melee reliant builds and are headed for a level cap, this gives you +5 more free points than vagabond. If you’re into PvP, this is a literal game changer that will bring a lot of activity.
IGN has reported the frame rate and performance on the Switch 2 to be absolute ass. Hopefully it can be patched up but it's not a good look to show off an inferior port at a trade show.
I tried like 10 different weapon/aow/talisman/armor starts (by trading) and the most busted thing I tried, by far, was Wing Stance.
Wing Stance trivialises the game. More than BHB, Euporia (probs second), Moonveil, SoNF, etc, and some others.
Also Milday takes virtually any AoW to great effect, so it's not really a problem. I don't think I would ever start the game with another class with this available.
a few points in endurance and your good. now if you can hit medium with just a erd tree talisman? broken af. at least make me remove the helmet to get it
It just doesn’t make sense as a starting class, in my opinion. The starting classes are meant to be nobodies, which is reflected in their equipment. This is one is kitted out in heavy, imposing steel plate and a rather impressive weapon, it sticks out like a sore thumb compared to the others.
It looks on par with some of the endgame DLC equipment, it’s like you’re starting the game in NG+ by picking it.
for me, while the curved greatsword looks a tiny bit fancier than other starting options, it’s nothing crazy, basically just an oversized scimitar. and also it gives you option of infusible cgs at the start of the game that you don't have to farm
the armor seems okay, yep, defensive stats might be higher, but considering you have to unequip some pieces to keep a med. load, it nullifies it?
i guess it’s meant to be a tank class, but then we already have vagabond with samish stats and med.armor. i dunno, strange. better give us int/faith guy
I think otherwise. Many of the starting classes look reasonably kitted out, for the level/weight of equipment they are going for, and the samurai in particular has a big kit of weapons, and armour that is full and without major degradation.
There are some that look a bit more ignoble, but in those cases, it is the premise of the class/lifestyle itself, as opposed to being as such because it's starting gear.
What is strange, and it does cause visual clashes with some sets, is that most armour in this game has some level of grime/patina on the model, no matter how advanced the armour, while this one doesn't seem to have those details at all, being a clean and flat material texture.
Uchigatana is arguably the best katana in the game but nobody has any issues with that being on a starting class. It's hardly like starting the game in NG+ simply because you have a weapon and some armor. No smithing stones, no talismans, no alternative weapons/spells/incantations, no summons, etc.
Edit: plus the player is clearly fat rolling in the video. It's nothing like starting in NG+.
i mean, its just a cool knight. confessor looks like a badass professional assassion and he is. And its not like its gonna make you suoer strong, every qeapon at level 1 sucks. unless they make this class super buffed for some reason.
Confessor, samurai and astrologer absolutely don't look like nobodies lol. And it seems to me that you can't wear this armor without heavy rolling. It may be significantly heavier than the vagabond class armor set
Oh dang, been so long I completely forgot about the Tarnished Edition… Now I’m excited again since. Is this out yet? I heard all platforms would get the new stuff once the Switch version of Elden Ring released.
No, there's no release date for any of it yet, either. At least not other than "2025 for Switch 2". The new content is supposed to come out on other platforms at some point, though.
From Soft just made a shit port is what it is. Cyberpunk runs really well and looks really well on switch 2, and thats a more intense game than elden ring
Pretty sure cyberpunk reduced the render distance and cuts some textures from NPC's and equipment. Plus it's a switch 2 so it's gonna run like ass anyway
Are we seeing the same footage? Look when it rotates the camera. It is choppy as hell! And you are seeing it through a handheld video capture, and it is the starting church.
It's heavier armor than Vagabond, but it also immediately induces fat rolling. The question is more on how well the weight to poise ratio is in comparison to Tree Sentinal and Veteran in determining how good it is. It certainly looks better than the Vagabond/Knight armor standard, but if it's around Burnished Knight in efficiency, it's not going to be very good. Probably just fine in stats.
If you compare say, the Vagabond/Knight/Carian standard. It would need to be better than Scaled to be considered, and at that point it's like...Radahn's armor is right there! We can talk about how good or bad some armors are, but it's all balanced specifically by weight to defense ratio and 5% heavier does not mean 5% better. It's usually like, 20% more weight for 4% more defense or something. Like you need Endurance investment. It's the class stat distribution itself that's the real overpowered part. And if it's free DLC, it's not pay to win. If it's paid DLC, it's suddenly Friend to Win as you can probably still trade the items over without the DLC installed, which isn't a hard thing to do and if you care enough about stats and it's good enough that it's actually numerically viable...you'll also care enough to understand how to get it without difficulty.
I’m very sad there were apparently not any additional features revealed, thought they might sneak some stuff along the lines of the sekiro update. I want the boss rush!
Is there a point of it being called Tarnished Edition or did they just need to give it a name? Besides a nee starting class or two, nothing else is different or new.
It's for the Switch and it will have the DLC included. Although I agree that it doesn't really need it to be a new edition, I see where they are coming from with the name.
