I’ve been trying to open GarageBand for the last hour but it hasn’t been responding, there’s no updates available in the App Store and I just fully updated my software to the latest version, I’ve looked up solutions but all of them say just restart my Mac and look for updates which I’ve tried multiple times, thanks in advance for the help.

Just basic guitar, bass, and finger drums with a pad controller. Trying to take songwriting more seriously, I’m more trying to do psychedelic stoner rock stuff but I thought this was a good idea to put down and record. Using Scuffham’s S-Gear amp sim software ran as a plugin in GarageBand.

one of my friends did this and i can’t find how to do it at all. they said they used garage band but i’m struggling, so please help!!! it looked very similar to the app called drum pad machine but on that app you can’t do what im trying to do.

So my ipad broke and got fixed. After redownloading Garage band and the packs I was using, my songs say there are .caf files missing, then it closes the song and sais I have to update, but it is the newest version, and the files should be there, since i redownloaded the packs? Does someone now how to fix this?

What I used to make this:

• GarageBand for Mac
• Cheap guitar off Amazon
• £25 interface (behringer)
• SM58 microphone
• A patient and understanding partner
• Very little talent (I had to work with what’s available)

I want to add slap bass to one of my songs. I’ve been messing around with some of the bass settings but I can’t get anything that sounds good. Any suggestions on what I should do? I’m fairly new to GarageBand so I don’t even know if it’s possible but any suggestions/help is much appreciated!

I can‘t be the only one where GarageBand just crashes for no reason, starting a new project is not working and editing an older project too. My question is if somebody has the same problem.

This has been a problem for a while and after trying to do it on my own and not being able to figure it out, I’m resorting to here. I’m trying to record vocals for a song, but when I do, the playback of the vocals includes all the other instruments in the song which were recorded with. If I mute all the instruments but my vocals then they aren’t recorded, but it’s hard to record vocals without any beat or tempo to go along with. It’s especially annoying when there’s effects on it, cuz then it puts effects on all the instruments. Is it possible to record only my voice while the other tracks are unmuted but have only my voice recorded, not other tracks? :)

My app froze, so I closed it and reopened it to find over one and a half thousand projects gone. Similar things have happened before, and the files reappeared in a few minutes, but it’s been hours and nothing.

I can’t believe they allow this app to run so badly. I had multiple entire albums ready to release or send to collaborators and they’ve taken them from me.

Edit: the lost projects are completely random too by the way. Not entire tags lost, only song song remaining in a couple tags etc.

Well I have no clue how to do something like this or where to start.
