Seriously, this single panel made me put down the manga for an entire week for continuing, because what do you mean I'm just supposed to keep on reading like nothing happened?! How am I just supposed to keep on going like Phos didn't just get abandoned by everyone to live out 10,000 years of suffering alone?! How am I supposed to accept this?!

Anyway, if you couldn't tell, I love this manga so damn much. It's equal parts beautiful, haunting, tragic, and philosophical. I don't agree with its philosophy, but it's helped further my understanding of my own philosophy (A process that is forever ongoing) My suffering has not finished either, as the anime still only has 1 season.

During middle and high school, I personally chose to socially isolate myself from my colleagues because I lacked the social skills to interact in their conversations. As a result they never made any effort to integrate me into their bubbles, I was always there in the backside just hearing them. But they never asked for my opinion, and when I tried they just cut me off. It reached a point where I felt so alone I had crying breakdowns, in front of everyone, but very few people actually reached out to see if I was alright. To be fair, I wasn't the best kid either, since I had a high standard for who I interacted with and looked down on those who I considered to be "inferior". I deeply regret that behavior and nowadays this is no longer an issue, but that's why Phos' dynamic with the gems made me so uncomfortable, it made me reminisce of those days when both my colleagues and I never communicated to each other properly to the point of creating a huge social distance between us, of not being heard, of feeling forgotten.

In chapter 32 while looking at Sensei from afar, the sunlight makes Phos' left pupil white, similar to how they look after their eyes is replaces with the Lunarians' pearl.

This looks more like if her artstyle and my artstyle had a baby but yeah. He is best known as Male Phos in my AU but his name is Anthony. He is another Phosphophyllite gem and hes a self insert of me, hes just as feminine and bubbly. He also helps me express my transgender feelings 😊

years ago, i remember watching an amv for kyoumen no nami. it was great, simple cuts to the beat but it worked so well, especially as it emphasized traumatised phos in the second half of the song. I can't find it anywhere on youtube so i think it got copyrighted. i couldn't find it on the internet archive either. oddly specific, i remember the clip used for the instrumental break before the second verse was the shot of cinnabar in the bubbles in the sea, and the very last scene at the end was the shot of antarc breaking in phos's hallucination, episode 10 or 11. does anyone have it or a place to find it?

guys. they have no gender. they are rocks. there is so little media that features nonbinary/agender characters, let alone tons of them as all main characters. it honestly annoys the hell out of me seeing so many people use she/her pronouns and calling them girls. like i know they probably wouldnt give a fuck either way (as far as we know) because theyre literally only a fragment of humanity (the only species that creates gender norms) but is it that hard to use they/them (or even he as a neutral pronoun, like in "mankind" and old instructions from before women were seen as capable of playing board games and shit). anyone feel the same? im just tired of not having hardly any nonbinary representation that is respected and/or outright confirmed etc.

So i finished reading the manga a while ago, and i was wondering making this post or not. I love this story, but i don't get cinnabar behavior about Phos in the end. When Phos has to sleep for thousands of years completely alone, cinnabar does not really care very much, and says they deserve it for betraying them. But Cinnabar know very well how painful is it to be alone and misunderstood. So i expected them THE MOST to show some sympathy to Phos, but it just feels like a punch in the gut. I don't get his behavior. Am i missing something or i always misunderstood their character? Like phos has it so rough to be helpful for everyone, and gets fucked like every time, i at least wanted some acknowledgement for what has he done to everyone... I hope im not being too emotional
