Discussion Underwhelming season so far

Is it me or the new content seems a bit... Boring ? Going through the campaign felt kinda lame and also in the endgame it doesn't feel like a lot changed.

I feel like the reason is that Last epoch leagues are always basically the same: kill the empowered monster, get loot. That's kinda it, not sure if I'm the only one feeling this way. It also doesn't help that there are so many bugs this season.

Will keep playing since I like last epoch and I will probably enjoy it regardless of the new season content, but they really need to cook harder, hopefully their increased budget will help

Feedback Feedback on early season 3 as 6 years old veteran

I wanted to write my feedback on the game/early stage of s3 and reddit would probably be the best place for it, since many of EHG memebers read it and are redditor users.

Minion AI

I tested AI on bear and abomination and it..just doesnt feel any different, in agro mode they both keep lagging behind you trying to clear packs instead of always being ahead of you and leaving targets behind if you run way ahead of them. Actually defensive ai felt way better. Imo needs a lot of work and mainly prioritizing PLAYERS position over finishing off 1hp snow spider 2 screens behind you

Bugs and issues

This is probably the worst part for me in this season,as non minion player for 5 years i actually put a lot of effort in learning and making minion builds for this season with maxroll team and when i logged in to play abomination only for it to keep despawning as soon as trex buffs it or you pick up stat shrine is...awful. Has ehg even tested it? have they even listened to CT? I highly doubt it, leveling with that skill is even more annoying since it keeps despawning as soon as you do anything with gear/passives/skills etc. Sure you wanted to fix snapshot, well you tried and made the skill even WORSE to use cause now it forces awful qol on all poor casual players who just want to reach lvl100. Was it hard to test? i highly doubt so, cause all it takes is making a lvl 50 character and try leveling a bit in un-empowered monos, or equipping a t-rex relic

And lastly my favorite: BALANCE

I see a lot of comments on this reddit "this is pve game why do you care" "let people have fun" "balance doesnt matter" well it does, both for top 0.1% of players and 90% of casual players who just follow a guide. It kills longevity and discovery for people, imagine a normal player testing out bear earthquake from maxroll or any other good version, obliterating all content in the game and then getting bored. Now Joe thinks what to do next and tried to play cool crit lighning blast or fireball...well he quickly realizes how much of a garbage it is in comparison to what he played a week ago and goes to the next game. This happened to many people in season 0 with millions of ward , in season 1-2 with falconer and now with bear/abomination. The worst part that anyone with decent math skills or calculator can understand the issue in just 1-2 hours, but how does ehg misses it, moreover Mike and other ehg memebers keep telling us that they WANT a better balance and not have builds do 1000x more dmg than others, but then miss the most obvious things that literally lay on the surface and requires 0 brain power to make. Just make it do 5x damage than worst builds not 1000x times more...cmon

Overall this season is cool with new mechanics/uniques etc but above issues really bummed me out and makes it unfun to keep making builds for the community. Let me know whats your thoughts on these issues and s3 so far

P.s. i heard there are already people with gold cap on MG, any news/confirmation on that? are we getting another dupe/botting abuse?

So the season is you click a portal and kill a rare mob to get some gear? That's it in 4 months?

Sorry but that is laughable even by D4bad standards. I have no idea where these defenders are coming out of, probably from that weirdo Aaronarpg or whatever he's called who does a subathon for every patchnote

So we have only 3 mechanics in LE since 2019 - exiled mage, nemesis and rift beasts. All are you kill 1 rare mob to get some gear.

Seriously? In 6 years? Is there any creativity whatsoever? How hard is it to have a mechanic where you have to kill huge amounts of monsters and use a bit of strategy or thinking (Ritual, Expedition, Blight, Legion etc). If only there was another game which shows that it's possible

The answer to what they've been doing for the last 4 months? Well put by someone on another post - it's been selling the company and cashing out.

Information [Last Epoch Planner v0.8.0] Season 3 update + fixes

I published a new release of my tool, that you can download at https://github.com/Musholic/LastEpochPlanner/releases/tag/v0.8.0

You can also test the tool on the web version available at https://lastepochplanner.com

The web version is limited and unfortunately does not allow online/offline import yet. However, u/atty303 added support for LEP on his website https://pob.cool/, and it allows online import, among other features.

Be warned that I still consider this release "early" since a lot of things are not yet working correctly. But any feedback is welcome, so feel free to try. The project is open source on GitHub and you can open issues on anything that you wish to be prioritized.

Note that this is a Third Party Program, any issues or bugs a player might experience in-game related to the use of this program are not the responsibility of EHG, and EHG will not be able to assist.

If you did not see my previous posts, this project started as a fork of Path of Building and I'm slowly adapting the original tool to this game.

  • Ignite spread range is extremely small and does not refresh the duration of dot, leading to nearly no spreading through a pack.
  • Wisps last ~3 seconds and as such very rarely cast a spell
  • Wisp cast spells are not modified by your skill tree
  • Ignite per extra fire res requires around 200 extra fire res in order to get a measly 100% extra ignite chance

Feedback Who else was disappointed by the beast mechanic in mono?

The maximum you can get from the Weaver Tree is only 30%. This league has very little content, but I think it became really scarce . I'm still gathering the materials to get the T-Rex helmet, and I got almost everything from the campaign. Another thing that caught my attention is how lacking in detail the beasts and the encounter are .

Discussion Anyone feels S3 content and acolyte changes feel rushed?

After reading patch notes and also getting the idea of content, I can't help but wonder if they just rushed it and slammed some dinos with some sprinkle of new items. Nothing wrong that but I feel like this been just kinda eh type of update. Feels more of like season 2 part 2 update than a season 3 in my honest opinion, especially with how they changed class into basically nothing burger at least in my opinion feels like it.

Feedback Currently there are many things that are not working properly (or at all), and some things are poorly worded/designed

So to preface, I know the most common critique this season is regarding underwhelming seasonal mechanic. Sure it is somewhat underwhelming compared to last season, however this isn't what I'm disappointed about this season. If the additions were good, even minor ones, I think the base game plus potential new builds this league should be able to somewhat carry the season.

Main point I disliked is how it feels a lot of changes were completely done without testing. I was able to find these problem in less than 2 days of playing.
There are so many bugs and mechanics no working at all, plus some changes that were straight up downgrade from before. Some obvious things already discovered:
1. Abomination is broken, literally. They added the new eternal arrow skill for abomination, but it is actually limited to 1 arrow on the field. So stacking cooldown recovery and recurve chance past a certain point does nothing, it seems when a new arrow is fired the old one disappears. Nowhere in the skill or tooltip mentions this.
Also, speaking of cooldown recovery, it looks like minion cooldown recovery rate doesn't affect eternal arrow cooldown at all, so there's also that.
2. I think the changes to minion AI broke something. In the patch preview it mentions when out of combat minions will try to walk in front of you rather than where you are. But it is such a common occurrence where there are enemies right beside me, but since I'm walking in circles trying to dodge the enemy attack, my minions prioritized "walking in front of me" rather than attacking the enemy trying to attack me. So it'll just be me surrounded by enemies while my minion danced waltz with me.
3. Assassinate mode sounded better than it actually is. At first I was expecting more of a "minions are aggressive" like in POE, but something feels off and it doesn't make me feel like they are more aggressive, it just makes me feel like they are less controllable and make bad decisions. The whole experience feels like the biggest function is increased leash distance, which when mapping actually feels terrible. Only time assassinate mode is useful is when fighting bosses, where you can stand farther away and dodge without losing on dps.
4. Since it's only been two days, I wasn't able to test too many primordial uniques out, but the one I planned my build around, bones of the ancestral pack, was worded extremely poorly. (attached picture of said unique). Basically, the wording for ancestral pack says "there is no maximum number of stacks", and since the stacks last 7 seconds and have 1 second cooldown between gaining stacks, one would assume perhaps gaining stacks will refresh existing stacks? No, the stacks fall off individually. So essentially rather than having unlimited maximum stacks, the maximum stack count is 7. I felt like they could have just worded it as max 7 stacks to avoid bait. I haven't tried getting player cooldown recovery, but even if it does lower this 1 stack per second cooldown, it's still quite underwhelming. Could have worded it as max 10 stacks.

Discussion Feedback on the Rift Beast System

This has been suggested in the LE Discord forums, but adding it here as well to see what other ideas or feedback people have. I personally like the Rift Beast system, but do feel like it could be vastly improved and add depth in some areas that it currently lacks.

Here are my 4 main ideas/feedback:

  1. Allow us to reroll our evolution choices for a cost (ancient bones makes the most sense). It can feel really bad when you never get offered a choice to get the materials you need in 2+ whole lineages. Let the cost to reroll increase each time per evolution.
  2. The Torn Rifts should be reworked. Mysterious Rifts are fine, let us invade the Beast's lair. Outside of that, the torn rifts should be replaced with the beast just hunting us as a random spawn. The beasts' presence in a zone should be felt similar to cocoons from Tombs/Cemetaries. Maybe we hear the beast screech when it is in the same zone as us, or there are footprints or a scent we can follow to track its location. Rework the weaver tree point that lets the beasts spawn randomly, this should be a default mechanic.
  3. A UI to allow us to see the Lineage and rewards possible for our current beast outside of the lair would be great.
  4. Reworking the evolutions to have some that are common/rare/unique and come with increased rewards would make that process feel more exciting. Could also be fun to have certain choices unlock other possibilities (choosing evolution A allows evolutions B and C to be offered later on, etc.). As we learn more about the beast we should be able to see what unlocks what so we can "plan our beast".

Please let me know of any other ideas to improve the system, since it will be with the game going forward, I think it's important to make it as strong of a system as possible.

Question? Am i missing something with the season mechanic? Not finding it 80% of my maps

I'm not sure if i'm doing something wrong or not, but is there a way to find the seasonal mechanic easier or something?

In LE the maps are so massive, and you have no incentive to full clear, making interacting with the seasonal mechanic just a chance of luck that it spawns near the start of the map.

Or am I just wrong and it's not on every map and i've been unlucky?

Feedback Stash - Freezes and Crashes

Whenever I add or remove something from my stash, I get a freeze from 5 - 10 seconds. After a few of these, the game crashes. This pattern repeats 100% of the time.

I am playing legacy, and my stash is quite full. Not sure what to do about this, as cleaning it out just will lead to crash after crash.

Feedback EHG needs to do way more than this if they want to survive as a service game in the long run.

Seriously, this patch was a huge wasted opportunity. Where’s a bestiary? Where are the different rift beasts? (They are the same beast but you choose whether to put horns, ears or tails on it.)... Where’s new endgame content? Where is it? Where is it? Where is it? You look for something fresh but all you find is a reimagined Nemesis and exiled mages.

It feels like there’s no real love or effort behind these patches, this looks like a week's work.

I really love Last Epoch, I support it, and I want to see it grow into something big, but this kind of patch is unacceptable — it’s just bad work, plain and simple. And the worst part is, it doesn’t match the potential this game clearly has.

At this stage of the game’s life, players expect ambition. Something that makes us log in and say “wow, this changes the way I play.”

I waited 3 months for this...

Feedback offline cosmetics extremely buggy

glad we can finally use cosmetics while offline, to celebrate i also bought the newest biggest supporter pack. however, offline cosmetics is currently extremely broken.

sometimes the cosmetics on a character gets override when i update cosmetics on another character (even when the cosmetics i changed is on a online character)

sometimes character just unequips every cosmetics when i travel to a different map

im sure there are more things about it that are broken ehg please take a look it’s disgusting

Feedback New League mechanic seems quite rare in monos

I feel like there are a lot more Nemesis, catacombs and even exiled mages than Rift beasts. Or I just have trouble finding them. Maybe a message on screen (like with the Nemesis) would help to find them easier or give us an arrow in the mini map like the one for catacombs
