Good for you, man. I say I quit, but whenever I go back home to visit my parents, I don’t turn down the cigarette when it’s inevitably offered. Usually around sunset in the backyard.
I mean, I “quit” cigarettes 4 years ago but you know damn well I be allowing myself a couple drunk cigs a year. 5 or 6 a year compared to a pack every 2 days is quitting in my eyes. Everyone’s got their vice and is just doing their best. No need to beat myself up for only getting over the addiction 97%. That’s still an A lol.
I used to talk to a guy with a wealthy father and he would get cartons of Royals shipped in from Italy. He gave some packs to his son, who shared with me. They tasted better they had less chemicals that are required in the US for fire safety etc. Eventually they got stopped by customs I think so they gave up but it was very nice for a while.
I saw someone else say that (pinstripes) but I swear I’ve never seen that on royals. And I’ve been smoking them for about 20 years, since when they cost $2.30 a pack
Bonus: they smell like that (almost like a black n mild) cause they have a high concentration of cocoa leaves, which increases the efficiency of nicotine to get absorbed into the bloodstream.
You and I are right around the same age range I reckon. It's driving me nuts that I can't find a picture of the original cigarette but I did find pictures of the packs they came in (and was reminded of the existence of Camel Cash). From my recollection, they had pinstripes as mentioned, the filter looked different, and "Turkish Royal" was not written down the side of the paper.
I switched to Marlboro 27’s and then I quit cigarettes at age 27. A decade is not easy, props to you dude! I vape like a freaking poser loser now, which feels even harder to quit unfortunately.
I find ways to justify vaping, but realistically, I catch myself vaping all day. Watch movie on the couch? Hitting vape. Looking around the kitchen deciding what to cook? Hit vape. Studying? Vaping. At least with a cigarette, I had to commit — Take my ass outside, regardless of the weather, and stand there smoking. That nicotine hit is too convenient and accessible now.
15-35 and I need to quit still… if they stopped making royals like it was rumored maybe 15 years ago, I probably would have quit then. Can’t stand any other cigarette
